Halo, one of Microsoft’s most iconic franchises, revolutionized the console Fps genre. Given that Halo Infinite did not meet the company’s expectations, 343 Industries may be planning to reveal an update for the franchise at the upcoming Xbox Summer Showcase.
At least this is what fans are hoping to see at the anticipated event. The latest game was released at the end of 2021. Three years have passed, and Infinite has not added a ton of content post-launch. The players want to see this legendary franchise reborn with a new game.
Halo Needs Something New From 343 Industries Fans are hoping to see a new Halo from 343 Industries.
Despite a strange development that nearly led to the game’s demise, Halo Infinite was finally released one year after its original release date, lacking the content that fans had eagerly anticipated.

When Castlevania dropped the fourth season of the highly popular anime series, fans got to see a new side of Trevor, Sypha, and Alucard. The season was considered one of the best, as it adapted the story from the game perfectly and still managed to leave an essence that was unique to the anime series.
Castlevania Season 4 | Powerhouse Animation Studios
However, the conditions of season 4 were not at all good, as Warren Ellis, the creator and writer of Castlevania, almost got it canceled after its third season. The creator once revealed that he nearly sacrificed the entire fourth season because he wanted to change the pace of the entire season, starting from the third season.
Initially, the first two seasons had only eight episodes, but with the third season, the series upgraded the number of episodes and added two additional episodes. This was, in a way, a positive move for Castlevania,...

Halo Infinite players have been quite creative with the forge mode, just like in previous installments of the franchise. Being the latest iteration of the forge mode, the one in Infinite is by far the most advanced and offers the most freedom and flexibility. Players have shown some really good creativity and versatility with the mode ever since.
The latest standout creation is a mode called Survive the Undead, which is now available in Halo Infinite’s matchmaking until June 4. It’s created by a group called The Forge Falcons, a well-known team of creators that features around a dozen members.
Classic Zombies Experience With a Halo Twist
Halo Infinite players can now play a version of the classic Zombies mode in the game.
The Survive the Undead mode brings the popular Call of Duty Zombies-like experience to Halo Infinite, using the Banished race of enemies from the main campaign.

Xbox, in particular, is finding the current generation to be a challenging business. Halo Infinite, one of their first console launches, was not even complete. According to Sura, an X insider at 343 Industries, the team behind the game has just registered a new unknown ID. This could mean that they are working on a new game in the franchise.
The timing is a little suspicious; Microsoft has just announced that it will open mobile stores, so there are also speculations about a possible mobile game from this very popular IP.

Halo Infinite is the first open-world game in the series, and its development cycle reflects that. Taking 6 years to develop on 343’s brand-new Slipspace engine, Infinite ended up releasing in 2021, after a year-long delay from its initial planned release.
Going the open-world route was a big point of debate for the return of Master Chief, as well as Infinite‘s unconventional direction as a “spiritual reboot” built on a smaller scale compared to other open-world titles. However, here’s why that might have been the very element that saved the franchise.
Halo Infinite’s Open World Is Much Different To Other Games
No padded-out fetch quests in Halo Infinite‘s map, says Crocker.
Speaking with The Gamer, Halo Infinite associate director Paul Crocker explained that the development team consciously avoided mimicking modern trends or relying on comparisons to other titles:

From sitcoms to superhero movies, the concept of multiverse is now every director’s favorite, it seems. From the world of animation to Hollywood, multiverses are really popular nowadays. However, Dcau filmmakers are not pretty happy about this special concept turning into an everyday theme.

DC Animated Universe (Dcau) started in 1992 and ended in 2006. However, filmmakers are still using comics to make animated movies and fans are really positive towards these kinds of movies. Ever since Xbox announced in February that they’ll port four first-party games from their back-catalog, namely Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, Pentiment, and Grounded, to competing platforms PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, speculation has run rampant about which games will be next.
Although Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer attempted to mitigate fan outrage by saying that the dams aren’t going to break after these four games, there’s been a storm of claims from industry insiders claiming there are more ports on the way, with Hellblade 2 named as one of them. Eminem’s next album might already exist, but it definitely didn’t arrive today. Fans sprinted to streaming services after he posted the 40-second video — which could benefit from having a warning for those with photosensitive epilepsy — only to be disappointed when nothing was actually there. They should’ve rushed to their calendar first.

