Alfred Hitchcock is behind several decades' worth of celebrated films, but some of the English director's best works were adaptations of stage plays. "Dial M For Murder" was one such adaptation, based on Frederick Knott's Broadway hit concerning an affair, a murder plot, and the trial that followed. Meticulously plotted and visually sparse, the thriller has one of the most satisfying endings of any of Hitchcock's films.
"Dial M For Murder" came to him from one of his previous players. "Notorious" star Cary Grant brought the project to the filmmaker with ambitions to play a hired killer, an appealing role after the suave menace he showed years earlier in Hitchcock's "Suspicion." At the time, Hitchcock was with Warner Bros., who paid thousands of British pounds for the film rights from filmmaker Alexander Korda (who had previously acquired the rights for much cheaper). After previously scrapping a feature adaptation...

Through the annals of abandoned superhero movies, and masked marvel projects which never happened, Spider-Man 4 remains one of the greater ‘what ifs.’ This is in no small part because millions of fans around the world had already seen what Sam Raimi and company brought to the wallcrawler in what is now known as “the Spider-Man Trilogy,” and most generally loved two-thirds of that. So when Raimi famously derailed the project in late 2009—effectively leading to its cancellation—there were plenty of folks upset by the idea that we’d never see Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker again.
Things of course change. That said we’ve still only had hints at what Raimi’s abandoned Spider-Man 4 would’ve looked like. John Malkovich was expected to play the Vulture; Anne Hathaway was at least very close to being cast as Felicia Hardy (it’s vague whether she officially signed on...

Storyboard artist David Duncan (Iron Man, Rise of the Planet of the Apes) recently upload a video showing storyboards from "The Incredible Hulk," giving us a look at a scene that never made it into the movie. The scene, called "Airliner Fantasy," was the idea of director Louis Leterrier and involves Betty (Liv Tyler) having a scary daydream in which she and Bruce (Edward Norton) are on an airplane. After a bit of turbulence, Bruce loses his cool and becomes the Hulk. It's not clear why the scene was scrapped, but you can check out the storyboards below. Video:...

Production illustrator and storyboard artist, David E. Duncan, worked as an animatic artist on the 2008 Marvel film, The Incredible Hulk. He's recently uploaded an animatic titled, "Airliner Fantasy." It's of a non-scripted scene for The Incredible Hulk that director Louis Leterrier dreamt up. The scene involves Betty, played by Liv Tyler ("The Lord of the Rings"), having a scary daydream in which she envisions her and Bruce (Ed Norton) on an airplane. During the flight things get a little bumpy due to turbulence and Bruce looses his cool and the Hulk is unleashed. You can watch the video by clicking on the Vimeo player below (no embed). You can also view the storyboards that I screengrabbed. "The Incredible Hulk": Unproduced "nightmare" scene from David E. Duncan on Vimeo. Will Ferrell, Jon Hamm, Sarah Silverman, and Aziz Ansari perform at the 'We Hate Hurricanes' benefit
“I didn’t realize the full on hatred people had for hurricanes,” Jon Hamm said to the sold out Club Nokia in Los Angeles on Monday night.
Alongside his friend Adam Scott, Hamm was there to host the “We Hate Hurricanes” benefit, a comedy fundraiser for the victims of Hurricane Sandy with proceeds going to the non-profit AmeriCares. For under $50, the audience was treated to an A-List variety show featuring a performance by Beck and standup sets by Sarah Silverman, Chelsea Peretti, and Aziz Ansari.

With the exception of, in some cases, Bad Santa, most would agree that Billy Bob Thornton‘s best, recent outing would have to be Friday Night Lights — he and Peter Berg are in this same camp, now that I think about it — which, having an overactive mind, gets me thinking history played a big part in this next career step. Or, maybe he just likes baseball.
According to Variety, he and Edward Burns are taking the top spots in Three Nights, director David Anspaugh‘s (Rudy, Hoosiers) big-screen take on Three Nights in August, a sports memoir from… Friday Night Lights author H.G. “Buzz” Bissinger. (Yes, that’s what I took too long to build up to.) Unlike that seminal account of high school football, however, Three Nights is a fictionalized portrayal of strategic choices made by St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony Larussa during a three-game, 2003 series against the Chicago Cubs.

Man, that was fast! After airing only three episodes (including tonight's installment), ABC has decided to remove "Happy Town" for the remainder of May sweeps. The series will go on hiatus for two weeks, returning on June 2nd, when the first of its five remaining eps will air.
Per TVSeriesFinale.com next week’s episode will be replaced by an edition of "Primetime: What Would You Do?". On May 26th ABC will present the network premiere of the Transformers movie.
The series got off to a poor start two weeks ago with a 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.25 million viewers. Last week, for Episode Two, viewership took a nosedive to a 1.2 in the demo and 3.79 million viewers.
"Happy Town" stars Geoff Stults ("October Road") as Tommy Conroy, Sam Neill (Daybreakers) as Merritt Grieves, Lauren German (Hostel: Part II, Dark Country) as Henley Boone, Steven Weber (Desperation, The Shining mini-series) as John Haplin,...

I could make any number of jokes here (ie. “Happy Town will be sad”), but I’ll somehow refrain myself from doing so (mostly because they suck). Unfortunately, the new ABC series Happy Town suffered from poor ratings from the beginning – which only happened to be a few weeks ago. Despite a solid cast with actors such as Sam Neill, Steven Webber and Amy Acker, the show premiered to lackluster ratings and they have only declined.
ABC has, therefore, pulled the show from its schedule as a mid-season replacement. An episode will air tonight (Wednesday, May 12) in its regular 10:00 p.m. timeslot and then the show will disappear until June 2, when the remaining four episodes of Happy Town will be burned off on Wednesday nights during the summer.
ABC seems to be searching for that elusive heir to Lost with sci-fi and mystery shows such as FlashForward, V and now Happy Town.

While most critics remain vehemently anti-Happy Town (which after two episodes is already suffering a serious ratings decline), I continue to enjoy the show. Perhaps I.m easier to please.I even like Stephen King.s crappy books.but once again I found myself intrigued and entertained. Wednesday night.s episode did a good job of answering questions while creating new mysteries. Here.s a look at what we know (not much) and what we.re still trying to figure out.

Several days ago we told you about ABC's "Demand It" campaign for its new series "Happy Town" whereby once they reach 50,000 demands, everyone who participated will be able to watch the show online in advance of its April 28th premiere. Now that we have a longer synopsis of "Happy Town" that includes its full cast, we're pretty sure you'll be wanting to head on over to Eventful and take part if you haven't already.

ABC's new midseason show, Happy Town, is set to premiere in 2010, although I'm not yet sure of the exact date. However, ABC has released some information for us, including a long promo, a description of the show, and several photos (presumably from the pilot episode).
The show looks a bit like Twin Peeks – a show about a small town with weird characters and even weirder circumstances.
