Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023)
A big pile of meh!!
Ok, let me preface this by saying I was really looking forward to this movie. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to what I expected. I kinda understand some of the initial plot, but then it just meanders into the realm of why? Where are we going with this? The dialog is mediocre and the acting isn't much better. It looks like they grabbed some new faces to keep it fresh, but the talent was lacking. The special effects were something you might see from first year FX students and the kills weren't terribly imaginative at all. After watching it, I saw that apparently a sequel has already been green lit. I'm. It sure how or why, but it did. I hope it is better than this one.
Hell Fest (2018)
Fun slasher movie
I mean, it's a slasher movie so don't expect it to get any Oscars, but this one is a fun watch. Production is good, music is good, and the story flows. Special effects are fine, no over the top gore. It was shot at Six Flags in Georgia so the setting is right on. If I had to bash it, I would have liked to see a bit more backstory on the villian, but that can be left for later. I would like to see a sequel of this to see where it goes from there, because the ending leaves it wide open for one. The villain has plenty of room for development for a possible franchise horror designation. With all the garbage that is out there, this one is worth the watch.
American Psycho (2000)
Find something better
While I am not a Christian Bale fan, I thought I would give this film a spin just to see and, to be honest, I was bored. This definitely wasn't what I expected. The movie was a confusing mish mash of rambling nonsense and the ending was just dumb. If that is what the director was going for then he succeeded. Pretty much every part in this was overacted. There is much better out there to waste your time watching.
The Shield (2002)
Why all the badmouthing...
I just finished watching the Season 5 finale. Once again an excellent show and an overall great season. Forest Whitaker made you absolutely hate him, meaning that he had done his job well. I read through the comments on this board and I must say how surprised I am at how many people are "simply appalled". If you don't like it turn the channel. I am a Detective in a medium sized (400 sworn) agency. Aside from the dirty cop antics the show has some very real aspects to it. Someone mentioned that cops don't play pranks on each other, thats a bunch of BS. Get a group of guys working a 12 hour shift and when it gets slow they will think of something to lighten the mood. The show was outstanding once again and I look forward to adding it to Season 1-4 on my DVD shelf. I look forward to next season to see how it all unfolds. My only negative comment will be that i wish this show had more episodes per season and that they were quicker to start the next season. Love it love it love it.
