- Martin was a member of the band Spastic with Jon Fishman (of Phish). Spastic was named after the Japanese definition of "Guigui" which is "a commonly used medical term for muscle spasms". In one of their shows, the group raised thousands of dollars in a benefit concert for "The Prevention Of Child Abuse".
- Martin was a standout high school basketball player, and played in the NBA Entertainment League, where he competed against the likes of Adam Sandler, Snoop Dog, Ice Cube, Sugar Shane Mosley, Will Ferrell, Jamie Foxx, Brian McNight, Justin Timberlake and many other stars and members of the entertainment industry who love to play the game.
- Martin is an amateur astrophysicist and dedicates time to the study and advancement of the principles of physics as it pertains to realms of theoretical and observational physics.
- In 2007, in honor of his Father's passing, Martin Conducted the Los Angeles Union Symphony Orchestra in an educational concert that raised thousands of dollars to provide musical instruments for young students. The event was sponsored by the City of Los Angeles and Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation.
- Began playing the piano at age 10. Martin performed Beethoven's 'Fur Elise' in his own 'Boogie Woogie' style during a recital and his teacher closed the piano lid on his fingers! Martin has been self taught ever since...
- Guigui helped organize and was the Music Director for the "One America - 5 Presidents" concert event which raised $44 million for Hurricane relief, and made history by bringing together the 5 living Presidents for the first time to host the event.
- While on set directing, accentuating a take he is happy with, Guigui coined the phrase "Circle That!".
- Between the ages of 8 and 17 Martin was a member of the Green Mountain Fiddlers.
- Began playing the violin at age 4 and by the time Martin was 12 years old he performed Vivaldi's Violin Concerto in D Major with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra.
