Brian Newman Sizzle Reel
Trumpeter and crooner Brian Newman has earned his stripes as a man about town.
Fulfilling his dream to become a New York City jazz man, Brian is perhaps best known as Lady Gagas jazz bandleader, having most recently collaborated with her and Tony Bennett on the Grammy-nominated album, Cheek to Cheek and joining them on worldwide tour. His trumpet performance with Gaga was also captured on 2011s A Very Gaga Holiday EP, as well as a special jazz version of the Gaga hit, You and I.
Brian continues to hold court with his longstanding weekly residency as bandleader at Rose Bar at the Gramercy Park Hotel on Tuesday and Thursday nights, and special seasonal supper club shows at NYCs legendary Rainbow Room with his orchestra. Brian also routinely appears for special live performances with a diverse array of musical acts, which have included Jon Batiste, Mark Murphy, Dierks Bentley, Willie Nile and The Dirty Pearls.
Brian has also appeared on notable television broadcasts and his throwback style has also had Hollywood calling with other film and television performances including HBOs Boardwalk Empire and feature films Friends with Kids and Hey Bartender, for which he recorded Ive Got My Love to Keep Me Warm and One for My Baby, respectively. Leaving no medium behind, Brian was also named official trumpet player of The Greg James Show on BBC Radio.
His musical stylings and bespoke fashion have been described as the eclectic embodiment of both new world punk and old world tastefulness, allowing him to gracefully toe the line between nouveau chic and classic elegance. In addition to his technical prowess, his creativity and artistic flair serves him well as the exclusive Musical Curator at The Roxy Hotel Tribeca in NYC and a popular choice for a diverse array of major brands as a master of ceremonies and bandleader for high-profile special event performances.
