Giancarlo Esposito has been cast in the MCU in a role that fans are not aware of. According to the actor, the role is such that it could spawn a series of its own. Previously, Esposito had expressed his interest in playing the role of Charles Xavier, but without the wheelchair. The actor had also been speculated to be in the running to play some of Marvel’s bigger characters like Doctor Doom or Galactus.

There are multiple characters that Giancarlo Esposito could play, but it is difficult to pinpoint which it could be. Wanda’s journey in the MCU is deeply tragic. She endured immense loss during the Novi Grad Bombings and, alongside her brother Pietro, sought power to avenge their suffering, even aligning with Ultron briefly. Pietro sacrificed himself, but Wanda pressed on, finding love with Vision and confronting Thanos.
Despite her victories, she suffered further losses, including Vision, her imagined children, and her sanity. However, amidst the turmoil, she discovered her true power as the Scarlet Witch.
In the last year, there have been increasing rumors about a standalone Scarlet Witch movie. Now, a usually reliable leaker and scooper, MyTimeToShineHello, reports that the studio is actively searching for a director for the project.

This isn’t the first time rumors have circulated about a potential sequel to Wanda’s story.

Wanda’s story in the MCU is one of the most heartbreaking. She lost everything in the Novi Grad Bombings, and then, along with her brother Pietro, she turned to desperate means to secure some kind of power to get their vengeance on Tony Stark.
Pietro was lost when the twins turned on Ultron in self-sacrifice, but Wanda continued on, fell in love with Vision, and took a stand against Thanos. By the end of her career in the MCU, she would lose Vision, her imaginary children, and ultimately her own sanity, but she would gain something far more powerful: the powers of Scarlet Witch.
Over the past year, rumors have been getting louder that the Scarlet Witch is getting her own standalone movie. Now according to mostly reliable leaker and scooper MyTimeToShineHello, the studio is reportedly looking for a director for the movie.

Giancarlo Esposito recently confirmed that he had joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe... but not as the character he's been campaigning to play over the past few months, Charles Xavier.
During Ccxp back in May (via Collider), Esposito revealed that he will be appearing in a Marvel Studios project, but declined to reveal any more details. The actor did say that we'd find out "sooner rather than later," and the role is "better than you can imagine."
There was some speculation that Esposito might show up in the cameo-filled Deadpool and Wolverine, but according to Mttsh, he will be making his MCU debut in an upcoming Disney+ series.
Does this narrow down the character possibilities? Not really, since we have Agatha All Along, Ironheart, Daredevil: Born Again, and the recently announced Vision series all on the horizon, as well as more Marvel Spotlight presentations such as Wonder Man.

Disney+ still has eyes for Vision. Paul Bettany will return to his Marvel role as the humanoid conception of the malevolent supercomputer Ultron, but a good guy, but also undead because Thanos killed him a few movies back. It’s comics, it’s meant to be confusing.
“WandaVision,” in which Bettany starred opposite Elizabeth Olsen, remains one of the most successful of the Disney+ Marvel shows, netting both Bettany and Olsen Emmy nominations—one of eight Primetime Emmy nominations for the show, as well as 12 Creative Arts Emmy nominations and three wins.
Terry Matalas has been tapped as executive producer and showrunner for the series, due to stream in 2026. Matalas’s most recent gig was over at Paramount+, where he had the center seat on the third season of “Star Trek: Picard.” Most nerds will agree that the third season was the best, pivoting away from the original mandate of...

Disney+ has greenlit a new Marvel series centered around Vision, Paul Bettany will reprise his role. More on the new series here.
Spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War lie ahead
Ever since Marvel extended the MCU into television series, they have divided critics and fans, although praise has often been given to shows like Wandavision, which told its story in a way Marvel hadn’t attempted before.
Disney+ has confirmed that Paul Bettany will reprise his role to lead Vision. The character was killed by Thanos in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War and later returned in WandaVision.
The series has been in development since 2022. According to Deadline, the series will follow Vision as he tries to regain his memory and humanity, While the focus is on Vision’s story, there is also the possibility of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) to appear, which would make sense given how interconnected the two characters’ stories are in the MCU.

As Marvel Studios continues to expand its universe, new reports have revealed that the studio has hired the 12 Monkeys showrunner Terry Matalas for a new Disney+ series following Paul Bettany’s Vision. The series has been in talks since his last appearance alongside Elizabeth Olsen in the 2021 Disney+ series WandaVision.

