Valerio Tarricone is Lead FX with more than 10 years of experience between VFX and Animation, now working at Skydance Animation based in Barcelona on Pookoo and Spellbound for Netflix.
Recently he was Senior FX Technical Director at Sony Pictures Imageworks working on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for Marvel Studios, before he was Senior FX Artist at Cinesite in Vancouver working on the animation movie The Addams Family 2 for MGM. Previously he was Senior FX Technical Director at EDI Effetti Digitali Italiani working on the tv series Romulus for Sky and ITV. Earlier he was working for Ingenuity Studios on the music videos Wonder for Shawn Mendes and Rain on Me for Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande and the tv series The Good Lord Bird for SHOWTIME and Scanline VFX working on Godzilla vs. Kong for Legendary Pictures - Warner Bros and The Rescue for Tencent Pictures. Before he was FX Lead at PIXOMONDO working on the tv series See and For All Mankind for Apple TV+, The Orville season 2 for FOX. Previously Siren season 2 for Freeform, Disney ABC Television Group and the feature movie A Dog's Way Home for Columbia Pictures - Sony. He recently finished to work as FX Lead on Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween at PIXOMONDO for Sony Pictures Animation and on Game of Thrones season 8 for HBO.
Previously he was employed as FX TD by Double Negative in Vancouver working on Pacific Rim Uprising for Legendary Pictures, most recently he worked on Blade Runner 2049 for Alcon Entertainment - Warner Bros and The Mummy for Universal Pictures before Fast & Furious 8 for Universal Pictures and Wonder Woman for DC Entertainment, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them for Warner Bros, Star Trek Beyond for Paramount Pictures and The Huntsman: Winter's War for Universal Pictures.
Before he was FX TD at MPC in Montréal working on the feature film Fantastic Four for 20th Century Fox.
Valerio has completed the MA in Digital Effects graduate with Merit at Bournemouth University National Centre for Computer Animation.
He has collaborated as 3D Generalist for Variant Office, Design Studio based in London. Earlier he has completed the FX Intern at The Brewery VFX in London where he worked on the Fluid simulations as Fire, Smoke plus RBD and Cloth dynamics for the ITV serial The Great Fire. Previously he has been employed as Junior FX Generalist Artist for Rock Paper Film and as Junior FX Artist at the Cross Channel Film Lab. An artist to the core, he holds a degree in BA Graphic Design and Multimedia from LABA Academy of Fine Arts, a Diploma in Animation 2D / 3D from Nemo NT Academy of Digital Arts and a Diploma in Sculpture from AD'A Academy of Art. In his home city of Florence, Valerio worked as Graphic Design Assistant at contemporary artist, Patrizio Travagli's studio, where he worked on several projects like developing 3D models for light sculptures, producing web sites.
He is inspired by the artist Michelangelo "Caravaggio" Merisi and by the french poet Charles Baudelaire.
