La vita bugiarda degli adulti (2023)
A masterpiece!
Elena Ferrante's books never let you down. This specific storyline based on her latest book is another gem of great italian cinema. It is a story about a young teenage girl's coming of age through a series of events and life lessons with her whole world falling apart that give her a ride like a roller coaster. But besides the story, the series' production value is unbelievable! Impeccable acting, art direction and cinematography. Edoardo de Angelis' direction is a true masterpiece. A masterclass for future directors. And last but not least, Valeria Golino gives a mesmerizing performance that stands out! The greatest performance of her career!
And Just Like That...: Hello It's Me (2021)
Why?
Why did you have to ruin an epic girly series into THIS?
So cringy scenes, pathetic, depressing, awkward...pffff. Heavily pretentious, squeezing-in all the IT staff just to be relatable. Really, you didnt have to do this. Samantha was clever enough not to be part of this hideous project.
And just like that...you ruined it!
The Morning Show: Fever (2021)
I dont understand the hateful reviews!
Really enjoyed the series. I mean really! I was mesmerized by Steve Carrell's performance on season 2 especially in the episode La vita amara. I hate today's "cancel culture" and thought that every person has a right to redemption. So to recap: Loved:
- Alex, Mitch, Bradley and of course Cory! Their performance was stellar!
- The italian touch with the exception of the american tourist that bullied Mitch- what a ridiculous act!
- The dimensional edge on each of the lead characters and how they grow through their journey
Hated: -The Side stories of: nagging Daniel, Mia-new boss from hell- totally unlikeable, clown-makeup weather man, Stella -ugh! Unbearable to watch and finally Laura.
- The opening titles: probably the worst design and most annoying opening titles AND song, I have ever watched in a series. Please change them. I skip them but still hate them.
The Flight Attendant (2020)
What an awful flight!
I gave it two stars just for the opening titles and the graphics.
The rest is unbearble, impossible to watch.
Leading character is obnoxious. Hyperventilating all the time, gasping, fidgeting, rolling eyes, you call this acting?
I hated it. Made it only through the first episode, not to mention it gave me bad headache. What a waste of time! Dont bother.
Succession (2018)
A Perfect 10.
The story. The cast. The characters. The writing. The MUSIC. The Direction and the cinematography. The opening titles. All is flawless. All is perfection. 10 out of 10. Hard to beat this series. A true masterpiece!
Crisis in Six Scenes (2016)
Woody Allen is back!
This is a gem! Really had a blast with the series. The story, the dialogues, the cast, and best of all ...Woody Allen's genial jokes! After my huge disappointment in his latest movie, I trully enjoyed these series. He's back! Not to miss!
The Morning Show (2019)
Loved it but....
Really loved it. Steve Carell's perfromance is stellar. Aniston's character meltdowns epic!
But: the Cast could use some fine tuning:
Aniston's husband obnoxious, her daughter unbearable with bad acting, totally unfitting ' family'
Also the side stories: are all boooooring. I mean:
Mia- ugh!! Nerve- wrecking boring character and acting
The Weatherman with a ton of make up also indifferent and boring
Junior booker's rise to the top story, simply pathetic.
Last but not least, I feel that Aniston and Reese have no chemistry whatsoever. Not at all.
Friends: The Reunion (2021)
An ode to Friends that will make your heart melt
An emotional trip down to memory lane with some twists and surprises. The last 15 minutes I cried.
The only flaw was James Corden...Ugh!. . Really spoiled the vibe for me.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017)
A fairytale gone bad.
Started this show with high hopes but in the middle of the first season the show got worse and worse so did the protagonist mrs. The only character that is actually funny is Susie. Art direction and costumes are both stunning.
Story is super bs, science fiction. Dont bother.
Dream Home Makeover (2020)
They both need character make over. Ugh
A bored housewife who thinks she is a top designer. Ok. Has some money cretaes a company, hires some basic salary designers who do ll the work while she takes the credit.
And she goes on door to door to other narcisist hillbillies and pretends she has a milion ideas to brighten up their lives.
Dont bother. TRASH TV
My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman (2018)
Love the set up, but want to punch the host
If you have time some to kill, if you are suffocating with pandemic boredom, u can watch his show. His 'jokes' I cant stand them. He is an obnoxious old american man tryung to play cool and relevant, but why doesnt he go to retirement, is he so greedy? The only episode that is worth your time is Obama and Robert Downey. Seriously.
Emily in Paris (2020)
Tacky, poor taste and wanna-be elegant but with no hope of an American hilbilly in Paris
This is what happens when Americans come across european elegance, beauty and culture. They try to fit-in, with no hope, they try to blend in with no luck and try struggle to mingle again with no hope, so what do they do? They baptise the opposite party with cliches, try to ridicule it and they put on some poor taste "american chic" clothes and they just make a fool of them selves.