We've known for a couple of years now that Marvel had plans for more than one spin-off from WandaVision. With the endlessly title-shifting Agatha All Along already on the way, the company is finally moving forward on a show focused on the ghostly version of Vision, as played by Paul Bettany in the show. And unlike the Agatha series, which was overseen by WandaVision's Jac Schaeffer, this one has been placed in the hands of Star Trek: Picard Season 3 showrunner Terry Matalas.
While Variety brings word of the show's developments, there remains little official on the plot front. It'll presumably Vision's story as the "white" Vision, who had his memories restored by original flavour Vision, as he seeks to explore his new purpose in life.
Whether Olsen might appear (mostly likely in flashback given the events of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness) remains to be seen, but Bettany is confirmed to return.

Following persistent rumors, we got confirmation that a new Disney+ WandaVision spin-off focusing on The Vision was in development at Marvel Studios back in 2022, but it seems the "Vision Quest" project has been completely revamped.
Variety reports that a new, untitled Vision series is in the works, with Star Trek: Picard executive producer Terry Matalas on board as showrunner. The show is currently on track for a 2026 premiere.
Matalas' work on Picard is said to have "greatly impressed the top brass at the studio. Marvel chief Kevin Feige, an avowed Trekkie, even recently appeared with Matalas on a two-hour episode of the Star Trek podcast Inglorious Treksperts.”
Paul Bettany will reprise his role as the McU's tragic synthezoid. There's no mention of Elizabeth Olsen's (Scarlet Witch) potential involvement, but the trade does note that the series will take place after the events of WandaVision, "as ghost Vision presumably explores his new purpose in life.

‘WandaVision,’ a hit Marvel series focused on Wanda Maximoff and her grief, was praised for its innovative storytelling and deep character exploration. The show’s success led to two additional spinoffs: ‘Agatha,’ set to arrive on Disney+ later this year, and ‘Vision Quest.’

Marvel Studios is getting back into the Vision business. After years away from the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the emotionally devastating conclusion of WandaVision, Paul Bettany is getting rewired for a new series starring Marvel’s most endearing synthezoid. Marvel has tapped “Star Trek: Picard” executive producer Terry Matalas to resurrect Vision, the synthezoid played by Paul Bettany, for a new, untitled Disney+ series set for 2026, Variety has learned exclusively. Bettany will return to the role and Matalas will serve as showrunner.
After Vision died at the hands of Thanos in 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War,” he returned twice over in 2021’s “WandaVision,” first as a spectral creation by his beloved, Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), through magic powered by grief; then as a rebuilt, nuts-and-bolts android with a ghost white appearance and zero memory of his past life. When the two Visions battled in the “WandaVision” finale, Wanda’s Vision restored the ghost Vision’s memories, then Wanda allowed her Vision to fade from existence. Like any good superhero, Marvel Television has returned from the dead. The label is what the Marvel Netflix shows like "Daredevil" and the ABC ones like "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." were made under. Marvel Television was rendered defunct in 2019 after Marvel Studios absorbed it. Now, though its operations remain under the studio's purview, its name is being used again as part of an effort to more cleanly delineate the projects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel Studios will continue to be the label of the films, while Marvel Television will headline upcoming Disney+ programs like "Agatha All Along" and "Daredevil: Born Again." One of the problems with wanting to finally jump into enjoying a franchise is the homework. You have to know how this guy met that dude, why this fight has more emotional heft over another and on and on. And if the timeline itself jumps around and you’re trapped in different multiverses, it just adds to the complications. This is certainly the case with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which has 30+ films and more than a dozen TV series in or planned for Phases Four and Five alone, making it quite the daunting task to try to catch up and understand everything that’s going on. But now Marvel is looking to make that a bit easier for viewers, ensuring they can make the leap into the franchise wherever they want.

Marvel Exec Explains the Return of Marvel Television Banner for MCU Shows - Main Image
Marvel Studios recently announced that they are bringing back the "Marvel Television" banner for the upcoming MCU shows.
For the past few years, we've seen the MCU franchise expand to television as they are producing projects for Disney+ that are still part of the same universe as the big-screen releases.
However, the TV expansion has also added some confusion for the audience as they now feel that they are obligated to watch them in order to understand the other MCU releases, especially on the theatrical side.
Now, Marvel Studios has come up with a new banner that addresses the issues on its TV output.

