A few months back, Marvel Studios revealed the actors set to play the main roles in the upcoming ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot. Pedro Pascal will play Reed Richards, alongside Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm. They’ll be joined by Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing. Julia Garner will take on the role of Shalla-Bal, the MCU’s Silver Surfer.
The casting stirred up quite a bit of controversy, with much of the criticism aimed at Garner’s portrayal of Silver Surfer. Pedro Pascal also faced some negative comments, with many fans skeptical about his ability to portray Mr. Fantastic, still holding out hope for Krasinski in the role.
In a recent interview with Salaam Nerds, Rahul Kohli disclosed that he was considered for the role but ultimately lost out to the star of ‘The Last of Us’.

When the cast of next year’s The Fantastic Four was announced, a lot of people – including our readers – were left underwhelmed. One decision that failed to push much interest was Pedro Pascal, who was cast as Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic. We all love Pascal but one does have to wonder what somebody else could do with the role; and certainly there were a lot of other names that were either considered or wanted it. One in the latter camp is Rahul Kohli, better known for TV work for Mike Flanagan.
Rahul Kohli recently recalled being passed over for one of the lead roles in The Fantastic Four, saying it represents where he is in his career. “I don’t know if I’m allowed to talk about it but I didn’t get it, is the important thing. But on good days, I see the Constantine. It will flare up once and again.

Breaking Bad and The Boys star Giancarlo Esposito recently revealed he's joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a mystery role. A few hours ago, a rumour cropped up claiming he'll star in a Disney+ TV series and the actor himself has now confirmed that is indeed the case.
"The MCU has knocked on my door and it's a role you won’t predict," Esposito told fans during a recent convention appearance. "It will be teased and there will be a series afterwards."
This appears to debunk theories he'll voice Norman Osborn in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man as there's nowhere for that villain to be teased before the animated series launches on the streamer either this year or next.
Interestingly, the fan who shared these updates adds that when someone mentioned to Esposito that he'd make an "excellent" Doctor Doom in The Fantastic Four, he mentioned "talking it into existence and making yourself believe in it.

There is little doubt that Marvel has seen a gross loss in quality in recent years, perhaps after the incessant success of Avengers: Endgame. However, things are certainly looking on the up, at least potentially, with a range of exciting projects set to be released in the coming time.
This, quite notably, includes the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, which has been allotted a release date of July 25, 2025, for the time being. Featuring a glut of stars such as Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, it seems as if another superstar of Indian origin, previously seen in CBS’s SuperGirl, Rahul Kohli, was also in the running for a major role.

After seemingly endless rumours, Marvel Studios finally announced The Fantastic Four cast earlier this year. Each of them had been linked to the reboot at one time or another, so there were no major surprises for those who had been closely following the casting process.
Oppenheimer star David Krumholtz has confirmed he tried and failed to play the McU's Thing, and now Midnight Mass star Rahul Kohli has revealed that he missed out on being cast as Mister Fantastic.
He was long a fan favourite choice for Reed Richards and, in the video below, admits to being beaten to the part by The Mandalorian's Pedro Pascal.
"Yeah, I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about it but I didn't get it, is the important thing," Kohli explains. "But on good days, I see the Constantine [fan casting]. It will flare up once and again. And, I love all of them.

Ebon Moss-Bachrach may soon be a household name due to his standout supporting role as Richie Jerimovich on the hit FX (for Hulu) television series “The Bear.” And if that doesn’t do it, perhaps his recently announced casting as Ben Grimm aka The Thing in Marvel’s film version of “The Fantastic Four” will.
Of course, there are some who have been all-in on Moss-Bachrach since his performance as Desi on HBO’s “Girls.” Those playing catchup on his career should perhaps start with an even-earlier role that stands out for many now in retrospect — a brief appearance as Frederick the bellboy in Wes Anderson’s “The Royal Tenenbaums.” With a mop of floppy curls under a round hotel cap, Moss-Bachrach was only 23 at the time of filming, but held his own against scene partner and legendary screen actor Gene Hackman.
“He’s a pro,” said Moss-Bachrach of Hackman during a profile in GQ.

FX on Hulu’s The Bear will dish up an all-new season to kick off summer. Season 2 already elevated the show with its numerous guest stars as well as the transition of the family sandwich shop into a fine dining establishment. Season 1 swept the first of two Emmys ceremonies this year, with the second hoping to follow in those footsteps.
After Season 1 raked in its 10 Emmys at the 75th ceremony, the cast and crew had various responses to the comedy genre label. Since the show’s launch, stars Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach have all been cast in other high profile projects like The Iron Claw for White, The Fantastic Four for Moss-Bachrach and Luca Guadagnino’s next film, The Hunt, for Edebiri.
Fans of the intense kitchen-set series may anticipate new faces and poignant needle drops like Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” for Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Richie.

