When Emilia Clarke Said That The Avengers Movies Were Silly & Then Joined The MCU With Marvel’s Secret Invasion( Photo Credit – IMDb )
Emilia Clarke is not an unknown name. She became popular as Game of Thrones’ Khaleesi, aka Daenerys Targaryen. She became a household name because of the gory HBO series based on George Rr Martin’s works. She recently joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, aka MCU, with Secret Invasion, but a few years before the Marvel series, the actress made a not-so-likable comment about Marvel movies, such as the Avengers films. Scroll below for more.
Clarke appeared in the leading role in the miniseries Secret Invasion. She plays Gi’ah, daughter of Talos, who works for Gravik [leader of rebel Skrulls], but things change by the end of the series. The show did not get such a good response from the fans. The critics rated it 52% on Tomatometer, and the Audience Score is 46% overall on Rotten Tomatoes.

After directing Thor: The Dark World, filmmaker Alan Taylor moved on to Terminator Genisys. Released in 2015, it's widely considered the worst movie in the sci-fi franchise's storied history. Meant to serve as a reboot, it introduced a new timeline created when Skynet attempted to kill Sarah Connors as a child.
In the movie's big twist, we learned that Skynet had transformed Jason Clarke's John Connor into a Terminator-hybrid. Joining him in the cast were Emilia Clarke as Sarah, Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, and Arnold Schwarzenegger as a T-800 dubbed "Pops."
Despite being heavily featured in bizarre promo photos, House of the Dragon star Matt Smith made a relatively minor appearance as the advanced T-5000 Terminator who embodies Skynet, and it sounds like shooting his scenes was a bemusing experience for the British actor.

"There is no future but what we make for ourselves" — the guiding principle of the Terminator franchise. Unfortunately, the real-life principle has largely amounted to, "There is no future but what Hollywood makes for the rest of us." This is one of those franchises where studios have rebooted, soft-rebooted, legacy-sequeled, and generally mangled what was once an innovative and interesting storyline into an incomprehensible mess — to the point that the saga's main star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is now done with the franchise.
It's a sad state of affairs for this once great sci-fi story. Still, there's hope as long as creator James Cameron harbors a desire to make another Terminator movie based on A.I. For the time being, though, we're left with what has become an unnecessarily complicated Terminator timeline, leaving anyone trying to figure out the correct order to watch the Terminator movies confused. Even the first movie, 1984's...

If, by chance, you’ve never heard of Australian genre director Sean Byrne, you need to remedy that fact right away. While far from a household name, Byrne directed two of the best horror movies of the last twenty years – The Loved Ones in 2009 and The Devil’s Candy in 2015. The Loved Ones, in particular, is a gem, with star Robin McLeavy’s performance as high school stalker Lola, being one of the most memorable horror baddies in recent memory.
And now, it looks like Byrne is finally directing another film, with Variety revealing that he’s set to direct the horror flick Dangerous Animals, which stars Hassie Harrison (the Yellowstone girl who caused a major bunkhouse feud a few seasons back), Jai Courtney, and Josh Heuston.
Here’s what Variety has to say about the project:

Australian filmmaker Sean Byrne is two-for-two with impressive feature films The Loved Ones and The Devil’s Candy, and his next horror movie will be titled Dangerous Animals.
Variety reports today that Hassie Harrison (“Yellowstone”), Jai Courtney (Terminator Genisys) and Josh Heuston (“Heartbreak High”) will star in Dangerous Animals.
In Dangerous Animals, “Zephyr (Harrison), described as a savvy and free-spirited surfer, is abducted by a shark-obsessed serial killer (Courtney). Held captive on his boat, she must figure out how to escape before he carries out a ritualistic feeding to the sharks below.
“The only person who realizes she is missing is new love interest Moses (Hueston), who goes looking for Zephyr, only to be caught by the deranged murderer as well.”
Mister Smith Entertainment is bringing the project to the Cannes Market.

