Alex convinces his brother to return to Serbia where they discover that Alex's Muslim girlfriend has become a pawn in Dreq's deadly game. Secret alliances are revealed and hidden identities become known as the brothers discover that freedom is never free.

Throughout their weekend-long shift, each man of this unit battles with his own personal problems as the political tension escalates.

Fear of oneself and the fear of exposing and realizing one's own emotions, mistrust and misunderstanding about the people around you, will culminate into total liberation for the people on board. This is a night where all concerns and urges will be realized. But the misery of a life without real love is the common ground of all the characters.

In every episode we see main characters Jaksic family struggling to survive through sanctions, inflation, electricity cutouts and while they are in problems, their neighbors Neska and Stole Petrovic( excellent performances by Dusanka Stojanovic and Branko Vidakovic) are becoming very successful and wealthy in a society where thieves are welcomed and highly praised. We also follow whole bunch of characters that are connected to each other by very unhappy destiny in these harsh times.

Jovan is the son of a local forester Tadija, who, in return, allows Strain poaching and illegal cutting of village wood. Suddenly Petar, the ex-forester who was seven years in jail for killing Strain's older son, returns to the village. His return changes lives of all characters in this story indicating the uncertain end of it.
