The film adaptation of the game Ghost of Tsushima is currently being discussed. A film adaptation of the game was first announced by Sony back in March 2021, and it has been a mystery since. It was later reported that Chad Stahelski would be directing it. Stahelski is also on board to produce alongside Alex Young and Jason Spitz of 87Eleven Entertainment.

The recently released ‘Shōgun’ has received widespread praise from critics, earning a 99% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an 85 out of 100 on Metacritic. Critics appreciated its visual appeal, cultural authenticity, and adaptation quality. The acting performances were particularly highlighted, making it one of the standout shows of 2024.
It’s no surprise that the cast of this mega-hit is currently in the spotlight, with Hiroyuki Sanada taking center stage. Sanada portrays Lord Yoshii Toranaga, a strong military leader and ruler of the Kantō region. As one of the five Regents governing Japan for the young heir of the late Taikō, Toranaga is a descendant of the Minowara clan (Minamoto clan), who historically held the position of shōguns.
Variety recently interviewed Sanada about his future plans. During the conversation, the interviewer presented him with options among major Hollywood franchises such as Star Wars and Marvel. Sanada’s response was quite intriguing:

There's an entire generation of movie lovers who first encountered Jackie Chan in the "Rush Hour" films. The actor, director and stuntsman didn't have a huge love for the franchise at the time, perhaps because they barely scratched the surface of what he was capable of as a choreographer. Still, his buddy cop films hold a special place in the hearts of countless action fans, and his rapport with co-star Chris Tucker isn't half bad, either.
The "Rush Hour" trilogy hasn't aged the best in the intervening years, thanks in part to its director, Brett Ratner, who was accused of sexual misconduct in 2017. The film's "East meets West" humor would also never fly today, making the franchise something of a time capsule for irreverent, 2000s humor. Still, we could never get enough of Chan and Tucker — that's why we're all still holding out for that potential "Rush Hour 4." While...

Actor Hiroyuki Sanada has been working in Hollywood for nearly two decades. The actor has never been at the forefront of any of his projects, instead featuring in supporting roles or being overshadowed by his co-stars. However, that notion seems to be changing with Sanada leading the cast of FX’s Shogun, an epic period drama series loosely based on the brutal and violent history of Japan.
Hiroyuki Sanada in The Last Samurai
In the series, Sanada stars as Lord Yoshii Toranaga, and is receiving heaps of praise from fans for his work. While the series has impressed critics and viewers alike, Sanada’s riveting performance has been considered the anchoring factor of Shogun. Here is how fans are reacting to Sanada’s acting in the series and why it will finally change the perception of the actor in Hollywood.

In the world of buddy cop comedies, the "Rush Hour" franchise remains a standout. The odd coupling of a reserved chief inspector from Hong Kong and a fast-talking LAPD officer sparked three action-packed, hilarious films popular the world over, amassing over $850 million at the global box office.
Across the three films, Chief Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan) and Detective James Carter (Chris Tucker) solve cases in Hong Kong and the U.S., even paying a brief visit to France, typically involving the Triads and government officials. And while the trilogy offers adrenaline-inducing action sequences, it's the comedic chemistry between the two actors that has endured.
When the first installment of "Rush Hour" debuted in 1998, North American audiences had just become acquainted with Chan following the success of "Rumble in the Bronx," while films like "Friday" and "The Fifth Element" highlighted Tucker as an emerging comedic voice. Their natural banter won audiences...

The original Max series “Full Circle” debuts on July 13. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the new drama investigates a kidnapping gone wrong in New York, revealing the secrets and lies of multiple characters. Or as the trailer warns: “Everything is connected.” The six-episode limited series stars Zazie Beetz, Claire Danes, Jim Gaffigan, Jharrel Jerome, Timothy Olyphant, and Dennis Quaid.
Watch the “Full Circle” trailer:
The four-part documentary “Last Call: When A Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York” is set in the early 1990s as the AIDS crisis worsens. The media’s distorted coverage of the gay victims, coupled with the homophobic biases of the criminal justice system, undermine the investigation. The docuseries — which premieres on Max on July 9 — illustrates how the LGBTQ+ community fought to solve the murders and demand attention for those murdered.