A lot of the shows have received pretty tepid reactions from fans, but some, like the recent X-Men ’97 are being raved about. So what’s the best Marvel show on Disney Plus so far? Take our poll and weigh in with your thoughts in the comments!

Despite Francis Ford Coppola criticizing Marvel’s influence on Hollywood, it was an MCU series that overlapped with his “Megalopolis.”
Aubrey Plaza, who plays character Wow Platinum in Coppola’s epic and also stars in upcoming “Agatha All Along” Disney+ series, told Deadline that she brought some Marvel shenanigans to the “Megalopolis” set. Both projects were filmed on the same lot in Atlanta, with their respective productions overlapping for two weeks.
“I would literally go from one to the other and would put my Wow wig on and my Wow costume on. And then the next day, I would go to the ‘Agatha’ set and I’d be dressed as a warrior witch with a dagger and stuff. At one point, when I was dressed in the Marvel character, I snuck onto the ‘Megalopolis’ set and I started harassing Giancarlo Esposito and Adam [Driver] and everyone,” Plaza recalled. “It was absolutely insane behavior.

Barbie and The Fall Guy star Ryan Gosling remains a firm fan favourite to play the McU's Johnny Blaze in a future Ghost Rider project. However, as we write this, there's still no clear indication that Marvel Studios plans to bring the Spirit of Vengeance back to theaters.
Supernatural stories like Werewolf at Night and the upcoming Agatha All Along (and even Ironheart) may set the stage for an eventual debut, but is Gosling still interested?
Asked by Josh Horowitz about getting the seal of approval from Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, the actor said, "This was a magical moment. I told Josh I would like to play Ghost Rider. He found Kevin Feige, corners him, does an interview with him. When he says, 'I would like this,' all the lights go off."
As for whether there's been any real movement on that front, a cagey Gosling responded, "I don't know.

Agatha All Along has been highly anticipated by fans ever since Kathryn Hahn’s performance stole the show in WandaVision. Even though she was the antagonist, the audience adored the character and could not stop talking about where her story was going to go after the 2021 series ended.
Kathryn Hahn plays Agatha Harkness in WandaVision.
While the hype has certainly died down comparatively, Hahn may have just teased a very important detail from the series that would make fans very excited. Will the upcoming series feature the Scarlet Witch by bringing her back from the dead?

The anticipation and conversation around Agatha All Along have been seemingly ever-increasing ever since the permanent name for the series was announced. The series is coming with a lot of expectations, following up on the excellence of WandaVision and the hype that Agatha Harkness has around her.

By the time Agatha All Along lands on Disney+ this September, it will have been several years since the WandaVision spinoff formally began brewing at the streamer. Understandably, then, it’s “very surreal” for series star Kathryn Hahn to at last be promoting the series ahead of its fall release.
“It really is a very surreal chapter that’s starting for us,” Hahn told TVLine’s Matt Webb Mitovich on the red carpet at Disney’s Upfront presentation on Tuesday. “It’s finally coming home to roost that we got to do this, that we got to do it with this group of people,...

Agatha made her debut in the Disney+ series ‘WandaVision’ as the curious neighbor turned formidable witch attempting to steal Wanda’s powers. By the series’ conclusion, Agatha is vanquished and trapped in her mundane neighbor guise, stripped of her powers, a transition likely to be depicted in the show’s premiere episode. The characters’ bond is rooted in the comics, where Agatha ranks among the most potent sorcerers in the Marvel Comics Universe.
Adding to a string of revelations, we now have another update. While fans had already speculated that the show would be a musical based on hints and theories, it has finally been officially confirmed.
Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, and Kathryn Hahn, speaking to Deadline, offered a glimpse into the upcoming show, teasing its comedic brilliance and giving fans a taste of what’s to come.

Agatha debuted in the Disney+ series ‘WandaWision,’ as the nosy neighbour-turned-powerful witch who tried to steal Wanda’s powers. By the end of the show, Agatha is defeated and trapped in her noisy neighbor persona, left powerless, which will obviously translate to the first episode of the show. The two characters share a connection from the comics, with Agatha being one of the most powerful magic users in the Marvel Comics Universe.
Now following a series of revelations, we’ve gotten one more update. Although fans already suspected that the show will be a musical based on what we’ve seen (and speculated) so far, it’s finally been confirmed.
Speaking for Deadline, Joe Locke, Patti LuPone and Kathryn Hahn teased a hilarious show and prepared fans for what to expect:

Sometimes, even big stars like Sara Haines from The View have been known to be stage-struck over other celebrities and ask for photos and autographs.
It happened recently to Sara as she and the other ladies took time from their busy week to attend the 2024 Disney upfronts.
These events showcase all the new and returning shows to garner excitement from investors and advertisers.
This particular one was so special that even the nearly retired Whoopi Goldberg took time to meet with the ladies at the event to discuss The View.

