- US theatrical version was cut for some sex jokes to achieve a more commercial PG-13 rating. International theatrical versions were uncut. However, the cut version was used for home video releases worldwide.
- Blu-ray editions contain an extended cut with an additional scene where Tuck hires a group of actors to play his family, whom FDR captures and replaces. This was cut to avoid an R rating, and features David Koechner and Rebel Wilson.
- Home video releases of the film contain three alternate endings. In the first alternate ending, Lauren is kidnapped and taken to a warehouse alongside FDR and Tuck, where she is forced to choose which one of them will be killed by the other. The ensuing action leads to the car chase featured at the end of the film. The second alternate ending shows Lauren choosing Tuck over FDR, with FDR carrying on life as a singleton. The third and final alternate ending sees FDR holding Tuck after the final explosion, as Lauren looks on.
- The runtime differences between the home video Director's uncut version and the U.S. edited theatrical are as follows: "1h 43m (103 min) (director's cut)" and "1h 37m (97 min) (edited)".
