Arclight Films on Thursday unveiled new drama Fatima, starring Harvey Keitel and Sonia Braga (Aquarius).
The film, currently in preproduction, will be directed by Marco Pontecorvo (Partly Cloudy With Sun). Based on a true story, the film dramatizes the story of three children who said they witnessed several apparitions of the Virgin Mary sharing apocalyptic prophecies in Fatima, Portugal. Two of them died during a 1918-1917 influenza pandemic and were made saints last week by Pope Francis.

Sunny Leone, who after making her debut with Jism 2, fast went on to become one of the most sought after actress in Bollywood. However, the porn star turned actress has always been under scrutiny for her past identity of being an adult entertainment star. Never having been known to shy away from the said scrutiny, we now hear that Sunny Leone will soon be featuring in a biopic on herself.
In fact, we hear that Abhishek Sharma, known for his films like Tere Bin Laden and The Shaukeens, will be helming the project. While this won't be the first film based on Sunny's life, the first being Canadian photojournalist Dilip Mehta's documentary Mostly Sunny Partly Cloudy that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival 2016, Sharma's film will be a more mainstream feature instead of a documentary.

Sunny Leone's career is about to acquire another level of sexiness. The documentary titled Mostly Sunny Partly Cloudy that film filmmaker Dilip Mehta has made on her life is about to get a full and formal worldwide release. Says Dilip, "It would be a worldwide theatrical release. It's a feature-length documentary. Sunny is endearing, warm, candid and emotional and takes one through her life trajectory with remarkable openness and confidence." The documentary happened by sheer chance when a Canadian film company approached Dilip to direct a feature-length documentary on Sunny Leone. Recalling his first meeting with Ms. Leone Dilip says, "Sunny, her husband Daniel and I met at the Juhu Marriott in Mumbai over a year ago. From the moment Sunny came into the lobby and all the way to the coffee shop at the lower level all eyes were focused on her. She has a presence that commands attention.

Best friends are friends forever. The latest charming TV spot promo for Pixar's The Good Dinosaur is a very emotional, very sweet reminder of how important friendship is. "It's up to us to protect our home... Sometimes you gotta face your fear to get to the other side." A few days ago, we featured the new theatrical trailer for Pixar's The Good Dinosaur, and now we have another one with even more footage. This trailer is the Australian version and features lots of new footage in the first half, presenting the entire story with the correct narrative in the film - starting with his family, then his adventure after the storm, meeting Spot, and eventually the T-Rexes. It's essentially a story about a boy and his dog, except the "dog" in this case is the human, and Arlo the apatosaurus is the "boy". It looks fantastic. Here's the new international trailer for Pixar's The Good Dinosaur, from Disney Australia's YouTube: You can also watch the latest full-length Us trailer for Pixar's The Good Dinosaur here, for comparison. "That creature protected you - what is his name?!" Disney-Pixar have debuted the second full-length trailer for The Good Dinosaur, directed by Pete Sohn, about the adventures of Arlo, an Apatosaurus who gets lost and befriend a small human boy that he names Spot. Arlo is voiced by Raymond Ochoa, and the rest of the voice cast includes Jeffrey Wright, Steve Zahn, A.J. Buckley, Anna Paquin and Sam Elliott. There's plenty of new footage in this, showing Arlo interacting with different dinosaurs including the goofy triceratops named Forrest Woodbush. This looks like a truly wonderful movie, I really can't wait to see it. "A single moment can change everything." Whoa! This looks great. Disney-Pixar have finally unveiled a must see new TV trailer for The Good Dinosaur, their November release, and it's the best look at the movie yet - explaining the story and featuring lots of dialogue. Arlo, an apatosaurus voiced by Raymond Ochoa, gets lost and befriends a human boy, who helps him fight of foes and make new friends. There are some fun lines in this: "If you ain't scared, you ain't alive". I'm really looking forward to it. Two brand new, original Pixar movies in one year! Don't know if I can handle that. This one looks heartfelt and fun. Enjoy! "You got no business being out here." The newest international trailer for Pixar's The Good Dinosaur has debuted, and it actually features footage of the dinosaurs speaking! We know they all have voices, but as of yet we haven't heard much of them in any of the trailers for Pixar's second completely original movie out this year. The main voice we get to hear is that of Sam Elliott as the T-Rex named Butch, plus a little bit of Raymond Ochoa as Arlo, the main green apatosaurus that befriends the little human boy. Remember the concept in this flips things around - dinosaurs evolved to talk, humans are pets. And it still looks wonderful. Pixar Animation Studio’s The Good Dinosaur asks the question: “What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct?” Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo (voice of Raymond Ochoa) makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.