For most directors, the art of filmmaking is an experience worth its weight in creative calories. For Alan Taylor, it was instead a harrowing one better left forgotten or chalked up as a bad dream. In hindsight, Thor: The Dark World wasn’t just a director’s worst nightmare but an agonizing ordeal for the audience who had to suffer through 112 minutes of a rotten piece of film that had no business existing within the realm of cinema.
Thor: The Dark World [Credit: Marvel Studios]In the later years, Taylor himself picked apart his Marvel project, proving there was no love lost between him and the Nordic God. But even Chris Hemsworth’s best efforts to preserve the sanctity of his leading role and Tom Hiddleston lending his Shakespearean expertise to the film’s drab plot couldn’t help make the final product any less painful for the Marvel fans.

After graduating from Drama Centre London, British actress Emilia Clarke made her debut as a professional actress in the 2009 British soap opera, Doctors. Her third professional role was as Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO drama series Game of Thrones, based on George R. R. Martin’s fantasy novel series, A Song of Ice and Fire.

‘Superman & Lois’ has garnered praise as one of CW’s top superhero shows. Despite CW’s restructuring and cancelation of many projects, ‘Superman & Lois’ secured its season 4 renewal shortly before the season 3 finale. Although loosely connected to the Arrowverse, the show has distinguished itself from other CW superhero series, which have faced criticism in recent years.
Season 4 has been confirmed as the show’s final season, with reduced episodes, a smaller main cast, and a smaller writing team due to budget constraints. Despite these changes, an iconic character, Jimmy Olsen, is set to appear, with Douglas Smith cast in the role according to TVLine.
In the show, Jimmy is depicted as an outgoing young adult who is known for being the life of the party at work. Despite working closely with Clark, he struggles to break through Clark’s reserved demeanor. Unaware of Clark’s secret identity as Superman, Jimmy is determined to befriend him.

‘Superman & Lois’ is often touted as being one of the best CW’s superhero-based shows. This is why even following CW restructuring after many projects were written off, ‘Superman & Lois’ managed to score its season 4 renewal just weeks prior to the season 3 finale. Although unofficially a part of Arrowverse, the show managed to distance itself from other CW’s similar projects that were regarded as straight-up bad in the last few years, especially looking back at the disappointing Flash finale.
A few months ago it was confirmed that Season 4 would be the show’s last, even though the viewership remained steady, it wasn’t nearly enough to justify a high CGI budget. Season 4 is set to return with fewer episodes, with much of its main cast missing and a much smaller writers team. But the show must go on and so one iconic character will reportedly appear in the show.

When Arnold Schwarzenegger delivered the now legendary line, "I'll be back," in 1984's "The Terminator," no one could have known how true that statement would prove to be. Arnie was indeed back, and back, and back, and back, and back again, proving that the only thing as relentless as the T-800 is Hollywood's desire to pump out sequel after sequel.
Thankfully, we at least got one classic of the action genre out of it: 1991's "Terminator 2: Judgment Day." After delivering a masterpiece of low-budget sci-fi filmmaking in '84, director James Cameron proved why he's the king of sequels with the 1991 follow-up. "T2" outdid its predecessor in almost every way, blending impeccable action set pieces with an overwhelming sense of doom that made the film linger in the mind long after viewing.
After that, the films continued without Cameron, and not only was there a marked drop in quality with...

British actress Emilia Clarke, best known for her role of Daenerys Targaryen in all eight seasons of Game of Thrones, has been awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) gong in the New Year’s Honors List,
Clarke will attend a British royal palace to receive the award, alongside her mother Jenny, after the pair set up a charity together supporting people with brain injuries.
The actress, now 37, suffered two brain haemorrhages, in 2011 and 2013 when she was in her twenties. Following her surgery, she was shocked by the lack of after-care support available, and she and her mother were inspired to create the SameYou charity.
Now, they are believed to be the first mother-daughter pairing to receive the same award in the same honors list.

