Below Deck: Salt in Chef's Wounds (2024)
Lost thw wow factor
Watched the whole of this season so far and to be honest it's just boring. Guests are boring, crew are boring no real characters, Very disappointed. From previous seasons there has always been some drama. Eccentric guests with wild demands and behaviour with interesting characters in the crew. Captain Kerry is basically looking after a kindergarden. The onboard romances are cringe worthy. Apart from Cheif Stew there is no crew with an interesting personality. Gone are the drunken escapdes of the crew, gone is the risky antics. It has all turned into a very boring show. I'm surprised it is still being commisioned. Hopefully the next season with Captain Sandy improves, if not rescues the franchise.
Below Deck: Love Me Tender (2024)
What's happened to the drama?
For a number of years now I've been following the trials and tribulations of the various Below Decks crews. In the beginning it was great entertainment getting a "fly on the wall" insight into every day life of the crews and guests onboard these luxury yachts. We have holidayed in the Caribbean many times and often visit the marinas to look and dream at the yachts tied up there. But this latest season of Below Decks seems to have lost its way. It just isn't as entertaining as earlier seasons. The crew are boring. I can't think of one redeeming feature any of them has, except the captain and Chief Stew Fraser. We are now up to episode six and nothing has happened. Previous episodes had characters that you could love or hate. Now , it's just "blah". Hopefully something happens soon or I will no longer be a viewer.
On the Line (2022)
Not good enough to be a B movie.
Absolutely shocking movie. Ham acting from all including Mel Gibson. The whole plot is paper thin. The end twist is just garbage. Not surprised at the unbelievable low takings. From the start the plot just becomes so unbelievable. No police involvement? This is an example of an actor trying to hold on to their career. Apart from Mel Gibson I've never heard of any of the cast probably the reason he was the executive producer. We watched this until the end hoping for a surprise or at least something plausible but it just didn't happen. I would definitely not recommend this movie to anyone which is hard to say as I'm a Mel Gibson fan.
The Holiday (2021)
Boring. Boring. Boring!
Four episodes of complete boredom. Characters are boring, acting not much better, To show this over 4 consecutive nights is dreadful. One full episode could have told the story. But, even that would have still been unbearable.
The Professor and the Madman (2019)
very pleasantly surprised
While I had no great expectations of this movie I was pleasantly surprised both by the acting and script. Who would have thought a movie about a dictionary could be so good. A sticking point for me, as a Scotsman, was Mel's Scottish accent, sometimes it sounded like he was slipping into his William Wallace character from Brave Heart. But his acting and character made up for this little hiccup. Not normally a fan of Sean Penn, but he's great in this. Overall a good movie , well worthy of a second viewing.
Murder on the Orient Express (2017)
Very average at best.
My wife and I looked so forward to seeing this movie. Unfortunately it was boring. No drama, no suspense. The cinematography was excellent. we actually saw people leave the cinema before the end of the movie. The star studded cast really don't shine. Very much a Sunday evening TV viewing movie.
