AMC appears to be "all in" when it comes to bringing Anne Rice's work to television. Could Interview with the Vampire be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Interview With the Vampire Season 2 Episode 1, “What Can the Damned Really Say to the Damned.”] Interview With the Vampire is back. The Season 2 premiere brought Louis (Jacob Anderson), Claudia (Delainey Hayles), and the ghost of Lestat (Sam Reid) to Europe as they search for more of their kind. The episode ended with a beautiful, heartbreaking monologue from Louis in which he made an important pact with his daughter, one that serves as the jumping off point for the entire season’s arc. In the video above, Anderson, Reid, and Hayles break down that scene, what it was like to film it, and why it’s so important for the plot moving forward. Louis and Claudia had a harrowing experience in Romania both before and after they found the old world vampires. After four years of searching (notice the time jump from the Season 1 finale!), they finally found ...

After an intoxicating and almost flawless first effort, Interview with the Vampire returns with a few new items to start the latest season.
Louis and Claudia, having left New Orleans and Lestat behind, are now traversing around Europe during Interview with the Vampire Season 2 Episode 1 to find others like them.
It's a treacherous journey that sees them travel in silence for many years, frustrated, cold, and subsisting off "bad" blood, but eventually lands them in a place that will undoubtedly shape their vampire lives.
Before we dive into the happenings of the first hour, this is the part where I remind all of you loyal readers that I never read the source material, so I may not know where things might go or specific backstories if they aren't explained on-screen.

AMC masterfully transposes Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire from unique literary expression to a cinematic episodic television experience. As series creator and executive producer Rolin Jones told an enthusiastic crowd at an advance screening at the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan, these are two different art forms, with their own artistic needs and devotees. Changes are necessary for the proper telling, and the contemporary audience at large.
Claudia is five years old in the 1976 book. Her age is the very heart of the story because Anne Rice wrote the novel while mourning the death of her daughter, Michele. Modern sensitivities resist the tortured distinction, and the network provides respectful distance. The series’ acting part is even updated, with Delainey Hayles taking the young vampire role originally portrayed by Bailey Bass. There are several alterations in the adaptation...

Sunday’s second season premiere finds Louis and Claudia traversing the European countryside in search of others like them. This post contains spoilers for AMC's "Interview with the Vampire."
What is the price of being immortal? The true bane of immortality is erosion, where memories elongate and distort over time, and our perceptions of people ebb and flow with the power of hindsight and the lull of nostalgia. If an immortal were to narrate their lives on record, recount every delightful and traumatic memory in vivid detail, would these accounts be considered "truth"? This crucial question lies at the heart of the season 2 premiere of "Interview with the Vampire," which builds on the slanted truth of its first season and deepens the distortions of experiencing emotions that never end.
The AMC show has already proven its ingenuity in adapting a classic novel series that is beloved and controversial. It has identified the core appeal of Anne Rice's "The Vampire Chronicles" by leaning on the novel series' danger-tinged...

Following its critically acclaimed first season, AMC’s “Interview with the Vampire” is back for round two, and the Gothic drama based on Anne Rice’s beloved novels remains one of TV’s best and brightest despite the inherent darkness within.
The new season (premiering Sunday at 9/8c on AMC and AMC+) picks up in the aftermath of the jaw-dropping reveal that closed out the show’s freshman outing: Louis’ (Jacob Anderson) loyal assistant Rashid is actually his vampire lover, Armand (Assad Zaman). Once again the show makes excellent use of its unique interview framing to jump between multiple timelines as Louis weaves a complicated tale for journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian), one that explores his relationships with both Armand and Claudia, beginning with their adventures in Paris in the 1940s.

Plot: As Louis and Claudia escape to Paris after killing Lestat, and are ready to embark on new relationships in the new city. But they find themselves in a world influenced by Lestat, especially when they join the Theatre de Vampires, a performing group found by Lestat.
Review: Timed perfectly to Halloween, the 2022 debut of Interview with the Vampire beautifully updated the first volume in Anne Rice’s vast series for a new generation. With a young cast and a more overt take on the homoerotic elements of the novels, AMC’s series was designed to kickstart a cinematic universe of adaptations from the author’s works. While Mayfair Witches did not work as well, the second season of Interview with the Vampire is a welcome return to the stories of Louis, Claudia, Lestat, and more. Billed as “Part II,” the second season chronicles the back half of Rice’s novel.

Horror takes a back seat to passion in AMC’s ravishingly voluptuous adaptation of Anne Rice’s Gothic masterpiece Interview with the Vampire. Elegant and literate even at its most ghoulish, the seductive second season even adds a theatrical flourish to its bag of dazzling tricks. “Are you kidding me?” scoffs the all-too-mortal interviewer, Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). “It’s a telenovela!” he barks, when the undead Louis de Pointe du Lac (suave Jacob Anderson) reaches a particularly florid twist in his story of nocturnal searching and yearning. The new chapter takes him and his eternally young and hormonally frustrated “daughter” Claudia to Europe, fleeing New Orleans and the chaos that appears to have claimed Louis’ centuries-old lover Lestat (Sam Reid). We first encounter them amid the carnage of human warfare in World War II, exploring their ancestral lands and seeking evidence of their kind while feeding on the flesh of soldiers.

Just like you’d find in a bar, random questions are written on each block, some with a TV twist. By the time Kirsten Dunst appeared in Interview with the Vampire, she had already worked with the likes of Woody Allen and Brian De Palma. But her performance as Claudia in Neil Jordan’s Interview with the Vampire was her true breakout, marking her as one of the most promising newcomers in Hollywood. And between Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, she pretty much had any pre-teen girl’s idea of dreamboat co-stars. Thirty years on, however, Kirsten Dunst doesn’t just see the men as hunks but rather truly giving and protective souls.
Tom Cruise may have already been a superstar and Brad Pitt right on the cusp of being Brad f*ckin’ Pitt, but Kirsten Dunst remembered that they were as down to earth as any vampires could be. “I was very protected on set. I don’t think I even watched the whole movie. I sat there and...