Eminem, taking a page from Trent Reznor, trolled fans yearning for a new album by releasing a faux trailer for Infinite 2 on April Fools’ Day.
The video opens with screenshots of social media pleas from fans asking for a new Eminem album. Cue some 1996-era graphics and a movie narrator, who announces: “The highly-anticipated next studio album goes back to where it all started. Infinite but now it’s even more infinite. Out today!” The trailer is soundtracked by Eminem’s “Crack a Bottle.”
Though an obvious April Fools’ Joke, several Eminem admitted to being duped at first. “my dumbass still believed it despite being April 1st,” wrote one fan on reddit. Another added, “Mf Made Me Check Spotify With A Heart Attack.”
Fortunately for Eminem fans, a new and very real album is on the horizon, as Dr. Dre recently revealed. “Eminem is working on his own album, which is coming out this year,...

Arguably, the most famous fictional planet is Krypton -- the home of Kal-El, aka Clark Kent, aka Superman. We all know the story (though studios seem to think we don't) of how Krypton was destroyed, and how the sole (kind of) survivor was baby Kal-El. But while Krypton gets all the attention, it's not the only desolated former metropolis in the DC Universe.

Helldivers 2 has grown the name of this newfound franchise exponentially. Fans cannot stop playing this game, and newcomers cannot stop fawning over its marvelous gameplay mechanics. On the surface, it’s just a sci-fi co-op third-person shooter, but underneath, it’s a constantly evolving game based on a galactic war of mammoth proportions.
The dynamism of it all is what’s keeping its players from moving away. The game keeps on evolving, and its lore keeps on developing right in front of the eyes of its fans. As I get older, I find it harder and harder to find horror movies from the 80s and even 90s to qualify for a recommendation towards a best horror movie you never saw. First is the influx of all these great companies like Vinegar Syndrome, Arrow, and Severin Films, not to mention Kino and Scream Factory, who pull out all the stops finding the most hidden of hidden gems to clean up and release. Second, we have a ludicrous amount of streaming services, and the free ones typically can find these smaller movies that cost way less to license a streamable version. Between my generation recommending everything under the sun to their coworkers, friends, and family as well as newer generations being willing to stream something if its easy to find, the 80s is well represented, for better and for worse. But of course, this legendary musician tried to fight off the demons of fame and fortune when they manifested in the form of substance abuse and depression. Sheroes, the writing and directing debut of producer Jordan Gertner begins with a look into the lives of its four leads Diamond, Ezra, Ryder and Daisy.
Their lives are so hard that all of them end up exclaiming “This is such fucking bullshit” at the misery of private yoga lessons by the pool, selling art in an upscale gallery, being an actress or a professional skateboarder. You really feel bad for these poor young ladies and totally understand their need to jump on Diamond’s father’s private jet and fly to his villa in Thailand for a booze and drug-fueled vacation.
Complications and cliches ensue when one of their suitcases is accidentally switched with one full of cocaine. Which they proceed to snort the hell out of only to wake up the...

As Eminem was thrust into the public eye for his talents as a rapper after the release of his debut album, "Infinite," in 1996, his personal life quickly made headlines as well. Prior to dropping the album, the "Slim Shady" singer welcomed a daughter with his high school sweetheart, Kim Scott. The couple wed in June 1999 and later split after going through plenty of public rough patches, per People. According to Rolling Stone, their divorce was finalized in March 2001, but they wed for a second time in 2006, ultimately breaking things off again that same year.
Despite the fact that Eminem and Kim were not always on good terms, that didn't stop the rapper from stepping in to help her family. In the early 2000s, Eminem adopted Kim's sister, Dawn Scott's, daughter while Dawn struggled with drug use. Dawn later died in 2016 of a suspected drug overdose, per People.

British luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin celebrates its 110th anniversary this year, but its eyes are firmly on the road ahead, not the rear-view mirror. On May 24, at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, in Antibes, France, near Cannes, the company unveils the first of its next generation of sports cars and the following evening the new model will go to the highest bidder at the AmfAR Charity Gala at the hotel. Then, on May 28, a short dash along the Riviera, the brand’s Formula 1 team races at the Monaco Grand Prix.
Commenting on the choice of the Cannes Film Festival as the venue to launch the new model, Aston Martin’s global chief brand and commercial officer, Marco Mattiacci, says: “The movie business is where we belong.”

Latin representation in television and film has dropped to 2019 levels, according to a new diversity report from the Latino Donor Collaborative, a nonprofit that researches the Latin community in the U.S.
According to its 2022 report, the percentage of Latin stars, co-stars, showrunners and directors all decreased from 2021 to 2022. Last year saw 2.6 percent Latin leads on television, as opposed to 2.9 percent the year before; 2.6 percent co-leads in 2022 versus 3.7 percent in 2021; 1.4 percent of showrunners last year, contrary to 2.5 percent the year before; and 1.5 percent Latin directors as opposed to 2.5 percent in 2021.
Film projects also saw a drop in Latin representation, including stars, screenwriters and directors between 2021 and 2022, despite the population making up 19 percent of the country. Latin stars made up 5.1 percent of films in 2022, more than two percent less than the year before. However, when it came to co-stars, there was a brief increase, with 4.5 percent of co-lead ensembles being led by Latin people,...

A weird thing happened to me at the start of March. After weeks of grinding the Ccg Marvel Snap, I had finally climbed the ranks during the game’s ‘Into the Quantum Realm’ season. Previous seasons had seen me hit rank 50 or 60 at best, but as I crested 90 I realized that this was my moment. I was going to smash 100. The ‘Infinite’ rank.
I got there because a Snap Collector’s Cache had randomly spat out Series 4 golden girl Shuri, a rare card with a 58.2% win rate. With Shuri in your deck, you can double the power of the next card you play. That means a 30-power Red Skull followed by a 30-power Taskmaster. It means a 16-power Black Panther that Armin Zola can destroy and copy twice to create two 32-power Black Panthers. With the right locations and some reduced card costs per game, you can easily be slapping...

It’s Bioshock Infinite on Safe Room this week, but be sure to check out our look at a selection of bite-sized horror games in the March edition of Horror Bytes.
Few franchises have cemented themselves into the pantheon of spiritual successors that expand upon their influences with such staggering visual and thematic language as Bioshock has. From the underwater dystopian of Rapture to the militantly theocratic and fascist society in the skies of Columbia, the Bioshock brand has never shied away from exploring the unfettered abuses of power by man. And ten years later, Irrational Games’ most controversial entry in the series, Bioshock: Infinite, proves that there is plenty of conversation still to be had.
So for this week’s lengthy chat, we’re joined by returning friend Michael Sandal to unpack Infinite’s inclusion of a fully voiced protagonist, how the game avoids feeling like one long escort mission,...

Following up one of last year’s finest (and most overlooked) films, Benediction, Terence Davies has been prepping his next project for some time. First announcing it two years ago, the English director has written an adaptation of Stefan Zweig’s novel The Post Office Girl, published posthumously in 1982. One of Wes Anderson’s inspirations for The Grand Budapest Hotel, the book is set in post-wwi and follows a female post-office clerk who lives outside Vienna.