The show of summer 2024 — for some, of the whole year — is almost back. FX’s The Bear returns June 27 with more tense kitchen drama, classic rock, and superb performances, including from Jeremy Allen White, who looks predictably stressed in this first trailer.
Pretty much the whole gang’s featured in this 30-second preview: Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), Marcus (Lionel Boyce), Tina (Liza Colón-Zayas), Sugar (Abby Elliott), and Fak (Matty Matheson).. And they all look like they’re feeling the pressure following the soft opening of The Bear (the restaurant), with Sugar and Richie trying to mollify customers while Sydney expedites and Marcus tries to keep the peace between Carmy and Cousin. "The Bear" is open for business and viewers are once again invited to a front-row seat in the kitchen ... if you can take the heat, that is. The FX/Hulu original hit series has been off our airwaves since its second season wrapped in June of last year, but every foodie's patience is about to be rewarded. The last time we checked in with this oddball assortment of characters, Jeremy Allen White's chef Carmy, Ayo Edebiri's creative partner Sydney, Ebon Moss-Bachrach's fiery Richie, and the rest of the gang had traded in their rugged beef stand for the cozy confines of a bona fide restaurant known as The Bear -- despite an awfully unlucky (and nigh catastrophic) series of unfortunate events.

FX‘s The Bear is keeping the kitchen chaos cooking in the latest Season 3 teaser trailer released by the network. The 40-second preview hints at more tension between “cousins” Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as the popularity of the titular restaurant rises. “Feel good?” Carmy asks fellow chef Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) in the opening seconds, and she echoes back, “You feel good?” As Carmy puts it, we’re “going to see.” It’s Richie who steps into the kitchen to announce, “We’re open.” And what ensues is pure calamity, but what else should fans expect from this ragtag team of Chicago-based culinary experts? FX As previously announced, Season 3 of FX’s The Bear will premiere Thursday, June 27 on Hulu with all 10 episodes streaming the same day. Season 3 continues the story of Carmy, Sydney, and Richie as they elevate the restaurant to the highest level, while also...

The feature does not currently have a release date or a director attached.

Cruella and Richard Jewell star Paul Walter Hauser is one of the most exciting additions to The Fantastic Four, but as we write this, there's still no word on who he's playing.
Mole Man is the most popular suggestion among comic book fans, though it's just as easy to imagine him voicing H.E.R.B.I.E., for example. Marvel's First Family has many allies and enemies on the page so Hauser could ultimately be portraying any number of characters in the upcoming reboot.
Talking to Screen Rant, Hauser broke his silence on joining The Fantastic Four and confirmed he's playing someone from the comics.
"[All] I can say is that I, in some iteration, am in the movie The Fantastic Four until I get fired or recast. So I can't say anything about the character I'm playing, but know that it is in the sort of lexicon and mythology of The Fantastic Four stories,...

If you're at all familiar with Marvel's First Family, then you'll know they've had to stop Galactus from consuming Earth on countless occasions. However, in Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four, it appears the World-Eater will have a very different reason for visiting the planet.
Undeterred by Disney and Marvel taking legal action to discover their identity, scooper @CanWeGetToast has shared a rumour today claiming that Galactus comes to Earth in search of Franklin Richards (who is reportedly "born in space").
The son of Reed Richards and Sue Storm, Franklin is an incredibly powerful mutant with the ability to create new realities and even rewrite his own.
He has a complicated history with Galactus which has included him actually taking the villain's place in the "Earth X" reality and making the big bad his Herald back on Earth-616 to fend off a Celestial attack. We don't know which comics The Fantastic Four is pulling inspiration from,...

Matt Shakman ("WandaVision") directs Marvel Studios new live-action feature “The Fantastic Four”, starting July 2024, starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Joseph Quinn, Julia Garner, John Malkovich and Ralph Ineson, reportedly based on the story arc “The Galactus Trilogy" from Marvel Comics “Fantastic Four" #48-#50 (1966), introducing 'Galactus' aka ‘The Devourer of Worlds”:
"...in 'The Coming of Galactus', the 'Silver Surfer' soars through the 'Andromeda Galaxy', attracting the attention of 'Skrulls'. Terrified, the Skrulls do everything they can to conceal their world from the Surfer's perceptions, for wherever the Silver Surfer appears, his master, 'Galactus', cannot be far behind.
"Back on Earth, the 'Fantastic Four' witness the entire skyline engulfed in flame. At the 'Baxter Building', 'Reed Richards' sequesters inside his lab analyzes the situation. But the flames in the sky dissipate, giving way to an unending field of space debris as the 'Watcher' appears inside Reed's laboratory.

After first being announced at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, The Fantastic Four is now just over a year away from arriving in theaters.
Marvel Studios has assembled one of its best casts to date for the reboot, making it clear they're taking Marvel's First Family seriously after 20th Century Fox's disappointing take on the team.
Now, in the wake of Disney CEO Bob Iger saying Marvel Studios will release only three movies a year moving forward, there are concerns The Fantastic Four could be delayed.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, shooting will begin at the end of July. With a release date of July 25, 2025, Marvel Studios will have only a year to get this thing finished and in theaters. It's doable, but when each character requires a great deal of visual effects work, we can't help wondering whether The Fantastic Four could take Blade's spot in November.
