Exclusive: UTA has signed comedic multi-hyphenate Cedric The Entertainer and his production company A Bird And A Bear Entertainment for representation in all areas.
A comedian, actor and executive producer, Cedric currently stars opposite Max Greenfield in the CBS sitcom The Neighborhood, which returned for its sixth season in February and has been picked up for a seventh. Created by Jim Reynolds, the show follows midwesterner Dave Johnson (Greenfield) as he relocates his white family to a predominantly African American neighborhood in Los Angeles. There, Dave’s excessive friendliness isn’t well-received by everyone, especially his new next-door neighbor, Calvin Butler (Cedric The Entertainer). Cedric won an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on the show last year, marking his sixth inclusion in the category.

Exclusive: Paramount Pictures has launched development on What Kids Want, a new feature scripted by the Like a Boss duo of Sam Pitman and Adam Cole-Kelly, sources tell Deadline.
The film follows up the high concept comedies What Women Want (2000), starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt, and What Men Want (2019), starring Taraji P. Henson and Tracy Morgan, both of which were distributed by Paramount. While the former centered on a man suddenly gifted (or cursed?) with the ability to hear the thoughts of women, the latter reversed the equation. The new film will, of course, involve a look into the minds of children.
Todd Garner will produce for Broken Road Productions, alongside Gina Mathews and Grant Scharbo for Little Engine Entertainmemt. Matthews comes to the project after producing What Women Want, along with such rom-coms as 13 Going on 30, All My Life (alongside Garner) and Isn’t It Romantic?...

Lorne Michaels is an expert at celebrating the legacy of “Saturday Night Live.” The show’s creator has produced variety specials for the NBC program’s 15th anniversary, 25th anniversary and 40th anniversary, so the upcoming 50th season should have a highly entertaining spectacle. Nothing less than a three-hour event would be expected, but how else should “SNL” celebrate the golden anniversary season, which would begin in the autumn of 2024 and continue through May, 2025?
Here is our exciting, fun suggestion for a way to go above and beyond for the live special. Over the course of a 20-22 episode season, NBC would certainly have almost every episode featuring the current cast along with hot guest hosts and musical guests. However, for the other five episodes spread out over several months, devote an entire 90 minutes to each previous decade. Invite back the biggest cast members from a decade along with well-known guest hosts and music stars.

It’s a feat only 29 other SNL cast members have pulled off: With tonight’s episode of Saturday Night Live, Heidi Gardner has appeared in 500 sketches.
That’s according to longtime SNL statistician Mike Murray, who hosts The Saturday Night Network’s weekly SNL by the Numbers podcast. (Full disclosure: The Snn is LateNighter’s podcast partner.)
Tonight’s game show sketch “Couple Goals” was Gardner’s 500th sketch.
Gardner, who’s in her seventh SNL season, is only the 30th cast member to hit the 500 sketch milestone, an honor she shares with two other current cast members, Mikey Day and (of course) Kenan Thompson, whose 21 seasons on the show put him at the top of the list.

Diarra From Detroit is, at various points, a hard-boiled mystery, a quarter-life crisis comedy, a complicated love triangle (that’s occasionally a quadrangle), and an ensemble hangout show about a group of longtime friends. Some of these elements in theory make sense together — though in theory they should not all fit within the same series. But the reason Diarra, which debuted last week on the BET+ streaming service, is among this year’s most pleasant TV surprises is how much it all makes sense when you watch it.

Dave Grohl paid tribute to his one-time Nirvana bandmate Paul McCartney (technically, it’s true!) with a rendition of “Live and Let Die” at the Love Rocks NYC benefit concert Thursday night, March 7.
The Foo Fighters frontman gave a characteristically full-throated performance of McCartney’s hit 1973 James Bond theme song. Though he strained a bit to hit some of the high notes during the ballad-y sections and left the “You know you did” refrain to the backing vocalists, he attacked the hard rock portions the way only Dave Grohl can.