Robert Downey Jr won’t be back, but the MCU stands on the shoulders of masked heroes, not the people playing them. Plus, a new man in the iron suit could revive failing box-office fortunes
It’s a Hollywood ploy as old as time – and one that probably explains why the Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger still have acting careers. If your venerable old action saga is struggling to recoup the greenbacks it did in the early days, just bring back the guy who made it such a success in the first place.
This is the whole reason movies such as Terminator Genisys and Terminator: Dark Fate exist (for better or worse). But if Marvel fans had hoped that the suddenly struggling superhero mega-saga might be restored to its former glories by bringing back Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man, they will now have to look elsewhere for their returning comic book messiah.

We Terminator fans haven't had an easy time. I first saw "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" when I was about 10 and my dad let me stay up to watch it. Did I pretend not to be absolutely terrified by the image of the exoskeleton peeking through Arnie's torn facial flesh? Maybe. But ever since being gently traumatized by "T2," I have been in love with the franchise.
Depending on who you ask, everything after "T2" has formed a nebulous cloud of mediocrity, where flashes of scenes you may or may not remember sometimes rise to the surface only to recede into the miasma once again, leaving you questioning whether they ever existed. Did Arnie really wear star-shaped shades in "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines?" Did they really make The Terminator into a suburban Texas dad who ran a curtain business in "Terminator: Dark Fate?" Much like Sarah Connor in "Judgment Day,...

There’ll be some happy holidays on Prime Video in December, as the streamer’s seasonal offerings hope to keep the fires warm in your home this month!
As such, there are quite a few new original holiday movies coming to the service. At the beginning of the month, Eddie Murphy stars in Candy Cane Lane. In this film, the Beverly Hills Cop and Coming to America star plays a determined man who is willing to go above and beyond to win the annual Christmas home decoration contest in his neighborhood – even if it means making a very magical deal.
The DC universe will also be getting festive in December thanks to Merry Little Batman, an animated feature that sees Batman’s son, Damian Wayne, stumble upon a villainous plot on Christmas eve, one that may give him a chance to save the day when his dad isn’t around.

The franchise has seen six total films hit the theater screens (and a two-season television drama), with the last being a legacy sequel (Terminator: Genisys) starring Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke alongside series staple Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Who doesn’t love watching a series that tells the true-life (or at least somewhat true-life) stories of real people? That’s what HBO’s hit series “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty” provides for NBA fans, Angelenos and TV viewers alike.
“Winning Time” doesn’t feature any of the real-life people that the series depicts, though some of the actors bear striking resemblances to their counterparts.
The show has a massive cast, with Quincy Isaiah (Earvin “Magic” Johnson”), John C. Reilly (Jerry Buss), Adrien Brody (Pat Riley) and others taking center stage as leads. There were also newcomers who stepped onto the court as guest stars for the second season, included Joel Allen as Kurt Rambis, Jay Davis as Byron Scott, Quentin Shropshire as James Worthy, Matthew Barnes as Mitch Kupchak, Darryl Reynolds as Robert Parish, Andrew Stephens as Kevin McHale and Larry C. Fields III as Eddie Jordan.

August has arrived, and with it, the last full month of summer-worthy shows and flicks, at least for 2023. From all the summer sensations to food weather, carnival fun and, of course, the lack of school, the streamer’s film slate will update with some appropriate flicks like “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2,” “Eat Pray Love,” “Despicable Me” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” respectively.
If you’re one of those who senses the change in the air as soon as the salty summer heat gives way to crisp fall fog, “Heartstopper” Season 2, complete with its cartoon drawings of leaves, waits for you starting August 3. “The Lincoln Lawyer: Season 2 Part 2” concludes the two-part followup to the legal drama starring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo. “Heart of Stone,” a big tentpole film starring Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan, promises action-lovers a good time.

