As a family we love Christmas films, but when was the last decent Christmas movie made? It's just so dull. In fact it was worse than dull, we actually felt robbed of our time. In the end thankfully my daughter asked if we had to watch the last 15 mins and we all agreed not to. Think we are going to stick to firm favourites like Elf, Home Alone and It's a Wonderful Life. So there are no spoilers in this review except the content of the film. Woeful. A film about a Christmas lights competition but with no humour, no feel good factor, no joy, no anything on a positive note. Yes I'm rambling but don't watch this film.

If you're an 80's child you will be disappointed

Warning: Spoilers
I was actually looking forward to this, the ratings were good and kids were excited to see it. The animation is very dark, reminds me of Sin City. The "humour" fell flat, something about milking turtles was repeated ad nauseam, so it was obviously thought this would be a funny joke throughout. Splinter is an old fat dad figure who eventually fights but not likeable at all. Bebop and rock steady end up good?!! So yeah, overall my wife and I both hated the film. My 11 year old and 9 year old both thought it was OK but I just feel it wasn't a very happy child friendly film. So in summary: too dark, not funny, and won't be watching the second one!

Started out ok but.....

Then a woman showed up and from then on the story was nonsense. Why get rid of a man and make up a woman? This does a disservice to Henry who is omitted from history, and also to women who have to be pencilled into 'history' to get with the times. Stupid.
