She studied drama and fine art in Paris, made her acting debut on the stage in 1963 and secured her first film role in Louis Malle's The Thief of Paris (1967) in 1966. Her big break came with her casting as "Elisabeth" in Jean-Luc Godard's Masculine Feminine (1966), in which she performed alongside Brigitte Bardot and Jean-Pierre Léaud, and other high profile roles in star-studded casts followed. Soraya was born in Algeria, but grew up in the South of France in a healthy mixture of Algerian, Spanish and French cultures (she speaks French, English and Spanish fluently). She started training as an actress in Montpellier, then went to the City Lit Institute in London before going back to France, this time training at Acting International School of Acting in Paris. She worked for French actor Patrick Timsit as a rehearsal study for his TV film 'Landru'. But an opportunity to move to L.A. came up and she took it!
In Los Angeles, Soraya first continued training and then started working as a Producer and Voice Artist for E!News France. In parallel to her pursuing a career in film, Soraya started developing her educational web series "Oh La La, Hollywood Speaks French!". She also wrote/produced/starred in a short film entitled "I'm not an Accent". In Paris, she was cast in Joseph Cahill's feature film, "Meta", and shot commercials, short films and a web series.
Soraya lives in Los Angeles. She works regularly as a voice actress and has recorded several audio books in French - American thrillers by Sophie Love, Fiona Grace and Blake Pierce, published by Lukeman Literary Agency.
