Karen Gloyd moved to Las Vegas in 1977, a freshman in high school.
After graduating and marrying her first husband in 1982, Donald Loving
Jr., she worked in the computer industry. After divorcing Loving in
1985, she married Larry Gloyd Jr. in 1987. She began working for
Westwood Studios in 1995 which began her career in film and video.
Gloyd worked in Marketing and as a Line Producer, and established the
Special Projects department with partner Barry W. Green. Gloyd and
Green attended film courses including the Dov SS Simens Hollywood 2-Day
Film School, and produced many videos for Westwood Studios. They also
raised funds and created their first full-length feature while under
the employ of Westwood. Gloyd and Green left Westwood in 1999 and
established Fiercely Independent Films and Reliance Pictures. After
producing, writing, directing and starring in her first award-winning
short film, Deadline, Gloyd and Green continued working in the Las
Vegas market, until 2001 when September 11th evaporated their
possibilities. Gloyd still resided in Las Vegas with Larry, her husband of 22 years. They have two sons, Justin - 21 and Alexander, 17.
