Horror Films Originals versus Remakes
In modern horror we continue to see a lot of older horror films being remade/rebooted, and in doing so film makers have pissed off a lot of the horror/thriller movie fans. I, however, am not one of those, but rather am happy about many of these older movies being rebooted with a much more modern flair. In my realizing that I tend to be in the minority of fans that find enjoyment and entertainment in these remade horror films, I decided to take a look at 50 horror films that I'd seen both the original version, as well as its remade/rebooted version, and then to actually document with a list of which film's version that I preferred of each. Of the 50(actually 100 films when counting both versions) films in question I found that 32 of the films I prefer the remade/rebooted version over its original version.. 13 of the films I prefer the original over the remade/rebooted version, and 5 of those films I found that I liked both the original, and rebooted versions, equally..most of these that are viewed equally are due to the scripts being radically different from each other..ie. Silent Night, Deadly Night 1984/2012, The House on Sorority Row 1983/2009, April Fools Day 1986/2008.. The final 2 films do not however fit that criteria, Friday the 13th 1980/2009, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974/2003, and that's why I believe my opinion on these 2 films is likely to cause the most disagreement in regards to this list.