After spectacularly stealing the show with her immaculate portrayal of Agatha Harkness in the fan-favorite WandaVision, Kathryn Hahn is all set to reprise her role in her own soon-to-hit-the-screens action series alongside Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal. That being said, details about the first trailer of this upcoming show have also been revealed recently along with the series’ seemingly final title.
Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness in WandaVision.
Needless to say, Hahn and Plaza most certainly had viewers seated at the edge of their seats when the trailer (yet to go online) showed both of their characters in the most unexpected ways, building up even more anticipation among fans for the same. As for the title which has been changed multiple times previously, for now, it seems to be standing still at Agatha All Along.

Last night during Disney's 2024 Upfronts presentation, we finally got release dates for Agatha All Along and Daredevil: Born Again, as well as confirmation that Ironheart will debut on Disney+ sometime in 2025.
New logos for the shows were also unveiled, and while teaser trailers were screened for those in attendance, they have not (and likely won't be) released online.
Different versions of the teasers are sure to be officially released before too long, but for now, we have a breakdown of the footage (via IGN).
The Born Again promo sees Matt Murdock don his familiar red costume, as his voiceover warns someone that the "entire system is against you... it's often David vs. Goliath." We then catch glimpses of Kingpin, Foggy Nelson, and Karen Page, and shots from a brief action sequence.
Right at the end, Murdock is asked, "what kind of a lawyer are you." He responds with, "a really good one,...

After months of hijinks, Marvel Studios Television (find more on that change here) announced yesterday that its upcoming WandaVision sequel will be titled Agatha All Along.
We're getting a two-episode Disney+ premiere on September 18 and, yesterday evening, Kathryn Hahn, Joe Locke, and Patti LuPone were on hand for the Walt Disney Company's Upfront presentation in New York to discuss the series.
"The thing about this show which I thought was so thrilling [is] that Jac Schaeffer, who wrote it and also wrote WandaVision...it was very important to her and Mary Livanos, our producer, that there be as minimal CGI," Hahn explained, "so there's very little that is not practical magic or just our magic.
"That was a very exciting something to set up that we were able to prove again and again we could do it," the actress continued. "So, it's minimal CGI, but that was very thrilling. [The] sets are incredible.

We've known for some time now that 2024 is something of a recalibration year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe after a rough past year for the blockbuster franchise. But with Wolverine & Deadpool just weeks away and X-Men '97 keeping the Marvel flag flying high on Disney+ right now, plans for Kevin Feige and co's big comeback are already well underway. And, during an announcement-laden Disney Upfront presentation yesterday, we got some big release updates for the studio's upcoming slate of Disney+ series.
Firstly, the House of Mouse — not Harkness — confirmed that they've been leading fans a merry dance with the titling of their upcoming WandaVision spin-off series, centred around everyone's favourite badass (and just plain bad) witch. It's not Agatha: House Of Harkness, The Coven Of Chaos, The Darkhold Diaries, or in fact The Lying Witch With Great Wardrobe. Turns out it was Agatha All Along, well, all along — cheeky devils!

It’s Agatha All Along: Multiple Title Changes for Upcoming Marvel Show Part of Hype - Main Image
Marvel finally reveals Agatha All Along as the official title of the WandaVision spinoff starring Kathryn Hahn.
Since the series' first announcement in 2021, it has had several subtitle changes: House of Harkness, Darkhold Diaries, and Coven of Chaos. The most recent one is The Lying Witch with the Great Wardrobe, a not-so-subtle callback to C.S. Lewis’s bestselling children’s novel. Marvel uploaded the latter’s title card earlier this week but immediately deleted it afterwards.
Fans will remember Agatha All Along as the viral hit song performed by Agatha in the seventh episode of WandaVision, where she reveals that she is not just the nosy neighbour Agnes but a witch who has been disrupting Wanda’s made-up reality in an attempt to steal her chaos magic.

