Linda veut du poulet ! (2023)
A lovely, loving film.
As usual #Locarno76 you have no idea what you are going to see, but you DO know it is going to be good. We were not disappointed. Writing this the morning after there is a LOT to this film. Love, loss, struggling with daily life, keeping your promises and lots more. All stemming from that one dish of chicken with peppers...
Amazing what can be portrayed in terms of emotions and feelings from what look like 'simple' graphics. Possibly simple because it is seen from the eyes of the daughter, Linda.
Some very tense moments interspersed with comic relief. I absolutely loved the cat and his antics. The relationship between the two sisters was also a very noteworthy one as well as the friendship between the children.
A lovely animation that can be enjoyed on very many different levels. Last night the children were laughing and so were the adults, but at different things. A must see.

What's with the bad reviews?
First time I've ever come out of a Bond film feeling miserable. But hey, that's the way this cookie crumbles. A very enjoyable film, sure not the classic Bond, but if I want a classic Bond I'll watch a classic episode.
Love the action scenes. And I really like the carrying forward of Magdalene's character. Makes me want to watch all her films again to understand the progression. Definitely a film to watch.
Welp (2014)
What a pile of rubbish
How on earth did this film make it to my TV?
First off no cub scouts on earth would behave the way this lot did. Makes the film virtually unwatchable. The horror elements are pretty weird... I'll give it that. Suggest you watch the news instead. It's usually better viewing than this.
Ida Red (2021)
A fascinating insight into low level USA
Saw it at the World Premiere at the Locarno Film Festival. A gripping story with very unpleasant characters portrayed really well. Shows you the America that is rarely shown. I will definitely be going to see it again when it hits the cinemas in my country.
Fahim (2019)
A delightful watch
A very enjoyable film to watch. The fact that it is a true story makes it all the more powerful. Certainly makes one think about nationality and people's rights
Persischstunden (2020)
A great story, but is it based on true facts?
Really 'enjoyed' the film. I found it absolutely gripping wondering how the prisoner would survive. I cannot find evidence as claimed that it was based on a true story which annoys me. It does not impact the power of the film though as eventually you get carried away. One not to be missed.
