- Sebastian Cramer started his career as an editor and online artist. Working for various post production facilities he was employed by ARRI-TV/Munich for several years.
Since the early nineties he is directing and has become an international sought-after director for commercials. More than thirty international awards have been granted for his work as a director in the past years.
In 1993 he became a founding member and co-owner of Magicmove GmbH a studio for special effects and motion control equipment. Among a wide range of TV-productions and countless commercials Magicmove was in charge of the miniature shots of feature films such as the "The 13th Floor" (Prod.: Roland Emmerich) and "The Patriot" (starring Mel Gibson, Dir.: Roland Emmerich) and the motion control shots on films like "From hell" (staring Johnny Depp) and the Academy Award® winning "The Pianist" (Dir. Roman Polanski).
In 2003 Sebastian Cramer invented the patented Skater® Dolly and its family of products which was honored with an Academy Award®, Emmy® Award and Cinec Award (Sci-Tech Award/Technical Achivement Award 2007/08, Primetime Emmy Award/ Engineering Plaque 2008, Cinec Award 2004).
In 2009 he founded "Screen Plane GmbH" a company which is developing and distributing 3D gear.
Screen Plane's 3D rigs have been used on numerous international 3D projects, like Wim Wenders "Everything will be fine", "The beautiful Days of Aranjuez" and "Cathedrals of Culture" , Jean-Jaques Annauds "Wolf Totem", Gaspar Noe's "Love", "Farewell my concubine", "Carmen 3D", "Measuring the World", among others.
Sebastian Cramer has been working as a DP or Stereographer on 3D projects such as: Red Bull "Flying Steps", Michel Comte' "Girl from Nagasaki" (DP Italien episode), "Kraftwerk - The Catalog" (Emmy award 3D Blue Ray), Red Bull "Hahnenkamm" (DP), "Cathedrals of Culture" - (stereographer / Halden and Petersburg episode), "Presence" - Wim Wenders (DP), "Anselm" (stereography) Wim Wenders.
He also works as a photographer ans has published the book "TWO VIEWS on Plants" in 2022.