Kindling, the feature debut from British writer-director Connor O’Hara, has been acquired by Signature Entertainment for the U.K. and Ireland.
The film, produced by Mark Foligno (The King’s Speech, Moon) and Jamie Gamache, was inspired by O’Hara’s short film Infinite starring 1917 lead George MacKay, which was also produced by Gamache under the Lowkey Films banner he established with O’Hara.
Kindling follows Sid (George Somner, Sex Education), who creates a plan to make his final summer unforgettable after receiving a terminal diagnosis. Reuniting with his childhood friends in their hometown, he gives each a category and asks them to find a memento that reflects that word and their friendship. Once they’ve gathered the items, they’ll meet at the end of the week, building a fire together to burn the items they have collected in a ritual that Sid...

Edison Research, provider of Edison Podcast Metrics, the largest and most complete survey of podcast listening, announced today that it has developed a complementary service to count downloads for participating publishers. After months of research, Edison is utilizing a new method for determining U.S. downloads that does not employ a redirect nor involve delivery of log files.
“We have developed an elegant new solution that will enhance our unique Edison Podcast Metrics survey,” said Edison Research President Larry Rosin. “While our survey of 20,000 podcast listeners each year provides the most complete look at the totality of actual listening to podcasts, download data will provide deeper information to subscribers, especially for smaller and short-run shows.”
Edison Podcast Metrics is the only survey measurement of U.S. weekly podcast listeners currently available. It covers the entire podcasting category with data about listening, not downloading. As such, it covers listening across all platforms and cannot be manipulated.

Released in 1980 the original Terror Train was one of the many slashers to be released in the wake of Friday the 13th and Halloween. Benefiting from the presence of that film’s star, Jamie Lee Curtis it did well at the box office and has built a following over the years. There was even an attempt to remake it in the early 2000s, but that ended up morphing into Train, a film that sucked even by torture porn standards.
Since the original was a favourite of mine, I was initially interested when I heard it had been remade and was scheduled for an October release. However, when I heard Tubi was involved, a lot of that interest faded. As...

Antoine Fuqua might have been known best for his big screen blockbuster work, but in the past few years, he's made a pretty triumphant transition to streaming. Of course, it took some "adjusting" on the director's part — with the Mark Wahlberg starrer "Infinite" quietly released on Paramount+, and the Jake Gyllenhaal-led thriller "The Guilty" making a similar debut on Netflix — but Fuqua has since found a major groove with television. With producer credits on the celebrated "Mayor of Kingstown" and the recent release of Prime Video series "The Terminal List," Fuqua is enjoying the freedom that long-form entertainment affords.
"I found it to be a really positive thing," Fuqua told /Film's Jack Giroux. The freedom of the new streaming landscape reminds the filmmaker of the risk-taking on display in the '70s. "You got a chance to just come in and try some things and be brave," Fuqua added,...

HBO Max is about to say farewell to a number of fantastic films, but this time it's not related to their current slaughter. Since HBO Max first launched in May 2020, the streamer has consistently had absolutely stellar offerings of original programming and acquisitions alike, but these days it's hard to keep track with everything they keep sending to the gallows. HBO Max has served as the final streaming resting place for much of the catalog of their parent company, Warner Bros., and yet there are a surprising number of Warner Bros. releases leaving HBO Max at the end of September. Odd.
Regardless, here are five films leaving HBO Max that are absolutely worth checking out before they're sent back into the void ... or hopefully to another streamer.

“Halo” is a hit built for the future of TV.
The Paramount+ drama-fantasy series based on the enduring video game franchise has done its job domestically for the streamer: It ranks No. 2 to “Yellowstone” prequel “1883” as the streamer’s most-watched original series on Paramount+, and it fueled sign-up activity for weeks around its March 24 debut.
But Paramount Global’s real payoff for investing nearly 10 million an episode on the series is just starting. “Halo,” a Microsoft-owned franchise with 21 years and counting of storytelling history, has been a cornerstone of the international rollout strategy for Paramount+ that has picked up speed this year.

