Richard Cousins was born on June 1, 1972 in Kent. After making a series of promos for broadcast channels, Richard Cousins went on to work as a commercial and television promotions director. He has won over 30 awards for his work, 5 for Best Director. These awards include The Los Angeles Movie Awards Best Director (2016), Catalina Film Festival Awards (2015), The California Film festival Awards (2015), The Paragon Film Festival (2015), UNDPI (United Nations) Special Gong Award (2014), the New York Festival advertising awards (2013, 2012 & 2007). Shark Advertising awards (2007 & 2005), the Summit Creative Awards (2006) and the London International Film awards (2005). In 2011 Richard began his transition from commercials to film. He won the John Brabourne 'New Talent' award and Best Director at the San Francisco Short Film Festival for his first short film 'Trailing Dirt'. Richard has recently completed his latest WW1 short film. 'Waiting for Dawn' was shot on 35mm and has won over 11 awards recently winning Best Director, Best Narrative, Best Cinematography, Best Actor, Best Production Design & Best Costume at the 2016 Los Angeles Movie Awards.