Disney-Pixar has released a new trailer for The Good Dinosaur trailer. Directed by Peter Sohn (Partly Cloudy), the movie takes place in a world in which dinosaurs were not wiped out by an asteroid. A dinosaur named Arlo who, after a traumatic event unsettles his family, sets out on a journey with an unlikely companion—a human boy.
Little dialogue, no story details, but amazing visuals make this trailer perfect. The dino and its human friend seem cartoonish when compared to the lush environment, but I don’t think it will take away an emotional investment we are sure to have.
The film opens on November 25, 2015.

Disney-Pixar has debuted a must-see full-length trailer for Pete Sohn's The Good Dinosaur, their new adventure into another time. The Good Dinosaur takes place in a world where the dinosaurs never died off and became the dominate species on Earth. One of them is named Arlo, voiced by Lucas Neff of "Raising Hope", and he comes across a small human. The two become friends, and the rest is history. Two Pixar films this year? What did we do right to deserve this?
The first teaser for the second Pixar film of 2015 was released today and offered our first true glimpse at the long in production, The Good Dinosaur. The film is directed by Peter Sohn and stars Judy Greer, Neil Patrick Harris, Bill Hader, Frances McDormand, and John Lithgow.
The film takes place after a traumatic event unsettles a lively Apatosaurus named Arlo, who sets out on a remarkable journey, gaining an unlikely companion along the way – a human boy.
Originally expected to hit theaters last year, it seems like The Good Dinosaur is going the route of Wall*E or Up and giving us a teaser that doesn’t share much plot or dialogue. It gives us a vague idea of what the film will be about and sells us on the tag that it will be from Pixar.

“We ask what-ifs,” said John Lasseter at a recent detailed show-and-tell at Cannes for international press. “What if toys came to life, or a rat wanted to be chef? The next: what if that asteroid missed earth and dinosaurs and human beings co-existed?" Lasseter, celebrating a decade since he took over the reins with Pixar partner Ed Catmull running animation at Disney/Pixar, gave a preview of the upcoming slate with plenty of footage. It looks impressive indeed. Which is what we've come to expect. "2015 is a milestone year for Pixar," he said, with two feature films coming out in one year--three over the next 12 months. First up there’s Pete Docter’s innovative and brilliant “Inside Out” (June 19) which after a delay finally premiered at Cannes and is sure to be a knockout summer hit. "What if..." Disney-Pixar has finally debuted the teaser trailer for Peter Sohn's The Good Dinosaur, the next animated movie from Pixar due out in theaters later this year. Pixar's Inside Out is coming up in just a few weeks, and it's likely this teaser is attached to that release. This is the same teaser that Disney has been showing, setting up the basic backstory for the movie. What if the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs didn't actually hit Earth, and they went on to live for years, what would be different? Well, people would be pets, dinosaurs would be the dominate species. There's a hint at that story in the footage at the end. Fire it up! It’s not all Lego over at Warner Bros. animation. Despite the huge franchise-worthiness of Emmet and co., the company is still developing other ideas. It now has Andy Samberg and Kelsey Grammer on board to voice Storks. The film comes from the combination of Nick Stoller (who had Samberg pop up in a cameo for Bad Neighbors) and Pixar veteran Doug Sweetland, who likely has some experience with the subject since he was at the Emeryville company when Partly Cloudy, the short about a cloud creating dangerous babies and his stork pal, was in production. Storks, however, is more of a mystery for now. We don’t know whom Samberg and Grammer will be playing and Warners is keeping the plot quiet beyond the basic promise of “a fresh and funny look at the fable behind storks".Though it isn’t a Lego film, some of that franchise’s...

