Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • The threat of a Romulan vs Federation battle is prevelant in the episode, although no actual violence really happens. But it's still terrifying.

Profanity

  • None although some crude humor in the form of the delays on the viewscreen between Picard and Varley are hilarious and almost sound like flies affecting it. Some downright crude humor.
  • Cinemax content advisory: rated TV-14 for adult content (AC). 1994 (with the intial ratings reason bumper): contains adult humor and adult content.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The episode is frightening but it's mostly because of the anomoly that causes the problems on the ship. And the anomoly becomes more puzzling to solve and puts the crew, and the enemy Romulan ship, equally in danger. But the Romulans do not appear threatening to the Enterprise in this episode. That's the tone.