With its list of new releases for August 2023, Netflix is giving the anime world another shot.
No, we’re not talking about the streamer’s usual anime offerings – which are present this month in the form of Ragnarok season 3 (Aug. 24) and other titles – we’re talking about Netflix’s attempt to make live-action anime adaptations a thing. Following the relative failure of its Cowboy Bebop remake, Netflix is giving it another go, this time with arguably an even bigger anime classic. One Piece will premiere on Aug. 31. Telling the story of beloved straw hat wearing pirate Monkey D. Luffy, this adaptation will attempt to do original creator Eiichiro Oda and his many fans proud.

Refresh for chart…On the bright side for Independence Day bomb Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, its first five days at the box office of $82M aren’t as bad as Paramount/Skydance’s Terminator Genisys.
That sequel’s launch just prior to July 4, 2015 left a lot of methane in the air with $42.4M in its Wednesday to Sunday. The attempted Arnold Schwarzenegger comeback movie ended its domestic run at $89.7M, and Dial of Destiny will cross that mark before its first week is up.
Comparing July 4th tentpole hits and bombs can be tricky. Since the holiday skips around, sometimes studios launch on a Wednesday, sometimes a Friday so for the box office fanatics, everything is apples-to-oranges. The last time July 4th fell on a Tuesday was 2017 and 2006. In 2017, over the Friday-Tuesday frame, Illumination/Universal’s Despicable Me 3 led with $99M, followed by Sony/MRC’s Baby Driver with $29.97M.

Fubar star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, was undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in Hollywood across the 1980s and 90s. 9 Network and Endemol Shine Australia have unveiled a new travel adventure series entitled “Rush,” hosted by “Australian Survivor” star David Genat.
“Rush,” an original concept developed by the Banijay Group-owned Esa and Nine, follows 12 contestants deprived of all their senses who are then dropped into exotic locations and festivals around the world and must work together to complete the mission and reach a designated escape zone before they can continue on their global adventure where team members are progressively eliminated until one winner remains.
“It’s a spectacular take on the travel reality series on a scale never attempted on Australian TV,” said Peter Newman, Endemol Shine Australia CEO, speaking exclusively with Variety at their Sydney office.

With the film’s Cannes premiere just under a month away, Disney didn’t need to do the hard sell for Lucasfilm’s “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.” But Cinemacon audiences did get to see an extended action sequence, one featuring both Dr. Henry Jones Jr. and Phoebe Waller-Bridge as his goddaughter Helena trying to avoid getting punched, shot or otherwise blown up.
The sneak peek showed Indiana Jones and his goddaughter bickering with each other as they dodge gunfire and slow-moving camels in a bazaar in Tangier. As they’re being chased themselves, they’re chasing after the evil Jurgen Voller (Mads Mikkelsen), who has the Dial of Destiny in his possession.
But Helena and Indy don’t seem to be on the same page when it comes to the dial. Helena is engaged to an unscrupulous man who wants the dial to make a fortune, and...

One of the only good things to come out of Hollywood's obsession with grinding a good thing into the ground via unrelenting sequels are some of the titles. Whether characters are getting "back in the habit" or "dying harder," there's nothing better than a bonkers sequel subtitle. And while a subtitle isn't necessarily indicative of a film being good or bad, Hollywood has certainly churned out its share of sequels that truly didn't need to happen. Does anyone remember "Son Of The Mask" or "Jaws: The Revenge?" Hell, 20th Century Fox even greenlit "Elektra," a sequel to 2003's universally panned "Daredevil," just because the first movie made an okay profit despite being arguably one of the worst superhero movies ever made.
Over the years, and especially, in our nostalgia-obsessed present moment, we've been treated to all-manner of legacy sequel — some good, some terrible — as Hollywood increasingly turns to existing IPs...

