Don't Just Stand There - Ne reste pas planté lÃ
Award winning (Best Editing) entry at 48-hour Film Festival, New Hampshire USA. Shot in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Kinn, Norway. Film completed from start to finish in 48 hours. We pulled the genre, drama, quite literally out of a hat along with a single line of dialogue, 'Don't Just Stand There, Move It..' that we were required to include in the film.
We decided, in the midst of shooting, that we would change course and that the central idea of the film would be anchored to that same line of dialogue. 6gb of raw video was shot in Norway and uploaded to a server in Portsmouth, where it was edited and incorporated in to the American footage.
The film was intended to make the audience think about a situation, one that could have happened to them. Somewhere far away there has been a death of a child and a man on the other side of the Atlantic is haunted by these thoughts, sounds and images. He wanders alone, confused, going deeper and deeper into his troubling thoughts wandering around lost. One can hear children's music, and we see a woman chasing after her child . We tried to evoke happiness, sadness and confusion and the wonder of it all.