Disney+ has revealed the release dates for its WandaVision spin-off, Agatha All Along and Daredevil: Born Again.
After several, tongue-firmly-in-cheek title changes, Disney+ has finally given its WandaVision spin-off a final title: Agatha All Along.
The cast, including Kathryn Hahn, Joe Locke and Patti LuPone, were promoting the series at Disney’s Upfront event yesterday, revealed the title and also when we get to see the series itself.
Agatha All Along will premiere on Disney+ on 18th September with two episodes, continuing with weekly episodes after that. There was also a trailer, but this hasn’t made its way online yet. We’ll make sure to share it once it does. However, IGN has detailed what the audience at the presentation saw, if you’re into that kind of thing.
“We can say that the coven is strong,” Hahn told Deadline at the event when asked for details about the new series.

Jimmy Kimmel is, without fail, the highlight of TV’s upfronts week every year; 2024 was no exception.
The “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host left no stone unturned in his annual profane and ruthless takedown of everything Disney (and everyone else in Hollywood) wants to sell to advertisers. Discovery.
He started things off with a huge announcement: Bob Iger’s successor at Disney as CEO is… an artificially intelligent Bob Iger clone. AIger.
“Bob isn’t going anywhere ever again anywhere,” Kimmel said. “We uploaded him to the cloud so that we can live in peace and prosperity under the watchful AI of the Iger. All hail AIger!

Marvel’s upcoming WandaVision spin-off starring Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness finally has an official title—for real this time—and a release date on Disney+.
The Agatha series has been through several titles over the years, including Agatha: House of Harkness, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, and Agatha: The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe. It turns out those constant title changes were the result of the titular pesky witch, and the actual title was unveiled during Disney’s 2024 Upfront Presentation: Agatha All Along. The first two episodes of the series will debut on Disney+ on September 18th.

It turns out those constant title changes were the result of the titular pesky witch, and the actual title was unveiled during Disney’s 2024 Upfront Presentation: Agatha All Along. The first two episodes of the series will debut on Disney+ on September 18th.

After a two-year absence from the upfront stage, Jimmy Kimmel was back Tuesday to take aim at Bob Iger, P Diddy, CBS and the new Golden Bachelorette.
Introduced by Kerry Washington — who he said was the “last decent lead-in I ever had” — Kimmel had fun with an artificial version of Bob Iger on screen and another version of the Golden Bachelor franchise called The Golden Retriever: Love is a Bitch.
Here’s his monologue:
“Let’s hear it for all the talented stars who were forced to come here today because of a clause in their contract their agents didn’t bother to read. I am glad you’re all inside. I heard Amazon left you guys out on the porch. You’re lucky you didn’t get stolen.”

During Disney’s upfront presentation today, where Bob Iger actually showed up for the first time in 30 years, Marvel announced the newest title for the Agatha Harkness show. Now it’s called “Agatha All Along.”
My husband has been joking that this would be the title and there it is.
During a video clip, all the various announced titles are flashed, and the “Agatha All Along” song from WandaVision plays.

The Marvel Studios series and WandaVision spinoff starring Kathryn Hahn finally has a set title.
Agatha All Along is the official title of the series, it was revealed at Disney’s upfront presentation Tuesday. Hahn and co-stars Joe Locke and Patti LuPone were on stage making the reveal, with the trio also unveiling the release date of Sept. 18. The show will premiere with two episodes, which is standard for Marvel.
The series has had several titles since it was announced in 2021. The subtitles have ranged from House of Harkness to Darkhold Diaries to Coven of Chaos. There have been so many title changes that it became a joke, with Marvel leaning in on the constant changes. In fact, Agatha: The Lying Witch with the Great Wardrobe popped up as a title on social media yesterday.
The new title is actually the name of the Agatha theme song that debuted in the seventh episode of WandaVision.

And it was “Agatha All Along.” After several other titles, the last one yesterday obviously meant as a gag, it appears that Marvel’s upcoming “WandaVision” spinoff series is actually “Agatha All Along.” That’s just one of the announcements at this year’s Disney Upfronts (the event where a studio pitches advertisers about what’s coming in the future).

The theme of Disney’s 2024 upfront presentation to advertisers Tuesday was “connections” — and not just because of the running bit started by “Deadpool” star Ryan Reynolds and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star Rob McElhenney, which involved their constant replaying of a five-second ad spot that said “Connections!” with a Disneyified logo and voiceover.