You asked, and Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid answered. So did Delainey Hayles, Eric Bogosian, and Assad Zaman! In TV Insider’s exclusive interview (embedded above), the stars of AMC‘s Interview With the Vampire Season 2 answer fan questions submitted to us on social media. It’s a tale as old as time. Boy meets vampire. Boy becomes vampire. Vampires become a messy couple, adopt a teen vampire who grows to hate them, and someone ends up getting their throat slashed during a gory, garish 1939 Mardi Gras party. Well, maybe not as old as time, but definitely as old as Anne Rice’s seminal 1976 gothic bestseller, Interview With the Vampire. And in AMC’s luscious, pitch-perfect adaptation, which is returning for its second season, Rice’s iconic characters—New Orleans scion Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson); the cruel, sexually voracious, centuries-old bloodsucker who turned him, Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid); and their perpetual-adolescent “daughter” Claudia (Delainey Hayles)—are heading abroad to tackle the novel’s brutal second half. “I’d say actually Part 2 is even more faithful to the book than the first season in many ways,” previews Game of Thrones alum Anderson.

“Guilty, or not guilty?” That is the question on Santiago’s (Ben Daniels) lips in the newest Interview With the Vampire Season 2 teaser. In the new teaser, Santiago, the leading vampire thespian of the Théâtres des Vampires in Paris, recites the “Laws of the Vampire,” one of the most important being that no vampire can kill another. “I don’t know another character like this.” So says Delainey Hayles, Interview With the Vampire‘s new Claudia, who takes over the once-in-a-lifetime role from Bailey Bass in Season 2. Hayles had very little time between booking the role and the start of filming, she tells TV Insider. Her guiding light (her “spark in the dark“) through the quick turnaround was Anne Rice’s 1976 novel, and her onscreen vampire family, Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid. Given the attention to every lush detail in both Rice’s novel and Rolin Jones‘ AMC adaptation, Hayles tell us that “it was very clear how I was going to approach Claudia.” Translating Bass’ performance into her own was an exciting challenge. “I think Bailey did an amazing job in Season 1,” Hayles says of her predecessor. She was “able to pick up where [Bailey] left off” because of how clearly established that fledgling vampire was. Anderson...

Interview with the Vampire Season 2: Cast, plot, premiere date, and everything else there is to know
The timeless love story at the heart of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire won many fans in 2022, but with increased delays for the second season, a lot has changed during the extended hiatus.
It’s rare for a vampire drama to offer more than it borrows from the genre, but the show managed to break through armed with many of Anne Rice’s unique storylines from the novel series.
At the time of its launch, AMC was losing The Walking Dead as the long-running zombie drama signed off after 11 seasons, so new franchises were in demand by the cabler.
Interview with the Vampire broke through with critical acclaim. The show garnered plenty of praise and solid ratings, resulting in a very early renewal for Season 2.
Now that new episodes are approaching, we must review everything we know about the upcoming season.
Get all the details below.

This article contains spoilers from Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles novels.
The latest Interview with the Vampire season 2 trailers feature Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac, tyrannically dictating the story of his undeath to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). The ancient vampire won’t lighten the historical weight buried in cryptic footnotes covered in blood. The contemporary talks are set in Prague, but recent clips extend grand theatrical overtures.
Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire season 2 will open with a new Parisian location, and fresh blood. AMC’s playbill says the part of Claudia has been recast with Delainey Hayles. Roxane Duran joins as the dollmaker Madeleine, a tragic figure with worse pains to suffer. The latest trailer also features a new, albeit secondary, antagonist, Santiago (Ben Daniels). The prime antagonist is, of course, a series protagonist, the vampire other vampires love to hate but remains the...

If you’ve been theorizing that Armand has a hand in the suppression of Louis’ painful memories in AMC‘s Interview With the Vampire, the newest trailer for Season 2 adds more fuel for that fire. Louis’ memories come flooding back in the new Interview With the Vampire Season 2 trailer, released during The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live finale on Sunday, March 31, and they’re a doozy. We see Claudia (Delainey Hayles) scream, “It’s never been about me!” from the Théâtres des Vampires stage, her face bruised and bloodied, Louis attacking Lestat (Sam Reid) in a fit of rage, and more painful moments as Jacob Anderson‘s troubled vampire tells Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) they need to “get every detail right” in their Dubai interview. It’s a gut-wrenching experience for him as “all those years” start “coming back.” Claudia is initiated into the Parisian vampire coven, which Armand...

What’s more dangerous than interviewing a vampire? Interviewing two. Interview With the Vampire Season 2 has unveiled a tense new clip of the Dubai interview, and things aren’t looking good for Eric Bogosian‘s Daniel Molloy. As previously announced, Interview With the Vampire Season 2 premieres Sunday, May 12 at 9/8c on AMC and AMC+. In the scene above, Louis (Jacob Anderson) and Claudia (Delainey Hayles) are sitting at a café in Paris. They’re speaking telepathically at first, as these vampires can, discussing why Louis has fallen in love with photography. When they finally speak out loud, Claudia asks, “Who are you, Louis?” “I’m your brother,” he replies. “Who are you outside of me?” He calls himself a reticent vampire in a playful response, but Claudia gets serious when asking about Lestat (Sam Reid). “If there was no me, and there was no him, who would you be?
