[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from the finale of USA Network’s “The Sinner” in addition to the book on which it was based.]
USA Network’s “The Sinner” became one of the surprise hits of the summer for its fascinating look at how hidden and unresolved traumas can manifest in disturbing or downright horrifying ways. The psychologically twisted story delved deeply into the past of a woman who seemed relatively normal and happy, but whose abuse at the hands of multiple people eventually led to her murdering a man without apparent provocation.
German crime author Petra Hammesfahr penned the 1999 novel on which “The Sinner” is based, and for the most part the central mysteries remained the same in both versions. The television adaptation naturally also had the expected number of cosmetic changes: Cora Bender is now Cora Tannetti, a song played on a cassette tape now plays on a phone, and the setting has moved from Germany to a small city in New York.

Warner Bros’ Monster Universe is really starting to shape up. With the almighty monster-off destined to erupt in three years time with Godzilla Vs Kong in May 2020 a deal has been struck that will see the Blair Witch (2016) and You’re Next director Adam Wingard take up the coveted helm.

The MonsterVerse, featuring Godzilla and King Kong, is in full swing, following 2014's release of Godzilla and this year's Kong: Skull Island. Not to be confused with Universal's universe featuring its own classic monsters, now called Dark Universe, the MonsterVerse's next chapter will be Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019. Following that sequel to 2014's Godzilla, Godzilla Vs. Kong is set to bring the two legendary monsters together in 2020.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed the director attached to Godzilla Vs. Kong, and it's neither Godzilla's Gareth Edwards or Kong: Skull Island's Jordan Voght-Roberts. Adam Wingard, known for his work on horror films such as You're Next, The Guest, and 2016's remake of Blair Witch, has been tapped to direct the feature, from a script crafted by a writer's room including Terry Rossio (Pirates of the Caribbean), Patrick McKay and J.D. Adam Wingard, the director best known for his low-budget films such as You're Next and The Guest has landed his biggest movie directing gig yet. According to Variety, he is officially set to direct the highly anticipated Godzilla Vs. Kong film for Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros.
This giant monster universe all started with Gareth Edwards' 2014 film Godzilla and it was followed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts' Kong: Skull Island. Before Godzilla Vs. Kong comes out, though, we have Godzilla: King of the Monsters coming from director Michael Dougherty.
Wingard is currently working on the live-action adaptation of Death Note for Netflix. He seems like a solid directing choice for this project, regardless of the fact he directed that terrible Blair Witch movie that came out last year. It will be interesting to see what he ends up doing with Godzilla Vs. Kong, especially with the big budget he'll have to work with.

“Here is the screen’s most shocking exposé, of the ‘Baby-Facers’ just taking their first stumbling steps down Sin Street U.S.A.!” Robert Altman’s first feature film is far too good to be described as any but an expert step toward an impressive career. But he had to deal with a young actor who drove him up the wall, Tom Laughlin.

Shannen Doherty will appear in TV Land's upcoming Heathers pilot.

Doherty also shared the news via her Instagram on Tuesday.
"Sneak peek from the #Heathers set," Doherty wrote in the caption of a photo of herself in wardrobe. "Jealous much?"

Since breaking out over 20 years ago in "Thelma & Louise," Brad Pitt has been difficult to miss.
After landing his place in cinematic history as a hunky (and shirtless) criminal, Pitt's career blossomed with starring roles in critical and box office hits alike, such as "A River Runs Through It" (1992), "Seven" (1995), and "12 Monkeys" (1995) -- just to name a few. In the past two decades, Pitt has become one of Hollywood's biggest stars, but his role has expanded beyond just acting. In only the past few years, he's produced two Best Picture nominated films, "Moneyball" (2011) and "12 Years a Slave" (2013). This fall, he's back in front of the camera leading his battle-hardened platoon into Nazi Germany in "Fury."
From his early days in Missouri to his unlikely romances, here are 35 things you probably don't know about Brad Pitt.
1. Brad Pitt was born December 18, 1963 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Jane Hillhouse and William Pitt.
2. His mother was a school counselor,...

Last night’s flashback-tastic New Girl episode, “Virgins,” was a treasure trove of music to set the mood — some songs more successfully than others — as the loftmates looked back on their first sexual encounters. Anchoring the eclectic mix (which ranged from Sublime to Boyz II Men and even figured in Lisa Loeb), Ellie Goulding’s “Anything Could Happen” kicked in during a fan-fulfilling scene between Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel).
It got us thinking of some of our favorite first-time anthems from shows of yore. Below, our ultimate Spotify playlist of coupling tracks!

