Dangerous Games
The second feature length story concentrates on informants and undercover operations. Both would be in jeopardy if there is a dirty cop in the inside selling information for money.
The Van der Valks are in turmoil as there vital information being leaked from police headquarters. Wim Van der Valk is on the firing line as another operation is bungled. He was the only one involved in the previous cases as well.
When Van der Valk hears about Wim, he becomes suspicious of his son's spending habits. However he is also under pressure when a counterfeit currency operation goes wrong. He might had been betrayed by his own secret source.
If the first episode had pacing issues. This one really suffered from it. There were bits here that was pure padding. Although the story looks complex at first glance, the opening scene very much gave away a potential culprit.
At least Barry Foster could exercise his acting chops. It also displays how close knit the Van der Valks are.
