King Tweety (2022)
Tweety is Back!!
I couldn't have loved this more! Tweety is back!! - this new group of filmmakers nailed it! Sylvester and Granny got their due... and the new characters were perfect... not the least of which is Floorbo (a Roomba - yes - Roomba!) It's non-stop laughs from beginning to end and I really hope this means more Tweety movies and more from the team that made this!
The Terrible Adventure (2020)
Family Friendly Film with Indie Heart!
Absolutely awesome seeing a family-friendly film done with indie spirit! The filmmaking was really special - very much looking forward to seeing more from Kel Thompson!
Wade in the Water (2019)
Fantastic story that sticks with you!
Watched this movie after reading Stephen King's tweet - and it did not disappoint. It's a captivating story that sticks with you and Tom Nicholson is fantastic. Looking forward to seeing more from this team!
The Brink (2020)
Nailed the Genre!
Love this genre and this movie handles the material in a minimalist and beautiful way. Excellent performances ... highly recommend!
Immi the Vegan (2021)
Immi's World
What a beautifully made and charming film. Guy Pigden is an extremely talented filmmaker and I look forward to anything he does. The world-building was excellent and the characters were so truthful. Really enjoyed this - very funny - easy to love.
Framed (2021)
This is what indie filmmaking is!
Really well-executied indie with excellent performances. Great score! Really leaned into the jazz. Overall - this movie was a pleasant surprise and I'm glad I found it!
The Wolf of Snow Hollow (2020)
Indie Thriller With Heart!
Perfectly balanced movie that hits all the right notes. Plenty of laughs and jump scares and a beautifully told story underneath the horror/thriller genre. Great performances and an awesome twist that subverts expectations.
A Killer Rising (2020)
Indie Thriller!
Excellent Protagonist! Great story with unexpected plot twists! Indie Triller at it's best!
Some Southern Waters (2020)
Filmmaker to Watch!
What a gorgeous and surreal movie! Very inspiring work with bold choices!
The story was compelling and well crafted and it was visually astounding. Excellent performances and a fantastic score as well. The filmmakers have a bright future ahead of them and can't wait to see what they do next!
Purdah (2018)
Brilliant Cinema Vérité
This is the sports story we need right now. It's the best of "Million Dollar Arm" without a white knight. It's everything you want from an aspirational movie. "One should not kill children's dreams" is a line that will stick with me for a long time. It was also nice to see a truly Cinema Vérité Doc - I felt completely immersed in the story! Highly Recommend!
The Berlin Bride (2019)
Independent Film at it's Best!!
This movie completely blew me away! It belongs to a different era and I mean that in the best possible way! It's inconceivable to me how the filmmakers were able to capture the charm of an absurdest 70's arthouse movie. It's the best of silent films and Avant-Garde filmmaking and on top of all that... it's creepy as hell! Bravo!
Northwood Pie (2019)
Indie Coming of Age
Really enjoyed this little coming of age drama. You can tell it's personal and that makes all the difference. Great casting and performances - the dialogue / banter flowed and felt really authentic. It felt like it was living the world of Adventureland which I really loved. Easy Recommend. A+
Occurrence at Mills Creek (2020)
Family Horror!
Some of the best horror films are family films -- no exception here! This setting and tone were killer... very David Lynch. Solid scares - great performances. Really sticks with you!
The Crumbs (2020)
Indie Horror Doing What It Does Best
Indie Horror is my favorite genre and it's so rad to see something that's original and hits all the beats you're hoping for - even some lighthearted character moments. Well worth it if you're a fan of the genre!
Older (2020)
Triple Threat!
The lead is an actual triple threat that I can't wait to see more from. Guy Pidgen wrote, directed, and starred in this indie drama. He took some great risks you wouldn't see in a studio film and they completely paid off. The theme of getting older and the choices we make along the way is something that's easy to sink into. Great performances and beautifully shot. Easy recommend!
The Redeeming (2018)
Indie Thriller
Amazing character development in this indie thriller! Echoing Agatha Christie and Virginia Wolf - a really thoughtful two-handed psychological thriller. Really strong performances, especially from Tracy Ann Wood.
Dirty Beautiful (2015)
Chance Encounter
Movies are meant to showcase a spectacular moment in the character(s) lives and the chance encounter of David and Kat is what sets this excellent indie into motion! Really happy I came across this one... it's shot beautifully - excellent pacing - just an all-around excellent film. Highly Recommend!