Dont bother watching this. Really. Unless you are a us citizen.
The Social Dilemma (2020)
Blah blah blah.
Boring. Pretentious. American junk. Boring. Repetitive.
Dont bother👎🏻
Dirty John (2018)
Season 1. Intersting story although quite nerve- wrecking
I really cannot grasp at the idea that this character really exists out there. And I am talking about this woman that gets involved with a random stranger, ignores totally the massive red flags on her "beloved" John, marries him in the blink of an eye, puts her family on the side and for what? The love of a sociopath psycho? This maybe the dumbest no-brain woman alive! i was left speechless by her unspeakable acts and behaviors along side her even dumbest mother. So frustrating. Are these people for real????
David Brent: Life on the Road (2016)
Another gem from Ricky Gervais!
Absolutely hilarious and entertaining! Words cant do justice to Ricky's brilliant mind. The whole film is a tribute to the hunt for success and stardome with a pinch of loneliness, melancholia and a bittersweet laugh. Ricky Gervais this is one of your greatest creations. I loved and enjoyed every second of it!
Made in Italy (2020)
If you love Tuscany don't let this movie ruin it.
Total disappointment. Absolute waste of time. The writer/ director seems that doesnt have the slightest clue on Italy, italian life, needless to say Tuscany. A narration with no heart nor soul, really bad acting ( bunch of english actors pretending to be Italians speaking english with full accent). So sorry for Liam Neeson that had to be part of this hideous project.
White Lines (2020)
Impossible to watch
Bad writing.
Bad acting.
Hideous cast.
Lame plot.
Simply unbearable.
What/If (2019)
Ridiculous plot twists, total flop project
Lisa's character simply unbearable and nerve wrecking. Her acting clearly ridiculous.
Such a disgrace for talented, charismatic, Renée Zellweger to be part of such a cheesy, corny, clown project.
You (2018)
The only thing bearable In this show is Penn Badgley
Ive got to admit that the story and concept is actually interesting, BUT there are a few things that really, really ruin the whole experience. In season 1, Beck's character was hideous, unbearable, nerve-wrecking to watch. The facial expressions, the dialogues the millennial bs sooooo fake and obnoxious that I literally couldnt stand it. And then came Season 2. I dont know how they do this but the series managed to create and present an even more obnoxious, loathing, terrible repulsive character- the new love interest of the main character. Seriously how do you do this? I have watched dozens of series, but this nerve-wrecking unbearable characters and their acting and lines? What a nightmare!
Really, the only thing that will get you through this show is Penn Badgley and his brilliant performance.
All the rest is simple torture.

L'amica geniale (2018)
A Rattling Masterpiece!
A breath-taking storytelling that takes you by storm.
Superb in all senses.
Jaw-dropping acting, exquisite, unprecedented cinematography and an ode to friendship and society underdogs that leaves you in awe.
Its flawless narration, turns you numb and craving for more.
Unfortunately I have not read the books yet, but the series is absolutely sensational. Sorrentino turns everything into motion poetry. A perfect Ten!
Joker (2019)
Cinematic Perfection.
This is not your ordinary great movie. This is legendary cinematography, acting, direction, narration, art direction, costumes, score, from beginning to end. This is perfection serendipity that comes together when all magic is aligned in the universe. Joaquin Phoenix gives a mesmerizing breath-taking performance that may still haunt you after you leave the theater. His acting is totally flawless in every second of his presence, you are drawn to his character, relating to his world, falling for him, his villain yet deeply angelic psyche. As a character he is unmatched, as an actor he just redefined acting.
Ricky Gervais: Humanity (2018)
Probably the best stand up show I have ever watched.
He is one of my favorite comedians of all times. This show was beyond comedy. Beyond punch lines and humor. The way he presented his view on various serious or not subjects of life, Ricky performed an out of this world stand up comedy with a unique brilliance and witty flow during the whole show. There wasnt a single dull moment or boring segment. This was a roller coaster of humor full of ecstatic moments that you simple cant get over. He is a true genius and probably a bit underrated artist in my opinion. He described in simple words and flawless humor what this confusing world and people are all about. The segment on kids was so well put and so profoundly hilarious. His honest and remarkable activism against animal cruelty surpasses any pretentious animal welfare organization all over the world. I cant wait for "Humanity's" part two or else...I'll be offended. :-)
p.s. He is for me the best awards show host by far. Please book him for the next Oscars or Emmys or Golden Globes ASAP!
Ricky you are on of a kind.
