At about the 55 minute mark of the show when Rocky is escaping in the plane that he stole, he had previously sabotaged the other planes so they could not fly and/or no other planes were running as everyone was asleep, but as Rocky takes off in the stolen plane, another plane is seen on the runway with its propeller fully running.
When Pappy shoots Rocky's Corsair, an explosion and smoke begin trailing off of the right side wing. This remains consistent through the next few shots. But the very last shot of the Corsair disappearing over the top of the hill now shows smoke trailing out from under the left wing.
When the coder breaker has deciphered the Japabese message concerning where the transports are to rendezvous, the coordinates given are 115West and 25North, this would put the Japanese of the Baja peninsula.
At the very end when Pappy is looking at Rocky's Corsair sinking into the ocean, the shot is actual World War 2 footage of an F6F Hellcat, not a Corsair in the water.
When Hiraki's plane is hit by Boyington the pipe blowing smoke from the supposed hit is clearly seen hanging down below the fuselage.
The Universal Newsreel copyright at the episode's beginning is 1939 (MCMXXXIX). This date is incorrect based upon the time frame of the series. VMF-214 under Major Boyington started flying in 1943.
