- At the end of season 1, a character is very nearly forced to have sex with a family member. It doesn't actually happen, but the character does strip down.
- In one episode a teen girl uses a bidet to masturbate. No nudity but she squirms and giggles.
- A woman poses nude for a painting her breasts are visible.
- Effy and Cook have sex in some episodes.
- Having sex and losing virginity are frequent topics of discussion. Various simulated sex acts are visible, though nudity is limited. Partial male and female nudity (buttocks and breasts are visible; painted images of female genitals are sometimes shown). Words like "pussy" and "dick" are used frequently. Tony calls Michelle "Nips" after seeing her breasts.
- Female full frontal nudity is seen way more times than male full frontal nudity justified by context.
- In season 1, not a lot of sex is shown but it is described in graphic detail and frequently.
- Season 3 - Cook and JJ go to a brothel and Cook gets a handjob. They then find a BDSM enjoyer strapped to a chair. Very disturbing and graphic.

- Frequent cigarette smoking (which is common on British television), drinking (the legal age is lower in Britain), and drug use -- including prescription pills and marijuana (referred to as "spliff" and "skunk").
- Season 1 - Drugs are a frequent topic of discussion and are shown being used and abused often in very graphic detail (cocaine, heroin, opioids, marijuana and more).
- Season 2 - Hard drug use like cocaine is shown in detail.
- Season 3 - Contains frequent usage of extremely hard drugs (shown explicitly).
- Season 4 has a ridiculous and quite frankly over the top amount of drug use, especially in episode 7.
- Series 5 has the usual wild amount of drugs such as cocaine, pills and molly.
- The drug use gets more explicit as the show goes on.
- Strong drug use and teen partying in most of episodes.
- Various drugs are portrayed throughout series, including alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, mdma, cocaine, pharmaceuticals, psychedelics, and other drugs.
- People occasionaly snorting cocaine/mdma, taking various pills.

- In season 1, there is an episode where a character injects pure heroin into themself.

- The first three seasons are by far the most graphic.
- No frightening scenes but a few intense and some extremely depressing scenes, especially in season 1 & 2.

- Season 2 - Sex is shown quite a lot and very graphically with explicit detail. The most graphic scenes are Chris and Jal's sex scenes in the tiny flat, Sketch masturbating under Maxxie's bed and Tony's sex dream.
- Thomas and Andrea have sex. He thrusts into her beside a shelf as they moan, buttock nudity briefly.
- Cook has sex with a girl who looks like Effy.
- Mini loses her virginity to Nick. He masturbates and puts on a condom before they have sex and she looks pained. Very graphic.
- Nick and Liv have sex as Liv moans. We then see Nick's porn posters with topless women.

- Freddie is beaten to death with a bat by Effy's therapist. This is off-screen but very violent anyway and blood is shown splattering as Freddie screams and cries.