Netflix’s newest heist series Kaleidoscope boasts a unique take on the genre – the order you watch the episodes, aside from the finale, doesn’t matter. You can start with almost any episode and therefore have a different viewing experience than someone else who started with a different one. According to Netflix, the series is “loosely inspired by the real-life story where seventy billion dollars in bonds went missing in downtown Manhattan during Hurricane Sandy, Kaleidoscope consists of eight episodes spanning from 24 years before the heist to 6 months after.”
But not only is the series able to draw people in with its intriguing premise and viewing structure, it also has a pretty stacked cast with several familiar faces. Here’s the who’s who of Kaleidoscope and where you’ve seen these actors before.

Breaking convention is a fantastic way to stand out among a vast ocean of television series hitting the airwaves and streaming services weekly. Thankfully, Netflix‘s new crime series Kaleidoscope hopes to change how audiences interact with episodic content. An eight-part heist series, Kaleidoscope, will be distributed to Netflix subscribers in a random viewing order. That’s right, folks. You can watch Kaleidoscope any way you please and still walk away with a cohesive narrative. At least that’s the hook of the series, which has yet to go into practice.
For the uninitiated, Kaleidoscope follows a master thief and his crew over 25 years as they attempt a 7 billion heist together. When Netflix subscribers view the series, they will feed random episodes, except for the final chapter, for reasons that should be obvious. Each episode title is associated with a different color, with “White: The Heist” being the last chapter.

Much of the conversation around James Cameron’s long-awaited “Avatar: The Way of Water” has centered on its three-hour runtime, which has hardly stopped the film from topping box office charts around the world. In a new interview with Esquire Middle East, Cameron revealed the film would’ve run 10 minutes longer had he not cut out scenes with gun violence. The filmmaker said he is no longer interested in fetishizing guns in his action scenes given the rampant gun violence in the U.S.
“I actually cut about 10 minutes of the movie targeting gunplay action,” Cameron said. “I wanted to get rid of some of the ugliness, to find a balance between light and dark. You have to have conflict, of course. Violence and action are the same thing, depending on how you look at it. This is the dilemma of every action filmmaker, and I’m known as an action filmmaker.

“The Terminator” franchise just won’t die…maybe. James Cameron revealed on the “Smartless” podcast (via The Playlist) that discussions are taking place about him continuing the long-running action franchise, which kicked off in 1984 on a high but has since experienced one box office flop (“Terminator Genisys”) after another (“Terminator: Dark Fate”). “Dark Fate” was a particularly huge box office bomb with just 261 million worldwide, but that still might not have been enough to kill the franchise.
As Cameron said on the podcast: “If I were to do another ‘Terminator’ film and maybe try to launch that franchise again, which is in discussion, but nothing has been decided, I would make it much more about the AI side of it than bad robots gone crazy.”
“Dark Fate,” which “Deadpool” director Tim Miller helmed from a story by Cameron, was supposed to revive “The Terminator” franchise by reuniting original stars Linda Hamilton...

Action star, Jai Courtney is to narrate “For the Love of Pets,” a factual animal welfare series set in Australia.
Commissioned for the 9Network Australia and filmed in 4K, the 8-part series follows the heart-warming stories of the staff, volunteers and animals that come through the doors of the Animal Welfare League of South Australia Inc. (Awl) and Vets4Pets Emergency Hospital in Adelaide.
Production is by Context Media with production funding from Omnicom Media Group subsidiary, OMnet Australia. Escapade Media is on board to handle international distribution and says that it is close to announcing a raft of licensing deals.
“This is a brilliant paring. Jai Courtney relates to the mass demographic but with a solid appeal to the younger demographic which is essential for channels and platforms today,” said Natalie Lawley, MD of Escapade.
Courtney was most recently seen in Prime Video’s action thriller series “The Terminal List” alongside Chris Pratt.

