Tyler Cook was born in 1986 in Canton, Ohio and raised in Magnolia,
Ohio. His mother was an elementary school teacher named Terri Cook. His
father, Mark D. Cook, worked as a trader at his own investment company:
Walnut Tree Capitol in East Sparta, Ohio. He has an older sister
Rachel, a younger sister Morgan and a younger brother Ryan. At Sandy
Valley High School, Cook was involved in sports, specifically baseball
and basketball. He excelled at baseball and broke several school
records. However, after losing interest in the sport he chose not to
pursue it on a collegiate level despite recruitment letters from the
Miami Hurricanes of Florida. Cook attended Miami University in Oxford,
Ohio but later transferred to Kent State University, where he graduated
with a degree in Communication Studies and a concentration on
Interpersonal Communication. Each summer he traded the futures markets
with his father. In addition, he once spent an entire semester off of
school to focus on trading. While enrolled at Kent State, Cook was an
active member in his fraternity. He was the philanthropy chairman, who
coordinated a charitable event within the Greek community to raise
funds for terminally ill children. Cook studied acting at Kent and at
the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.