The first "Saturday Night Live" episodes of 2024 were underwhelming. The writers weren't able to do much with Jacob Elordi other than thirst after his handsomeness, and Dakota Johnson didn't bring much to the table other than enthusiasm for Justin Timberlake being there and a great roast of herself and Please Don't Destroy. The episodes were so bad that we didn't even do full reviews of them.
Thankfully, "SNL" finally picked up the slack with the third episode of the year, hosted by Emmy-winner Ayo Edebiri, the co-star of FX's hit series "The Bear." With a history in stand-up comedy, Edebiri has the perfect background for a late night sketch comedy series, so it should come as no surprise that she easily fit in with the rest of the "SNL" cast and delivered a fantastic episode.
So let's dig into the highs and occasional lows of Ayo Edebiri's episode of "Saturday Night Live.

Tina Fey stopped by The Tonight Show to promote the Mean Girls musical movie and host Jimmy Fallon challenged her to a new game called “Friendzee.” The game basically involves trying to guess the name of a mutual pal by asking random and “not helpful” questions from a pile of cards. Funny and a chance to humble brag about the famous people they both know.

Tina Fey returns to television comedy with an adaptation of the 1981 film, The Four Seasons. Here are the first details of her latest show…
Actor, writer, comedian and producer Tina Fey is returning to the small screen to co-write and star in The Four Seasons, an adaptation of the 1981 film of the same name which was written and directed by Alan Alda, who also starred alongside Carol Burnett, Len Cariou, Sandy Dennis, Rita Moreno, Jack Weston, and Bess Armstrong.
The plot followed three couples who vacation together during each of the four seasons. One of the men leaves his wife for a younger woman, who he brings to the next vacation, leading to conflict. A short lived television adaptation followed in 1984.
Fey co-created the television version with fellow 30 Rock writers Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield. Alan Alda will also executive produce.

Every now and then a clip pops up on the internet involving a celebrity that makes you go, Yeah, that’s me! That’s the case with an interview with Eddie Murphy from just earlier this year, in which he revealed that he and Tracy Morgan constantly text each other lines from the original Planet of the Apes.

Murphy first came up with – while mimicking Dr. Zaius (as played by Maurice Evans) and mock-texting – “Where is your nest at?” to which Morgan will text back, “Thank God for calling me Taylor”, as spoken by Charlon Heston’s George Taylor. Murphy also remembered watching Planet of the Apes repeatedly, even owning the action figures – well,...

Woodruff was ABC’s “World News Tonight” anchor with Elizabeth Vargas in 2006, when he and cameraperson Doug Vogt suffered a near-death experience during a roadside bombing. Vargas simultaneously went on maternity leave and departed the newscast; Charles Gibson then took over “World News.”
Woodruff left Iraq with a traumatic brain injury and a long recovery process, although he returned to “World News Tonight” the following year as a correspondent. In the special, he visits Iraq with his son, Mack,...

It took three weeks, multiple votes, and multiple candidates, but Republicans in congress finally elected a new Speaker of the House this week, selecting Mike Johnson for the job. Tracy Morgan swears it could’ve been him — especially with George Santos’ endorsement.
Stopping by “The Tonight Show” on Thursday, Morgan blew Jimmy Fallon’s mind when he admitted that he’s not only into politics, but firmly believes he could bring politicians across the aisle to work together.
“Yeah, I could’ve been speaker! My game is good!” Morgan said. “How you think I got my wife to marry me? Lying! She did not want to know the truth about me. I’m telling you, who could get the Democrats and the Republicans together better than old Tray-Bae?”
Through his trademark fit of laughter, Fallon agreed, applauding the comedian’s desire to help. But, Morgan took things one further, joking...

Tracy Morgan paid tribute to his longtime business manager Mark Landesman on Wednesday, admitting, “I don’t know where I’d be without you, bro.”
Landesman was recognized with THR‘s Business Manager Icon Award at its annual Power Business Managers breakfast, where Morgan, his client of 20 years, presented him with the honor.
At the podium, Morgan joked, “Whenever I want to buy a new Ferrari, Mark is always here to say, ‘No, Tracy.’ If it wasn’t for Mark, I would’ve had 26 Ferraris and a terrible tax problem.” He also teased he’s previously asked if he could buy the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building and the Staten Island Ferry — the last of which he was told, “No Tracy, my other client Pete Davidson already owns it.”
Though the Ml Management founder has a long list of star clients, the two have a particularly deep bond, as...