Sony ruled for another week as “Uncharted” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (both 19.99) each had #1 showings: The video game adaptation is #1 at iTunes and Vudu, while the massive Marvel hit took top spot at Google Play.
This reinforces the strategic wisdom of two Sony decisions: the extended theatrical window for both films (far longer than the now-standard 45 days) and relying on PVOD rather than the increasingly costly and competitive realm of in-house streaming. It also maintains flexibility, with the Marvel underachiever “Morbius” arriving on PVOD release May 17. Sony seems to key its releases to when theatrical viability wanes.
Tomorrow will see “The Lost City” (Paramount/19.99) on PVOD and Paramount+. As with “The Batman,” the studio’s PR announcement pushed streaming. The Sandra Bullock/Channing Tatum romantic adventure could make the 100 million domestic mark (94 million through the weekend), which can deotermine film rental settlements with theaters.

New Release Wall
“Encanto” succeeded with the notion of “no villain, except generational trauma,” and Disney keeps that idea going with the delightful “Turning Red” (Walt Disney Home Entertainment), a young woman’s coming-of-age story that’s a metaphor for any number of growing-up issues, including that moment when the “model” child begins to chafe at parental domination. It’s charming and adorable, and the boy-band songs by Billie Eilish and Finneas have already made their way into the latter’s stage act.
Also available:
“The Batman” (Warner Bros. Home Entertainment) Does a three-hour superhero saga have deleted scenes? You bet your bat-hook, and they’re on the 4K/Blu-ray/DVD release alongside other extras.
“Blacklight” (Universal Pictures Home Entertainment) Liam Neeson in the first of two (to date) 2022 thrillers that suggest that maybe it’s time for him to put down the gun.

Tom Holland is having quite a moment on the VOD charts right now. “Uncharted” (19.99) leads at Vudu and iTunes, while the actor’s other blockbuster, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is #1 at Google Play. Sony’s dominance of this week’s PVOD charts, with newly released “Uncharted” and long running “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (5.99) splitting the #1 spots on the three charts we follow, reinforces two narratives.
First, not having an in-house streaming service need not deprive a studio from reaping strong at-home revenues. Second, and critical for theaters as they recover, is that a long window is no hindrance to reaping the benefits of initial high return PVOD prices.
Contrast that with “The Batman” (Warner Bros./24.99). After two full weeks out on PVOD and on HBO Max (free there for subscribers), along with an HBO cable showing, the biggest 2022 grossing film fell to #3 at Vudu, and #6 at both iTunes and Google Play.

Bam! Pow! Crack! That’s the sound of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (Sony/5.99) holding back the ascension of “The Batman” (Warner Bros./24.99) on two out of three PVOD charts.
“The Batman” debuted a week ago, but “Spider-Man” held on to the #1 spot at both iTunes and GooglePlay, with “The Batman” second at both. Those sites rank by number of transactions, irrespective of revenue. At Vudu, which calculates by money, not individual sales, “The Batman” ranks #1 for the week, with “Spider-Man” #3..
The well-timed price drop looks like a strategic play on Sony’s part. Price reduction is a normal part of VOD play, but it’s unusual when a film is still thriving as PVOD. Whatever the motive, the result prevents Warner Bros. from claiming a clear victory.
Even so: Spider-Man and Batman represent apples and oranges. Sony’s “Spider-Man” has no streaming outlet while “The Batman” also debuted last Monday on HBO Max.

Marvel and D.C. Comics will never team their two biggest superheroes, but this week sees Spider-Man and Batman go head to head at home. “The Batman” (Warner Bros./29.99) is likely to displace “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (Sony/19.99) as the #1 title on PVOD charts next week.
“Spider-Man” is #1 again for the fifth week on all three charts we follow, an unprecedented achievement and one that “The Batman” will not repeat. It’s the top-grossing film of 2022, but at 365 million that’s less than half of Marvel’s 2021 monster hit. “The Batman” also has more competition, and not just from upcoming releases like “Uncharted” and “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”
Its biggest competition is itself: Warners announced last week that the film would debut on HBO Max April 18. That’s the same day it became available on PVOD, but Warners provided no promotion for its same-day availability.