Just last month we got yet another new piece of concept art from Pixar Animation's forthcoming fall release of The Good Dinosaur. Rai Com is to handle sales on Partly Cloudy, Probably Sunny (Tempo instabile con probabili schiarite), the new film by Marco Pontecorvo.

Is it Pixar News Day and no-one sent us the memo? Between new Inside Out posters, a teaser for Toy Story That Time Forgot and now this fresh information on The Good Dinosaur, it’s feeling like the Emeryville team and their Disney partners were waiting to spring it all on us at once. Still, it appears to be good news for Dinosaur, as co-director Peter Sohn is officially in charge of the movie. There was somewhat natural consternation when director Bob Peterson was removed from the film over creative challenges, with word that the film was to be delayed until 2015. Which explained why it was Sohn and producer Denise Ream who turned up to promote the film at Disney’s D23 in August of last year, as the company scrambled to make it better. Now Sohn is promoted to full director for his feature debut (he’s worked in the art,...

The big idea behind Pixar’s next film, The Good Dinosaur, is a brontosaurus-sized ‘What If?’ situation. In this case, what if the asteroid missed Earth and the dinosaurs ended up sharing the world with primitive humans? It’s the brain-spawn of Pixar veteran Bob Peterson, who co-directed with Partly Cloudy’s Pete Sohn, and the cast includes John Lithgow, Frances McDormand, Bill Hader, Neil Patrick Harris, Judy Greer and Lucas Neff. The Good Dinosaur spins out the logical questions from that initial idea, to find an agrarian society comprised of dinos who work on the land. Arlo (Neff) is a lively 70 foot-tall teenage Apatosaurus with a big heart. After a traumatic event rattles Arlo’s tranquil community, he sets out on a quest to restore peace, gaining an unlikely companion along the way – a young human boy named Spot. While Lithgow and McDormand will be the parents of this dino-family,...

Creative force in the British film industry whose work included The Stepford Wives and Whistle Down the Wind
The director, actor and writer Bryan Forbes, who has died aged 86, was one of the most creative forces in the British film industry of the 1960s, and the Hollywood films he directed included the original version of The Stepford Wives (1974). In later life he turned to the writing of books, both fiction and memoirs.
The turning point for him in cinema was the formation of the independent company Beaver Films with his friend Richard Attenborough in 1958. For the screenplay of their first production, The Angry Silence (1960), Forbes received an Oscar nomination and a Bafta award. Attenborough played a factory worker shunned and persecuted for not joining a strike. His colleagues are shown as being manipulated by skulking professional agitators and to some it seemed more like a political statement than a human...

Pixar has been responsible for some of the most well-received movies of the past decade, including Up, Toy Story 3, and Wall-e. Their last feature, Brave, hit theatres in the summer of 2012, and the summer of 2013 will see the release of Monsters University from the studio, a prequel to the 2001 feature Monsters Inc.

The Movie Pool takes a long look at the short films of Pixar from their new Blu-ray!
The Set-up
Short films from Pixar, many featuring characters from the studio's feature fims, are presented.
The Delivery
This second collection of short films from Pixar features 12 cartoons in stunning high definition. Many of the shorts were previously available on Pixar home video releases (including "Hawaiian Vacation" and "Air Mater"), and three are Academy Award nominees.
What we get in Volume 2 of the series is an eclectic mix of styles and approaches, and for the most part, it all works well. While some are mildly amusing, others (like "Day and Night") are exceptional, that entertain and manage to be original.
The shorts included in the collection are:
"Your Friend the Rat" Ratatouille's Remy and Emile provide the disgusting yet funny history of rats. Director Jim Capobianco and production designer Nate Wragg provide an optional audio commentary.

