The Split (2018–2022)
9/10
Stellar👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
13 January 2024
My husband and I just finished this series last night. We both loved it. We became enamored with anything Nicola Walker does. Started with Last Tango In Halifax and went on to Unforgotten, then Annika and now The Split. Everyone in this series does a great job. Season 3 I believe is the strongest and for sure the most emotional. The actress who plays the youngest sister Rose will break your heart. She's so believable in her grief. Some people complain about it being too soapy. I'm not sure what they are looking for? The Split is a show about couples, families and all the messiness that entails. If your looking for a show devoid of emotion than move along. Bravo to all involved here.

Limitless (2015–2016)

Less than good
29 August 2023
Hubs and I tried to get through this. But we bailed in episode 12 or 13-the one about the serial killer. Whoever wrote that episode should be banned from ever writing another show. Truly horrendous. The problem is Limitless tries too hard. It doesn't know how to either be serious or humorous. It just doesn't work in my opinion. The show never got picked up for a 2nd season so the viewers got it right. Too bad because the acting was really good. I think the writers just didn't know how to write this character. Trying to find something during the writers/Sag strike but unfortunately this show is not it.

If you love Football this is it!
31 July 2023
I'm a female and a huge football lover. I appreciated all the details that Peyton Manning and his crew did on this documentary. I think they spread the love evenly between the 3. Although of course maybe just a bit more on KC and Mahomes since they won the Super Bowl. Unlike some people I did not have an issue with the coverage of the wives. I loved seeing the more personal aspects of their lives. I'm a SF 49er however I kind of have a crush now on Kirk Cousins. And a new respect for that man! After episode 3 I was like " How does he do it?" I want him to win his Super Bowl with the Vikings but maybe not for 1 more year as SF needs it right now. I Hope Quarterback does some follow up-another Season maybe.

Keep With It
30 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I usually give a show 2/3 episodes before I decide to keep watching. It took 3 for Joe Pickett. By the 4th episode the actors were comfortable in their roles and started to have chemistry together. Episodes 9 and 10 were great. The actress that played Marybeth had me in tears with her portrayal of losing her unborn son. The daughter who plays Sheridan has such a sweet relationship with Dad Joe. They have great chemistry together. Never reading the books I really liked Nate Romanowski and look forward to seeing his character in season 2. After watching the darkness and violence of Mayor of Kingstown, Joe Pickett was an enjoyable change of pace.

Good not Great
11 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I have mixed feelings on 1923. I think it tells the continuing saga of the Dutton family in a good way. But I have issues with a few things. I agree with others that the gratuitous whipping sex scenes of the 2 prostitutes seem to just be thrown in the mix for really no purpose. It isn't important to the storyline-yes we get it-men we're sadists and brutes-but how does that pertain to the Duttons? It really doesn't. Don't know what or why Sheridan wanted to say with those scenes except to shock. The other violence in the story is the brutality of the natives at the hands of the Catholic schools. It was very hard to watch those scenes. But as it relates to Teonna Rainwater and does fit in the current Yellowstone storyline it seems more fitting to include that terrible dark history that was forced upon the nations tribes. I'm on the fence about the focus on Spencer Dutton and his British bride. I like Spencer but sometimes this veered off into too much soapiness. More focus on the two main characters would be nice. Love seeing Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren together.

Poker Face: Dead Man's Hand (2023)
Season 1, Episode 1

A Solid 8
21 February 2023
So far: a solid 8. I loved the premise of this new show on Peacock. A female lead unwittingly solving murders in each episode. Natasha Lyonne is fantastic in Poker Face. The role was made for her. I also love the surprising ways Poker Face features a lot of great actors in different ways-like Judith Light, S. Epatha Merkinsen, Ellen Barkin, Tim Meadows and Chloe Sevigny and Benjamin Bratt. The only complaint I have is the uneven storylines. Episode 1 was good, Ep 2 and 7 were great. 3 and 6 so so. Episode 4 was awful. There are 3 episodes left. I'm on board no matter what and it looks like there will be a Season 2. Much to like in Poker Face-especially Natasha as Charlie.

Alaska Daily (2022–2023)

I'm a Fan
28 October 2022
My husband and I are enjoying Alaska Daily after watching 4 episodes. The writing is snappy. Acting is good. Glad to see Jeff Perry playing a good guy here. He is underrated as an actor. Hilary Swanks character Eileen comes off as somewhat unlikable and abrasive but after a few episodes her vulnerability shows and I'm warming up to her now. The rest of the cast is diverse and I like the character development of the main team. It's about time a show like this comes along to highlight indigenous missing & murdered women. I hope they show more of the Alaskan pilot/poet. He's got chemistry with Swank.

It's Good
12 October 2022
I love cop shows. Been watching them a long time. I'm particularly fond of Chicago PD right now. But East New York is kind of different. In a good way. I really like Amanda Warren in this role. And Jimmy Smits is always great. Olivia Luccardi and Ruben Santiago are standouts as well. It's fast paced but also takes time with the characters. It has the usual 2 to 3 situations the officers are dealing with per episode. It's got a good vibe to it. I hope the writers stay true to the storylines and characters. I'm impressed so far. Give it a shot. Looking forward to episode 3. Go East New York!!!!!

Pretentious BS
11 June 2022
Everyone raving about this movie just wants everyone reading their review to think how brilliant they are for loving this movie. 2 stars for Naomi Watts-she's captivating as hell. Anything else I call Bullshit on.

Solid Episode
9 April 2022
This was another quality episode. I like the way the writers feature one of the main characters each week-that way they each have a week to spotlight each persons storyline. Hank is the glue that holds them altogether. 😊 My one beef with PD is why won't they just let Adam, Kim and Michaela one season where they are all together and happy. C'mon guys!

Loved it!
11 March 2022
I loved this episode and thought the acting was spot on. I don't understand the complaints-this show is about the core group who make up Voights team. Their lives absolutely should be part of the plot! I love when an episode focuses on each person and then how they come together to solve the problem. Haters go watch something else!

Jumped The Shark!
14 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This last episode tied up lots of loose ends. I loved how Sam Winslow got her commupence-even though I love Susan Sarandon. But I'm sorry-totally not believable about what they did with Bridget Donovan's character-just 3 weeks ago she was telling Ray to get away from her and leave her alone forever-now she's happily chain sawing body parts with her uncles and Grandfather? I kept thinking this was someone's dream sequence! I love this show and how dark it is but cmon!!!! Guess will have to wait until season 7 to see what they come up with