Jackie Chan has signed on to star in A Legend, a martial arts fantasy-adventure movie which will be a sequel to his 2005 movie The Myth.
The sequel to The Myth will find Jackie Chan reprising his role as archaeology expert Professor Chen. “The film’s action begins when he notices that the texture on the artifacts discovered by his students during a glacier expedition is strikingly similar to a jade pendant he had seen in his dreams,” reads the description. “Suspecting that the pendant is acting as a bridge between the realm of dreams and reality, Professor Chen leads his research team on a journey deep into the Glacier Temple, embarking on a fantastical adventure.” A Legend will be directed by Stanley Tong, a long-time collaborator of Chan who has helmed Police Story 3, Rumble in the Bronx, and The Myth.

There is not a more fearless action star on the planet than Tony Jaa. Ever since making his bone-bruising debut in the relentlessly entertaining "Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior," Jaa's presence in a movie means you're in for full-tilt martial arts combat that's as punishing to film as it is exhilarating to watch.
Jaa earned the most valued seal of approval in the action filmmaking community when Jackie Chan called him "the most well-rounded of all action stars." Alas, Jaa was unable to realize the dream of acting alongside his hero in "Rush Hour 3" (which is for the best given the ghastly quality of the film), but the indestructible Thai star continues to press ever forward. It’s been over fifteen years since Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker had their last Rush Hour misadventure, but there’s been talk of a sequel all that time. Jackie Chan confirmed last year that he was in talks for Rush Hour 4, and now Chris Tucker has added that he’s “definitely” ready to return as well.
Chris Tucker spoke to Audacy’s V-103 (via Variety) to tease a few of his upcoming projects, including Rush Hour 4. “You’re going to see a lot of good stuff coming, but it’s going to be on a whole other level,” Tucker said. “That’s what I like… I’m excited about that. Quentin Tarantino and Chris Tucker once collaborated on the 1997 feature Jackie Brown. And although Jackie Brown remains one of the comedian’s most memorable roles, it’s one film Tucker would avoid doing again.

Tucker became very selective and cautious of the types of movies he did after becoming an A-list star. Once best known for his role in Friday, the comedian saw much success with his Rush Hour movies. But he didn’t want his career to peak with his and Jackie Chain’s comedy series. Instead, he planned to increase his film resume with other meaningful projects.
“When I got to Rush Hour, I felt like: O.K., I’ve proven myself as the pinnacle,” he once told the New York Times. “Now where’s all the bigger movies?...

It has been 15 years since "Rush Hour 3" underwhelmed moviegoers worldwide, and underperformed at the worldwide box office to the tune of 258 million on an obscenely bloated 140 million budget, and absolutely no one is clamoring for more -- save for Jackie Chan. The tireless, seemingly indestructible movie star might've turned 68 this year, but he's still in superb physical shape, and game to risk life and limb (within reason) for our viewing pleasure.
Jackie is a marvel. He's made some of the greatest action movies of all time, and, at the age of 68, has more than earned the right to wind down as he enters his later years. And yet I'd be disappointed if the Energizer Bunny of martial arts stars up and quit the business while he's still upright. Making movies is his lifeblood. I fully expect him to be at it in his nineties like Clint Eastwood.

The hierarchy of power in the DC universe is about to change, or so says The Rock. That's because "Black Adam" is finally hitting theaters after being stuck in development for years (and years). Dwayne Johnson has been attached to the role for a very long time, but through persistence and a lot of shifts behind the scenes at DC Films, this one finally came to fruition, with director Jaume Collet-Serra ("Jungle Cruise") behind the camera. But now for the ever-important question: do moviegoers have to sit through the credits?
Well, dear reader, we are here to answer that question and let you know in spoiler-free fashion whether or not the movie has a post-credits scene, or scenes, of any kind. That way, you can plan those bathroom breaks accordingly. Again, we will not spoil anything here so read on with ease. Let's get into it.

Congrats, everyone! We’ve finally made it to another spooky season. To celebrate, Netflix is highlighting its best horror content on its list of new releases for October 2022.
It wouldn’t be October on Netflix without a new Mike Flanagan title. Thankfully the Midnight Mass showrunner returns with The Midnight Club on Oct. 7. This series, adapted from a book of the same name, takes place in a hospice for terminally ill teens who have all made a gruesome pact. This series will be followed up by other creepy TV titles like Unsolved Mysteries Vol. 3 on Oct. 18, 28 Days Haunted on Oct. 21, and most importantly: Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities on Oct. 25, which will collect eight terrifying stories from the famed director himself.

