“General Hospital” led night one of the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards, winning four prizes — including the outstanding daytime drama Emmy. “General Hospital” won the top daytime drama award for the fourth year in a row.
“Gh” took an early lead as proceedings got underway, including writing, directing and supporting actor performance in a daytime drama series (Robert Gossett as Marshall Ashford). While accepting the honor for daytime drama directing, the show’s team paid tribute to Johnny Wactor, the former “Gh” performer who was recently killed.
Besides Gossett from “Gh,” daytime acting awards were spread out among several shows, with CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” winning two — for lead actress (Michelle Stafford as Phyllis Summers) and supporting actress (Courtney Hope as Sally Spectra). CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” won the drama actor for Thorsten Kaye as Ridge Forrester, who also won last year.

While a vast amount of work goes into every single one of Golda Rosheuvel’s wigs in Bridgerton, one, in particular, took especially long to design and get approved.
In season 3 of the hit Netflix series, Rosheuvel’s Queen Charlotte wears a wig complete with motorized swans that appear like they’re swimming in a body of water. During an appearance on The View with co-star Luke Thompson, the actress revealed that it took a few years to make that wig.
“Erika [Ökvist], our designer, an amazing human being, a talent beyond talent, her brain is so messed up with ideas,” the actress said when asked about the motorized hair ensemble. “Some of the ideas I had to go, ‘No!’ At one point, she wanted a boat — a full ship — on my head, and I was like, ‘It’s not going to work, babe.'”

On a recent episode of The View, Joy Behar shared a humorous exchange she had with her co-host Sunny Hostin. During the conversation, Hostin jokingly inquired whether Behar was present during the historic D-Day invasion. Behar laughed off the question, replying, I’m not that old. This playful banter between the co-hosts highlighted the camaraderie typical of the show. This lighthearted moment occurred while the hosts were discussing various events surrounding D-Day. Notably, President Joe Biden recently participated in commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings. He said, We must remember that the fact that they were heroes here...

Alyssa Farah Griffin decided to share a very personal anecdote on Thursday’s edition of The View. During the first “Hot Topics” segment, cohosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, and Griffin talked about Republican senators’ decision to block a Democrat-led bill that would’ve federally protected access to contraceptives. While the others discussed the legitimate concerns Americans have over access to reproductive options being hindered by the Supreme Court overturning Roe V. Wade, Griffin decided to share her very intimate reason for believing birth control access is simply a matter of “basic health care.” “I will say this: On a personal note, I was on birth control years before I was sexually active, for heavy, painful menstrual cramps,” Griffin explained, adding that she even had a traumatic experience with her pain during her tenure as a Trump administration official. “I remember meeting in the Pentagon with pain...

Despite the Memorial Day holiday, during which most shows were coded as specials and are therefore not factored into the weekly averages except for “The Price is Right” (3.666 million / 4.246 million), the week of May 27-31, 2024 was not a good one for daytime broadcast.
Currently in its 15th season, “Let’s Make a Deal” (1.923 million / 2.293 million) hit a series low among Total Viewers, with the first half-hour falling below two million viewers for the first time and the second half-hour attracting numbers in line with what the first half-hour had been averaging for most of the season. Both half-hours had the biggest week-to-week decline among Total Viewers, losing -100,000 viewers and -92,000 viewers, respectively. They rekindled their past flame in 2021 and tied the knot in 2022. Unfortunately, divorce rumors loom over Lopez and Affleck — and Lopez’s on-and-off friend, Leah Remini, allegedly told Lopez that she found Affleck to be a “selfish” partner.
Leah Remini allegedly told Jennifer Lopez that Ben Affleck wasn’t ‘fully committed’ as a husband
Leah Remini and Jennifer Lopez go way back. Lopez met the King of Queens star in 2004, and the two bonded immediately. Remini stayed close friends with Lopez through the years, even commenting on wanting to become godparents to Lopez’s twins. Remini also celebrated Lopez’s 47th birthday in Las Vegas, and they co-starred in Second Act together in 2018.

Michael Richards is ready to make audiences laugh again with the release of his new autobiography Entrances and Exits. But first, he’s addressing the elephant in the room. On Tuesday, the Emmy-winning Seinfeld star made the talk show rounds to promote his book, which hit shelves the same day, on The Today Show and The View, and he revisited the incident that largely ended his TV career. And according to Richards, he wasn’t canceled by anyone other than himself. In 2006, Richards was performing at the Laugh Factory and was heckled by a Black audience member. In response, he reportedly shouted the “n-word” in describing the man. Witnesses said he also verbally assailed other members of the crowd with racially insensitive language. After that, Richards explained to Today host Hoda Kotb, he decided to bow out of show business. “Anger had a hold of me. I canceled myself out,...

Update, with video: Michael Richards visited The View today and revisited the 2006 racist comedy club outburst that led to a decades-long withdrawal from the public eye.
Greeted with a warm “Welcome back, man,” by old friend and View moderator Whoopi Goldberg, Richards, promoting his new memoir Entrances and Exits, and the panelists wasted little time before addressing the still-hot topic.
Co-host Sunny Hostin broached the subject: “Let me just start by saying I don’t believe in cancel culture, I believe in consequence culture, and you’ve paid a lot of consequences.” She then asked what he was thinking at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles in 2006 when he responded to a Black heckler with a repeated use of the n-word.

