The Out-Laws (2023)
Brutally unfunny
It's depressing that this passes as comedy. That's being charitable. I honestly think this is an insult to filmmaking. Every aspect of this embarrassing production is so lazy. Being obnoxious is not talent, and that's all you'll see here. This movie feels like they were making up the story as they went. So many scenes feel like bad improv. Who approves this trash? All of the people involved must be under a contract with Netflix to produce "something" every so often. I've seen high school kids come up with more creative storylines in a single day. It just seems like a waste to me. Everyone kind've tried. Do it right or don't do it at all.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)
Regressing
It's 2022. You can do anything you want to show how strong and awesome women are, and this is what you do. This is like anti-feminism. In order to have confidence you need to be a man? Copy the hulk, but also talk down to men and portray them as stupid. So you're actually being a horrible man. This is the equality message you want? Are you serious? This seems like a prank, and yet here we are.
They/them-Hulk would probably be better than this. Come on women, be your own badass selves, you don't have to copy men or be better or put down the opposite gender. We're past this childish perspective.
Black Bird (2022)
Good job Apple
The acting and storytelling is riveting. This is well done. And there's no liberal hubris forcing "the message" down everyone's throats. Women are strong because they are strong, period. It's almost as if someone realized we like quality characters and substance over 21st century politics in our free time to escape.
Prey (2022)
Thumbs up
A lot was done right here. Awesome concept of an older 1700's predator among Native Americans. Remember in the 80's when Sarah Connor or Ripley could just be a bad A. Acknowledge sexism once and move on? Why are we regressing to stupidity? The target audience is what, 13yr old boys and girls?
Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
Forced
"Don't help me Obiwan, I'm my only hope."
Post-modern feminism sure is fun in sci-fi entertainment.
Do or do not, there is no, well whatever, you can half a$$ it, make sure no one is straight and destroy the patriarchy. Saaweeeeeeeet! Fans were always the problem. Actually, let's stick it to them, now you can't catch a six year old. Perfect. A timeless masterpiece of art.
Deep Water (2022)
Beautifully filmed, poorly ended.
I'll be honest, I couldn't stop watching. The acting was pretty awesome. Cinematography top notch. Interesting ideas. Like a twist on fatal attraction. There needed to be a correlation with the snails in my opinion. That went nowhere. The ending of a movie can be ambiguous, sometimes that's the best option, but it didn't work here. I was left wanting. The film definitely invokes emotions. I felt empty and dissatisfied after, and I blame it on subpar writing.
The Bubble (2022)
Failed parody
A lot of misused talent here. Except for awkward unfunny Kate McKinnon, she is her usual annoying self, making sure the movie sucks.
I like most of Judd's movies, this one is painfully written and acted. The timing is always off. It's definitely for the mouth breathers out there.
Bad Vegan: Fame. Fraud. Fugitives. (2022)
What a stupid story
She helped burn 6 million dollars and only got 4 months.... People genuinely got screwed here, and she plays up the victim for like 4 hours. Complicit lunacy. She even f'd over her own mom. I didn't need this story in my life.
Peacemaker (2022)
Pretty funny; tainted w/ politics
Some fun to be had here. I try to ignore the self-righteous woke preaching but it's constantly front and center. Leave it out Gunn, I want to escape leftist politics in silly shows like this. The "save America" speech in the season finale was so cringe.
Don't Look Up (2021)
The left can't meme
Climate alarmists applaud this as genius satire. It's honestly not that funny, or intelligent.
The people praising it crack me up, like they have this profound, unique understanding of how to be proper stewards of planet earth. Hard eye roll.
Santa Inc. (2021)
I love this!
When champagne socialists and post-modern feminists don't realize THEY are the racist sexist problem = Santa Inc. Is born. The irony here is golden. Seth Rogan should pivot to being a CNN anchor where they applaud this trash. What happened to you Seth?
The Power of the Dog (2021)
It's not worth your time
Cumberbatch's accent is so distracting. He's a great actor, but.... This isn't Montana. From the mountains to the stags and chamois on the walls.... clearly New Zealand. Almost a plot, with almost character development, and everyone starts talking Oscars? Please. I'd call this insulting to anyone that likes westerns. This is a drama kid's fantasy with no clear message.
Midnight Mass (2021)
Almost good.
Thought provoking to drivel. It reminded me of letting your Cali friend preach to you about life and death. Suspense building is great. The cinematography is great. Dialogue is interesting at times, but devolves into teenage level philosophy. Knock organized religion, but really just Christians, Muslims have it right.... Thanks Hollywood. Have your vampiric cake and throw it on the ground.
The Harder They Fall (2021)
Not contemporary art
Cuz I'm lightnin wit da blam blams.
Literal dog-sh** writing. Critics have to say it's good to avoid progressive backlash. It's cringe after cringe. Make a diverse western, I'd love it. This is embarrassing.
Halloween Kills (2021)
Well......
I kinda liked how it showed how idiotic mob mentality is. Then Jamie Lee Curtis said the mob is great, just like the BLM movement. Sooooo, cringe-worthy. Zero self awareness.
Ava (2020)
Ripoff of a knockoff
To be fair, it's a movie... The reviews saying it's the best ever are fake. Chastain is a good actor but this is B quality in every aspect of filmmaking.