The Hollywood Reporter said during the panel discussion:
Johnson tackled an age-old question: who would win in a fight, Black Adam or Superman? Earlier in the week, rumors circulated that Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill might show up or send a video message for the panel, but that didn’t come to fruition.
Said the actor of a matchup between the DC characters: “Pound for pound, they are pretty close. I guess it probably all depends on who is playing Superman.

If you’ve been waiting to watch Christopher Nolan’s confounding sci-fi thriller “Tenet,” now is the time to finally get to it on your HBO Max watchlist. Nolan’s latest film is one of many movies leaving HBO Max in July, the full list of which you can read below.
Also leaving HBO and HBO Max this month is another Nolan classic, “Inception,” Baz Luhrmann’s “The Great Gatsby,” as well as two rom-com favorites “Bridget Jones’s Diary” and “You’ve Got Mail.”
If you’re looking to prioritize some selections, “American Gigolo” was Richard Gere’s break-out role — and it would be a good time to watch ahead of the upcoming TV series starring Jon Bernthal.

As the Hollywood blockbuster machine continues to dust itself off and release some early winter hits, Hulu is going in a bit of a different direction with its list of new releases for November 2021.
There are no big Hulu original films of note this month. Instead there’s a whole host of original series. The TV parade starts on Nov. 5 with the release of Animaniacs season 2. Also getting a second season this month is monarchal comedy The Great on Nov. 19. The most intriguing series, however, is animated Marvel comedy Marvel’s Hit Monkey. As its name so graciously implies, this is a show about a hit monkey…as in monkey assassin. Naturally the hit monkey is haunted by the ghost of Jason Sudeikis because it’s important that everything make sense.
Though Hulu doesn’t have any original movies in November, its list of library movie titles is quite vast.

Capturing the right musical ambiance for Billie Holiday in “The United States vs. Billie Holiday” was the product of a year-and-a-half of research and planning, even before shooting began in late 2019.
“These songs don’t sound like a record from that time,” executive music producer Salaam Remi tells Variety. “They sound like you’re in the room at that time. Stage and screen acting legend Max Von Sydow, who starred in The Seventh Seal and appeared in The Exorcist, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Flash Gordon, and Game of Thrones, died on March 8 at the age of 90, according to Variety.
“It is with a broken heart and with infinite sadness that we have the extreme pain of announcing the departure of Max von Sydow,” his wife, the producer Catherine Brelet, said in a statement.
Von Sydow made his Hollywood debut as Jesus in the 1965 Biblical epic The Greatest Story Ever Told. This gave him the authority to observe “if Jesus were alive today and saw what they are saying in his name, he would never stop throwing up” in Woody Allen’s 1986 film Hannah and Her Sisters. Von Sydow had the power to compel Satan as Father Merrin in William Friedkin’s 1973 horror classic The Exorcist and Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977), directed by John Boorman.

You were in many much more respected movies than Strange Brew and Flash Gordon but I loved you for those flicks first. https://t.co/ltytehF5Rm

Max von Sydow turned 90 this month, which is a milestone for most people, but age has always seemed incidental to the actor. When he played the elderly, frail Father Merrin in “The Exorcist,” von Sydow was 44 — meaning he was the same age Bradley Cooper is today.
In the 1950s, von Sydow had his big breakthrough in a trio of Ingmar Bergman films — “The Seventh Seal,” “Wild Strawberries” and “The Magician” — while still in his 20s, but with the wisdom and sadness of the world in his eyes. Von Sydow has appeared in such fan favorites as “Game of Thrones,” “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Rush Hour 3” and David Lynch’s “Dune.” But to most, he’s synonymous with his 11 films for Bergman and “The Exorcist.” In A.D. Murphy’s enthusiastic Variety review of the latter on Dec. 24, 1973, he said of von Sydow, “His performance is one of controlled dedication.

Are Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker finally set to reunite on the big screen for the long-discussed “Rush Hour 4”? The internet is abuzz after Tucker joined Chan in person over the weekend to celebrate the latter’s birthday. The two co-stars took a photo together holding up the number four with their hands, which has many speculating that the characters of Chief Inspector Lee and Detective James Carter are finally getting ready to make a comeback.
The last major “Rush Hour 4” update came in October 2017 when Chan said the script was finishing up in a good place and that if a sequel actually did happen, it would come down to Tucker agreeing on the story. “For the last seven years, we’ve been turning down the script, turning down the script,” Chan said at the time, “Yesterday, we just agreed. The script probably at the end of this...