Following his debut as Helmut Zemo in the 2017 film Captain America: Civil War, Daniel Brühl reprised his role in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier alongside Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie. In an impassioned appeal, President Joe Biden’s wife, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, has called on Americans to “choose good over evil” by supporting her husband in the upcoming 2024 election.
In an interview on ABC’s The View, the first lady offered a glimpse into the administration’s campaign strategy and addressed concerns about the president’s age.
With emphasis on the high stakes of the election, Jill asserted, “This election is not about age. I mean, Donald Trump‘s going to be, what? 78? Joe’s 81. They’re basically the same age, right? But it’s about character. This election is about character, so you have two choices — you have my husband, Joe, who you all know, who has integrity, he’s strong, he’s steady, he’s a leader, he’s smart, he’s energetic — or you have chaos.”

All six stars of The View hit the table for Friday’s very unique episode for one reason: “Don’t adjust your TV set. Yes, I’m here on a Friday because this is a very unique moment in history,” Whoopi Goldberg explained. “That’s why we’re all at the table.” Unlike most days, there wasn’t a varied list of “Hot Topics” for the team to discuss; the only thing to talk about was the conviction of Donald Trump on 34 felonies in New York Thursday. And, as expected, they each had a lot of feelings about the subject — with some being positively giddy and others finding it to be a “somber” development. “I’m gonna say something you’ve never heard me say before, but Donald John Trump is now a convicted felon,” Goldberg said to start things off with a nod to her reticence to say his name.

“Do not adjust your TV set,” Whoopi Goldberg said at the start of today’s The View. “Yes, I’m here on a Friday because this is a very unique moment in history.”
Goldberg, who usually has Fridays off from the ABC daytime talk show, then offered up her own unique moment in history.
“I’m going to say something you’ve never heard me say before,” she said mock-solemnly, “but Donald John Trump is a convicted felon.”
For years, Goldberg has refused to say Trump’s name on the show, a running joke in which she refers to him only as You Know Who.

But it was co-host Sunny Hostin, the show’s resident lawyer and legal expert, who drew the biggest gasps from the studio audience when she predicted a one-year prison sentence for Trump.

Sara Haines is a mainstay on the popular talk show The View, but that doesn’t stop her from branching out and working on other shows.
Sara took time away from The View to work with John Quinones for a What Would You Do episode.
This beloved show puts real people in moral dilemma scenarios to see if they will do the right thing, and Sara was excited to be a part of the process.
Now, it seems like Sara may be teasing a return of another of her shows, a game show this time.
Sara has hosted the reboot of The Chase since 2021. Season 3 of the reboot finished last July, and everyone is wondering if the show will be renewed.
The Sun reports that past contestant Victoria Groce, recently on Jeopardy Masters, has shared that The Chase is not renewed or canceled, making what Sara shared on Instagram more relevant.

Recently, Andy was on Live to share the exciting news that Watch What Happens Live has been on the air for a whopping 15 years.
One of the things that excited Andy about this appearance was the chance to try to play an informal game of Stump Mark against Mark Consuelos.
The last time Andy co-hosted with his best friend, Kelly, he seemed to love beating a call-in contestant in the game that Mark usually hosts.
Perhaps Andy’s thoughts were on that game when Kelly thought she committed a big faux pax with Andy’s interview.

Sunny Hostin has been working overtime lately while promoting her newest book, Summer on Highland Beach.
She has been on several other talk shows these past few weeks, including her usual gig at The View, and there are no signs she is slowing down anytime soon.
Sunny has been married to Manny for 25 years and has two children, Gabriel and Paloma. Her kids are now at college, which has made her home much quieter lately.
While Sunny stopped by the Live with Kelly and Mark set, Kelly Ripa took the time to dish out some much-needed advice for Sunny.
Kelly and Mark Consuelos have recently become empty-nesters, as all three of their children are out of the house either working, singing, or attending college.
While Sunny came to the show to promote her newest book, she seems to have gotten some great advice from Kelly about getting through this time in her life.

First Lady Jill Biden swatted away suggestions that President Joe Biden is too old for the job, saying on ABC’s The View today that her husband, at 81, is “about the same age” as the assumed challenger Donald Trump, who turns 78 in two weeks.

“You have to believe [Trump],” she continued, “when he uses words like ‘dictator,’ ‘bloodbath,’ ‘third term,’ ‘violence.’ We’ve seen it, so when he says these words believe him, don’t think this isn’t going to happen.”
Asked about polls that put Trump ahead of Biden, the First Lady said, “Those polls are going to turn, I’m confident of it, because as time goes on and people start to focus a little bit more about what’s at stake and start to become educated on the issues and the differences between the two men,...

The setting of the story is, like the first two novels in her “Summer Beach” series, located at a historically Black beach. This time, it’s Highland Beach, where Hostin visited and was told by locals it is “sacred” territory thanks to its centuries-old connection to Frederick Douglass.
