A Confession (2019)
camerawork??
Haven't watched more than about 5 minutes but, why is the camerawork so bad. i thought it was a comedy when i came into the room and saw the sheer amount of zoom ins, it's filmed exactly like the office.
Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)
Not as good as they say
I don't understand how so many people have this movie rated insanely high, calling it the "best spider-man movie" & "one of the best in the mcu." To start I'll say that i didn't enjoy Spider-Man: Homecoming when i first viewed it and I still don't, I have nothing against Tom Holland's Spider-Man, I love him as the character and I think he could be great if he just had some better material to work with. Onto the actual movie, I'll start with the stuff i do like; The new suits for spidey are great & I love Mysterio's suit too, some of the action is pretty good & there is solid acting for the most part throughout. Everything else was disappointing, from the cgi to the story to just how enjoyable it was to watch, the film dragged on for a while and it isn't worth a watch at the cinema, unless you're a huge spidey fan
The Wolverine (2013)
Starts off fairly strong, falls short quickly
I had high hopes going into this movie, I thought the first 30 minutes or so were pretty good & I loved the entire funeral scene up until Mariko & Logan got on the train. Everything after that is a slog and there are so many inconsistencies and plot holes, it becomes unbearable at times to watch, not to mention the entire third act is terrible and the two villains; viper & silver samurai are hugely disappointing.
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
a 3 is generous
I hate this movie, they are very few redeeming qualities for it; Famke Janssen's acting is great, Jean's death scene is memorable & Hugh Jackman is fantastic as always. Other then that, nearly everything else in this movie is disappointing. I won't get into everything but some of the more annoying points are how Jean kills Scott, Mystique loses her powers, in the first act & she is barely in the movie after that. The two most annoying things that I hated rewatching was how they didn't continue with the phoenix effects they had in the other 2 movies & making Jean more of a side character when the storyline is meant to center around her.
And we have to talk about the terrible ending, it's too fast paced, there is barely any emotion or depth to characters passing away, and it's overall stupid. I would recommend to just be wary about going into watching this movie, as it will disappoint you severely.
X2 (2003)
I would rate it an 8.5
I'm currently rewatching all the X-Men movies and I thought I'd write reviews for each of them.
I love this movie & it's probably one of my favourites out of the entire franchise. Logan, Jean & Storm are some of the standouts in this movie & I particularly love the Phoenix scenes throughout the film ( too bad they don't carry this over to the next movie. The storyline is great and I love how it manages to balance numerous villains, all in all a great movie and always fun to rewatch!
Doom Patrol: Cult Patrol (2019)
Weakest episode so far, but still strong
I love nearly everything about this show, the humour is spot on and the show is extremely comics accurate, all the main characters are great but the three stand outs for me are; Elasti-Woman (Rita Farr) Negativeman (Larry Trainor) & Cyborg (Victor Stone) the rest of the cast are also extremely talented but these three are my favourites. Getting onto the episode, the plot and writing is great & I love how we get to see some more scenes for one of Jane's personality. All in all, if you haven't already, I totally recommend to watch this show, certainly the best on DC Universe & it's always a fun time!
X-Men (2000)
A Great X-Men Movie
I recently rewatched this movie after watching it for the first time around 2 years ago, most of the characters are great and entertaining; Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean, Professor X, Magneto, but at times some of the characters are severely underused (Halle Berry's Storm) or annoying like Rogue. Rogue is the weakest link of this movie, and is very out of character compared to her comic book counterpart, but aside from characters the plot is great and the effects are amazing to say this came out 19 years ago, overall, even though it isn't the best X-Men movie, it's certainly an enjoyable ride and a great comic book movie, I'd be sure to give it a watch!