Pixar has become as known for its shorts as it has for its feature films, and the second release of a collection of these shorts is now available.
This time around, the featured titles consist of the shorts that played in front of theatrical titles, as well as short films featuring the cast from such movies as Up, Toy Story, and Wall•E. Though the collection itself does not come with a lot of bonuses, you do get some student films from the directors, and commentaries.
As with any Pixar release, the Blu-Ray does make a significant difference. I haven’t actually watched things like La Luna or Day & Night on a standard DVD, but I shudder at what gets lost, especially after seeing how they look here. That’s standard info though, and detailing the quality of the Blu-Ray is probably more than is necessary to anyone’s decision.

Before we get into this week's new releases, I have a deal to bring to your attention, which is Amazon is selling the Coen Brothers Collection on Blu-ray for $19.99, which includes Blood Simple, Fargo, Miller's Crossing and Raising Arizona. You can pick that up right here. In addition to that, Amazon is having a pre-Black Friday Deals Week, which you can learn more about here. Now let's get to this week's new releases. Lawrence of Arabia I did not receive a review copy of this title, though I did try, which tells me I have either been shunned by Sony or my email is going in the Junk Mail box on the opposite side of the digital spectrum. Oh well, it looks like I will be adding it to my Wish List as I really do love Lawrence of Arabia and owning it on Blu-ray would be excellent, though it's...

Any news about Pixar’s upcoming movies is must-read material based on their track record. Cars 2 is arguably the only weak point in their history, and this summer’s Brave looks to be another winner. Recently, the company announced The Good Dinosaur, a project to be released May 30th, 2014.
Today, the La Times dished on some of the emerging details of what sounds like a fun and promising project. Directed by Bob Peterson (Up) with Peter Sohn (Partly Cloudy) to co-direct, The Good Dinosaur is based on the premise that the asteroid that hit Earth and led to the extinction of dinosaurs never happened, and focuses on getting inside the head of a dinosaur and what it may feel like to be one, potentially in modern times. As the title suggests, Peterson teases that if there are good dinosaurs, there are bad dinosaurs too. Wouldn’t it be nice...

As long as films are still being made, Pixar will still be doing it alongside everyone else. It’s the best (i.e., still not very good) way I can try and grasp how a company, one opening something in a few weeks, could have enough projects for me to lose total track of. If there’s one that’s stayed in my line of sight over the past few months, however, it would be The Good Dinosaur, a Jurassic adventure from directors Bob Peterson (Up) and Peter Sohn (Partly Cloudy) — even though we know almost nothing about it. (Save for the fact that it’s set in an alternate world, wherein no meteor wiped out the species.) Still, Pixar trying their hand at dinosaurs? How could that not work?
But there are now some items being brought to our attention, and they might even justify interest that existed in the first place.

After “Monsters University,” next summer’s wholly unnecessary prequel to “Monsters, Inc.” (which imagines our monstrous heroes scaring their way through college), Pixar will embark on a cluster of highly original films that bring to mind the combination of adventurous storytelling and outrageous concepts that gave us, in sequential years, “Ratatouille,” “Wall-e” and “Up,” with these new films tackling everything from imagined earths, the sparks of imagination, and the Mexican holiday of Dia De Los Muertos. The first of these films (and the only one so far with a title) is 2014’s “The Good Dinosaur,” directed by “Up” co-director Bob Peterson and Peter Sohn, who gave us the glorious Pixar short “Partly Cloudy” and was the voice of Emile in “Ratatouille.” Details have been few and far between, although it has been acknowledged that it takes place on an alternate earth where the meteor missed and dinosaurs have evolved alongside humans.