In the HBO series "House of the Dragon, actor Matt Smith plays Prince Daemon Targaryen, a character who will -- should "Dragon" last long enough -- no doubt commit multiple acts of murder, perhaps a few acts of torture, certainly several acts of incest, and, just for good measure, two separate acts of enthused cannibalism. Probably also tax evasion. This postulation is based merely on how lascivious and gnarly the show's predecessor, "Game of Thrones," was throughout its 2011 through 2019 run.
Smith's screen acting career began in 2006 with his appearance on a TV adaptation of Philip Pullman's novel "Ruby in the Smoke" and its sequel "Shadow in the North." He was a regular character on the BBC Two series "Party Animals" before landing the plum gig of The Doctor in "Doctor Who" in 2010. The Doctor, for neophytes, is a near-immortal space alien who can, upon his death, choose to regenerate into a new body.

This article contains spoilers for Morbius and the first three episodes of House of the Dragon.
What the hell is he doing? That was certainly my first thought while witnessing Matt Smith strut his stuff and show off a new beach bod in Morbius. I wasn’t alone. In the months since that dubious attempt at a superhero-vampire hybrid bled out on the multiplex floor, the scene has become a legend among the terminally online.
Even before Morbius’ streaming release (and subsequent premiere on Netflix), watching Smith’s evil Milo the Vampire boogieing to “Ekse” was transformed into an instant meme. On Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and all other social media avenues where nerds gather to enjoy content “ironically,” there was bootleg iPhone footage of this dance scene. Along with the catchphrase “It’s Morbin’ Time!”—which, believe it or not, does not appear in the movie—Smith’s two-step became...

“Anatomy of a Scandal” star Rupert Friend has signed on to star as famed Romanian conductor Sergiu Celibidache in “The Yellow Tie,” an upcoming biopic of Celibidache’s life, Variety can exclusively reveal.
Friend will have a central role in the feature, playing the young Celibidache. As Variety revealed last year, John Malkovich is also signed on to play an older version of the conductor.
The duo last appeared on screen together in 2004’s “The Libertine,” in which Johnny Depp also starred as the Duke of Rochester. Friend has also appeared in features including “Hitman: Agent 47” and “The Death of Stalin.” He will next be appearing in “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar” alongside Benedict Cumberbatch.
Serge Ioan Celebidachi, the conductor’s son, will direct “The Yellow Tie” based on a screenplay he co-wrote with James Olivier.
Robert W. Cort has also boarded the biopic as an executive producer.

After skyrocketing to success with “Deadpool,” director Tim Miller followed his “rock-hard nerd belief” to helm a reboot for the “Terminator” franchise with 2019’s “Terminator: Dark Fate.” While the Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring franchise installment was a labor of love for Miller, he admits that his own desires for what he wanted to see on the big screen weren’t enough to make it a hit with other audiences.
“I went in with the rock-hard nerd belief that if I made a good movie that I wanted to see, it would do well. And I was wrong,” Miller told audiences during Collider’s Directors on Directing Hall H San Diego Comic-Con panel this past weekend (via ScreenRant). “It was one of those f**king Eureka moments in a bad way, because the movie tanked.”
“Dark Fate” served as a direct sequel to “The Terminator” and “T2: Judgement Day,” both directed by James Cameron.

Disney is no longer at risk of surrendering profits on two of its blockbusters — Guardians of the Galaxy and Deadpool — for using allegedly stolen VFX technology to animate CG characters. Conceding that he erred in a previous ruling clearing the way for trial over these films and exposing the company to massive damages, a federal judge on Wednesday found that earnings from the movies cannot be tied back to use of the technology.
Disney still faces the prospect of losing proceeds from Beauty and the Beast, which has grossed 1.26 billion.
The long-running case has a complicated history, featuring a personal feud between two Silicon Valley figures that threatened to delay multiple movies at Disney. At the core of the dispute, software company Rearden asserted ownership of lauded VFX technology called Mova Contour that had improperly been licensed by an outfit founded by a former employee.
