ER (1994)
"Yin," but not without its "yang"
The reason that I named my comment what I named it is because, theoretically in some cultures, everything has a good side and a bad side, or opposite. Day, night, light, dark. So, in my opinion, ER could be better if they tried to work harder on the yang. First of all, every single one of the actors is among the best in the industry, so don't get me wrong there. I'm talking about Dr. Weaver's lesbianism. All I want to do is watch ER with my mother and we can't see a full episode of the show without being bombarded with references to Weaver's sexual orientation. This probably won't even be put on the site because it's "politically incorrect" but I don't care. Anyways, the whole show is great, except for said point.
Hiding Out (1987)
all right, all right
I noticed that no one who left a comment said anything really bad about it. Gee, I wonder why. Could it be because it's a great movie?
I loved this movie. I'm surprised that it didn't have a bigger following amongst teens and young adults back then. Weirdos.
Even Stevens (2000)
Funny, dude
This show is awesome, not only because it's a funny show, but also because it has its sensitive moments. It portrays a real family, not just one that constantly hurls insults at one another and has no remorse. There are also a lot of valuable lessons that kids could really use in this show. Louis, who almost always ruins things for himself and anyone standing within 500 feet of him, always ends up paying for what he's done. The same goes for the other characters. The only bad thing is the childish slapstick effect (speeding up the film and silly noises) that attracts the younger viewers. It's always important, however, to remember that this is the Disney channel and it's not always going to be totally serious. I would like to see this show go to NBC or ABC as a good family comedy because Shia LaBeouf and Christy Carlson Romano are great actors and really fit into their roles. You can tell that they have great futures ahead of them.
Seinfeld (1989)
How people could NOT like this show is beyond me.
How could you NOT like this show? If you don't like this show, then you're probably into the fast-food kind of humor, like MTV, where everything is just made to automatically make everyone laugh and you feel guilty afterwards. Seinfeld, however, is geared for more intelligent viewers, as Jerry Seinfeld is one of the most gifted comedians of our day. Seinfeld makes you laugh and you don't regret laughing at it later on, because the humor is in the irony and the selfishness of the characters. It's just up to you to dig it out. So if you didn't like this show, that's your loss.
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
Hey, I saw it and I thought it was pretty darn good.
Drove to the movies. Bought a ticket. Sat down. Watched the previews. What I didn't know was that, as soon as I sat down, I would be taken to a world that's almost as good as the book itself. It was really good. Go see it.
The Sifl & Olly Show (1998)
whoa
This show really made me go insane. Not only is it hilariously funny, the voice of Olly (Liam Lynch) is really nice. Not to say that Sifl's voice (Matt Crocco) isn't. If you just watch it once, you'll "fall in love" with the regulars: Sifl (black sock), Olly (the white sock), Chester (a little guy who thinks he's so cool but he's kind of, um, not), and Precious Roy (the guy that Sifl and Olly sell stuff for. One time, they're actually selling Olly I'd buy him. ;D ). Sifl and Olly is a show that MTV really missed out on by taking it off the air. They should have given it more time.