Last summer at Disney's D23 event, Pixar unveiled two new movies to their future roster: an untitled Peter Docter ("Up") project that would "go inside the human mind" (of a young girl it was later revealed), and another, an untitled effort about humans living alongside dinosaurs. This evening at CinemaCon (and via press release), the secretive company dropped some small, but key and previously-unrevealed details on the already announced films, plus another nugget - the announcement of a third new Pixar film.
First up, let's start with Peter Docter's project. His film, once presumed to be one of the already-dated 2013 and 2014 Pixar films, and described as "wildly ambitious," will now be set for the far-off release of June 19, 2015 (it must be ambitious!). Known as "The Untitled Pixar Movie That Takes You Inside The Mind," the film will be shepherded by "Up" producer Jonas Rivera. And that's all that's revealed there,...

In a story on Kristen Bell joining the cast of Jennifer Getzinger's cinematic adaptation of Neil Labute's play "Some Girls," The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively revealed that the actress-formerly-known-as-Veronica Mars will "provide the speaking and singing voice" as the lead in Disney's upcoming feature "Frozen," which means she will play the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale character the Snow Queen (first published way back in 1845). Additionally, the trade states that Warner Bros. and Weed Road (Akiva Goldsman's WB-based production shingle) have picked up the forthcoming graphic novel "Bolivar" for Irish animator Kealan O'Rourke to write and direct.
Tucked away in the "Some Girls"/"Frozen" story is the tidbit that Chris Buck, a legendary animator who worked on everything from Brad Bird's "Family Dog" episode of "Amazing Stories" to "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" to "Little Mermaid," before co-directing Disney's lush 1999 animated feature "Tarzan" (with Kevin Lima), will direct.

[1] Walt Disney Studios has announced the title for Pixar's Holiday 2013 movie -- Frozen. I'm kind of surprised that the MPAA approved the title considering there was a popular indie movie released under the same title only two years ago, Adam Green's horror thriller Frozen. When the project was first announced at the D23 Expo, they revealed a joke working title (complete with logo seen above): "The Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs". More details after the jump. First off, I have to tell you that this page may load slow. We're making an awful lot of calls to the Amazon Api here, and that's bound to monkey with things. If you have no idea what that means... it's shiny. Please note also that, for the same reason, you may find, depending on traffic, that not all of the Amazon details will load properly. I apologize for that, it's just the nature of the beast, and the fact that the Api wasn't really meant for such things. If you refresh, it will probably fix.
You may have heard me mention this giveaway quite a while ago, and it's taken me a long time to figure out what sort of format to put things in, and I kept added things. Eventually it became too much to really give any kind of run down on the items, so I decided...

Over the weekend at Disney's D23 Expo, Pixar announced two new films. One is jokingly called The Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs, to be released on November 27, 2013. The film is directed by long-time Pixar veteran and voice actor Bob Peterson (he voiced Dug the dog in Up) and co-directed by Peter Sohn, also a Pixar vet with storyboard and animation experience, and who directed the short Partly Cloudy. A temp logo was shown off at the expo, and while it doesn't likely tell us anything at all about the film -- it just plays with the joke of the temp titled -- you can now see that image below. In recent years, Comic-Con has been criticized for becoming too Hollywood as all the major studios would come down to San Diego and woo fans with their upcoming projects. This year, Disney -- which owns both Marvel and Pixar -- didn't have a big presence [1] there. Most surmised that was because Disney has its own version of Comic-Con, The D23 Expo, a few weeks later. That was confirmed a few weeks ago [2] and now we have details on specifically which movies Disney will have on hand at D23, which takes place in Anaheim, CA from August 19-21. And if you thought Comic-Con was being invaded by movies, you ain't seen nothing yet. Confirmed films to have a presence at D23 are as follows: The Muppets, John Carter, Brave, The Avengers, Frankenweenie, Oz: The Great and Powerful, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, Wreck-It Ralph, and Monsters University.
