Monty's First Guinness World Record Attempt featured on BBC News Northwest 2020
Monty decided to set a Guinness World Record. For his first record attempt, he also wanted to find a way to inspire others to take up reading and improve their literacy skills.
He had been developing his own proprietary advanced memory techniques for just over a year and showed the effectiveness of these techniques when, on the 12th December, 2019, he broke the first of many world records, for The Most Consecutive Books Identified by Their First Sentence.
For this first record, he had just 2 weeks to memorise over 500 book titles and their corresponding opening lines, then recall as many book titles when presented with those opening lines.
