Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Juan Pablo Cadaveira comes form a background of editing narrative, documentaries and commercials. As an editor, he has worked on “Handsome Harry” (Tribeca Film Festival), “History Detectives” (PBS series); and documentary "License to Thrive: Title IX at 35." “Maravilla” is his first film as director/producer/writer, which has already won “best editing” award at “Mar del Pata” Film Festival. Biggest challenge in completing this project? I think the biggest challenge was to follow a high profile athlete, who travels around the globe, while not knowing how the story was going to develop. We wanted to follow Sergio’s life until he got the chance to regain his title in the ring, but we didn’t know if that would ever happen while we were in production. Knowing Sergio's personality, I knew he would not stop fighting, so I knew no matter what there would...

We told you last week about tonight’s premiere of the new Syfy show Collection Intervention, hosted by Elyse Luray. Ms. Luray may look familiar to you from other shows; that could be because she is one of the hosts on PBS’s History Detectives. She also appeared as an appraiser on The Nate Berkus Show, Style Network’s Clean House NY!, Hgtv’s If Walls Could Talk, PBS’ Antiques Road Show and CBS’ The Early Show.
Ms. Luray spent eleven years at Christie’s auction house as an auctioneer and a Vice President of the Popular Arts Department. Some collections she appraised include the archives of Lucas Films, Dreamworks, Chuck Jones’ personal collection, Warner Brothers, Hanna Barbara, Hard Rock Cafe and more.
Ms. Luray spoke with SciFiMafia.com recently about her newest show:

New York -- Bob Dylan and historians at PBS are in a dispute over the whereabouts of an electric guitar that the singer plugged in at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, quite possibly the most historic single instrument in rock `n' roll.
The New Jersey daughter of a pilot who flew Dylan to appearances in the 1960s says she has the guitar, which has spent much of the past 47 years in a family attic. But a lawyer for Dylan claims the singer still has the Fender Stratocaster with the sunburst design that he used during one of the most memorable performances of his career.
If the authentic "Dylan goes electric" guitar ever went on the open marketplace, experts say it could fetch as much as a half million dollars.
The guitar is the centerpiece of next Tuesday's season premiere of PBS' "History Detectives," and the show said late Wednesday it...

Tree Of Life (20th Century Fox) Terrence Malick’s latest effort is both the best film of 2011 and the finest work of his (arguably) mixed, but often masterly canon. A series of vignettes, mostly set in 1950s Texas, capture the memory of a man (Sean Penn) in present-day New York who looks back on his life, and his parents’ (Brad Pitt, Jessica Chastain) troubled marriage, when word of his younger brother’s suicide reaches him. Almost indescribable beyond that, except to say no other film in history so perfectly evokes the magic and mystery of the human memory, which both crystalizes (and sometimes idealizes) the past. Like Stanley Kubrick’s 2001, this is a challenging, polarizing work that you must let wash over you. If you go along for the ride, you’re in for a unique, rewarding cinematic experience. Also available on Blu-ray disc.

As part of its ongoing stateside expansion, Lion Television has named Tony Tackaberry its first U.S.-based CEO.
The British production company also has expanded Lion executive vp Tracy Green's duties and hired two development executives.
In addition, the company said it has received renewals for its series Cash Cab from Discovery Channel and History Detectives on PBS.
Tackaberry, who most recently oversaw the company's stateside growth in New York as executive vp, will oversee the company's operations in New York and Los Angeles and take on the strategic role of planning and leading Lion's growth. Nick Catliff had been Lion's CEO, based in London, and continues as co-managing director of Lion Television and president of Lion.
"In just five years, Tony has transformed Lion's New York operations from a startup into a highly successful business making over 100 hours of primetime programming for American cable and terrestrial broadcasters," Catliff said. "He is the ideal person to take on the challenge of bringing the New York and Los Angeles operations together as a single creative business."
In Los Angeles, Green has taken on an expanded role within Lion's parent company, All3 Media, which is headed by CEO Steve Morrison.

GSN is developing an adaptation of the Irish game show The Box with Lion Television USA, sources said.
The Box, a reality/game show hybrid, debuted in October on Ireland's TV3. In the Irish version, two contestants are put into a transparent glass box for 24 hours, facing quiz-related tasks throughout the day in full view of the public. At the end of the day, contestants are asked general knowledge questions in a live broadcast, with the winner staying in the box to compete against a fresh contestant the next day.
Lion Television USA is producing. The company's Tracy Green is serving as executive producer along with Nick Catliff, who is with Lion Television U.K.
The project is in development for a possible series pickup, sources said.
GSN and Lion TV declined comment.
Lion TV's credits include Court TV's S.W.A.T. USA, TLC's Family Trip, PBS' History Detectives and History Channel/BBC2's Days That Shook the World.
The "Box" deal was brokered by ICM.