When all the lights go out, what else do you expect the survivors to do but go on a "Quest for Power"? In this pair of promos for NBC's upcoming "Revolution," it's evident that "Their Journey... Is Our Hope".
And another potentially recurring role has been cast as Maureen Sebastian (The Share) is joining the new series as the wife of Aaron (Zak Orth) in flashbacks.
Revolution premiere Monday, September 17th.
Synopsis:
Our entire way of life depends on electricity. So what would happen if it just stopped working? Well, one day, like a switch turned off, the world is suddenly thrust back into the dark ages. Planes fall from the sky, hospitals shut down, and communication is impossible. And without any modern technology, who can tell us why? Now, 15 years later, life is back to what it once was long before the industrial revolution: families living in quiet cul-de-sacs,...

The already hefty (and high-powered) cast for NBC's "Revolution" has just grown by one with the news that Jeff Fahey ("Lost," Machete, Sushi Girl) has signed on as a guest star.
According to TVLine, Fahey will appear in an early episode as a character named Hutch. No other details are known about the part so far.
In other "Revolution" news, NBC has released another character profile, this time featuring Billy Burke's introduction of Miles Matheson, the flinty freedom-fighting character he plays on the show.

Just as they did last year with then-new series Grimm, NBC will be making the first hour of several new series available to everyone on a variety of platforms two weeks before their official premiere dates. We’re happy to report that this plan includes new J.J. Abrams/Eric Kripke-produced Revolution.
The first episode of Revolution (directed by Jon Favreau) will be available beginning September 13 (the broadcast premiere is September 26) on the following platforms: on demand and online through cable, satellite and telco providers; NBC.com; NBC Owned and affiliate station websites (should they choose to opt in); Hulu (including Hulu’s online distribution partners); iTunes, Amazon and Xbox.
In addition, NBC will further maximize its Olympics platform by unveiling a special six-minute tease of Revolution on Saturday, August 4 at approximately 10:54 p.m. (Et) following the swimming competition that is expected to feature U.S. gold medalist swimmer Michael Phelps.

Our anticipation for NBC's “Revolution” from director Jon Favreau and the fertile imaginations of J.J. Abrams and Eric Kripke just went up a notch with the news that "Lost" and "V" alumna Elizabeth Mitchell has joined the show as a series regular.

NBC previewed its “upfront” presentation of its 2012-13 schedule to potential advertisers yesterday. Easily the best thing to come out of it were the videos about the new J.J. Abrams/Eric Kripke-produced Jon Favreau-directed series Revolution.
Although we’d been given a little bit of information about it over the past several weeks, we now have a much better picture, via this pretty excellent trailer; see for yourself:
Trailer: Revolution
We also have a couple of interviews about the show, first from Executive Producer J.J. Abrams:
Featurette: Revolution – Interview with J.J. Abrams
The pilot was directed by Jon Favreau:
Featurette: Revolution – Interview with Jon Favreau
And here’s the official synopsis:
Our entire way of life depends on electricity. So what would happen if it just stopped working? Well, one day, like a switch turned off, the world is suddenly thrust back into the dark ages.

So it is now time to embark on the final chapter in my mindless quest to compare Friday Night Lights plot lines to bowl games.
If you missed my first two posts in the series, you can read them here and here.
Before I jump into the comparisons, we need to get in the mood to discuss Friday Night Lights. That is, sappy, reflective and on the verge of tears.
So here you go:
The Rose Bowl Game Presented By Vizio, January 2nd, 5:00 Pm, Espn
Oregon vs. Wisconsin
By all indications, this should be one of the best games of the entire bowl season, if only because the Friday Night Lights tie-ins are just off the charts. Wisconsin has a tough, explosive offense that's led by an extremely talented dual-threat quarterback named Russell Wilson who transferred into the school this season from out of state. Hmmm..."an extremely talented...

Okay fellow movie geeks! Ready for a bit of pop culture history? Before you head out to the multiplex this weekend to see Paramount’s Captain America: The First Avenger, let’s get better acquainted with the story of this star-spangled superhero. Pencils ready! This may be on the finals!
Let.s go back a few years to Cap.s original glory days. He literally exploded on the comic scene in 1941 with Captain America Comics #1 from Timely Comics. That company had been trying to carve out a slice of the big super hero comics market pie since National Periodicals had caused a sensation with Superman in 1938 and Batman the following year. In 1939 they had a big seller with Marvel Mystery Comics #1 and introduced their two breakaway stars: The Human Torch and The Sub-Mariner. Who would come up with the next great super hero?...
