Sex & Nudity

  • The main story is a girl trying to get her first kiss.
  • A girl makes out passionately with a tree, pretending it is a guy.
  • A young girl, approximately ten years old, prays for God to send her someone to make out with. She then imitates the kind of tongue kissing she would like to do with the guy, given the opportunity.
  • Teenage girls are seen in cheerleading outfits.
  • Mary Katherine screams "I'm not a slut!" over and over while imitating a movie.
  • Mary Katherine often jumps around, revealing her white underpants under her skirt. Also, there's a scene where she gets into a physical fight with a cheerleader, and the cheerleader's underwear is seen, too.
  • A teenage girl references her "titties" a few times.
  • Two teenage girls argue and one of them tells the other to give a Dutch kiss to her boyfriend.

Violence & Gore

  • Mary Katherine and her classmates are called "retard" several times.
  • The death of Mary Katherine's parents is shown. It is implied that they were trampled by several people after falling down on a stage during an intense dance sequence. Blood is seen splashing all over, but it is obviously fake, and we don't see the parents' bodies. It is over-exaggerated and intended to be funny.
  • A teenage boy at school is rumored to be a murderer.
  • Mary Katherine gets into a violent fight with a classmate. The two girls slap each other several times, knock each other to the ground, and sometimes use objects while doing this, including hardcover books. Mary Katherine literally drags the girl out of the room by her hair. No blood or bruises are shown, but there is a lot of screaming.

Profanity

  • 1 use of bastard, boobs, and fuck 2 uses of oh god, dear god and tits 3 uses of shit 1 paired with bull and suck 4 uses of hell and oh my god 5 uses of ass 7 uses of retard 11 uses of slut in one scene
  • Maria (the satanic catholic schoolgirl) sings The Devil Went Down to Georgia at the talent show audition. She sings the lyrics wrong and she sings "the devil's got a big hard.." and gets interrupted by the priest/principal. It might be implied she was gonna say "cock".
  • Many uses of retard.
  • Some other occasional language, including "ass", "shit", and "suck". The F word is used once by Mary Katherine's grandmother.
  • A teenage girl refers to her breasts as "titties" two times.
  • This may not count as profanity, necessarily, but the characters poke fun at Christianity throughout the movie. For example, teenagers sing songs such as "John the Baptist lost his head!" This may be considered offensive to some.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There is a scene of how Mary's parents were actually killed. They were trampled to death by stepdancers and blood squirts all over the dancers. Viewers may find it a little disturbing.
  • A teenage boy is rumored to be a murderer and that he killed his parents but we later find out that he didn't kill his parents and that he's afraid people will make fun of his stuttering.
  • Although a comedy movie. Religious viewers may find Maria (the satanic catholic schoolgirl) scary.
