JFK: One Day in America (2023)
No real interview with Paul Landis about his book?
Secret Service Agent Paul Landis appears in this documentary yet there is no retelling by him of what he recently revealed in his book about finding a bullet in the Presidential Limousine at Parkland Hospital and what he placed it on President Kennedy's hospital bed, a secret which he kept for 60 years??
This is just another BS example of the dying Legacy Media perpetuated upon the public that the Patsy LHO was a lunatic and mobster Ruby killed him out of grief...
Prayer Man by Bart Kamp is a new book out recently that's also available on YouTube for comparison along with 60 years of Beyond A Reasonable Doubt of unanswered questions, cover ups and lies. The Lone Gunman is a great podcast as well.
I'm not sure what RFK Jr would be like as a President but at least he would reveal whatever he could about this and his father's assassination.
History's Greatest Mysteries: The Assassination of JFK (2023)
Main Stream Media lies
Typical misinformation and disinformation. Check out the podcast The Lone Gunman who is hosted by the legendary JFK Assassination researcher Rob Clark who has a recent (April of 2023) episode in which he plays the episode (audio only) and points out how the main stream media has been falsely reporting on the JFK Assassination for 60 years with the typical false narrative that the events so easily point to the conviction of LHO although a majority of Americans don't believe LHO acted alone or was anything other than the patsy he claimed he was.
If one takes the time to read a few books and watch a few documentaries, with a variety of conclusions, then it is so obvious that the truth has been covered up and the American public has been lied to by the media for 60 years.
The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey (2022)
Pretty good but too long and too many flaws
Samuel Jackson is great and it's good series with some interesting aspects but 6 hours is way too long.
But the biggest flaw is the obvious unbelievable parts.
Robyn meets with the judge but without her lawyer?
Obvious self defense on audio but Ptolemy.goes to jail?
They go to where Reggie was shot and just happen to talk to a junkie couple immediately who witnessed his shooting?
And this was the first people he asked about it and they give it up after a drink?
Yeah, right...and there are many others.
This is important to the quality of a movie or it's not as good as it could or should be.
Worth a watch and although there are some flaws, Samuel Jackson is fantastic and the characters are pretty well developed.
Hemingway's Adventures of a Young Man (1962)
I LOVE Hemingway but this is awful
This is a Hollywood Bowl of Cr*p served up in 1962 before the Old Era of Movies were being kicked out. The guy who played Nick was overacting for two plus hours.
Anyone familiar with EH will recognize the story but I can't believe how horrible this was. I fast forwarded through just to see it.
The Only Living Boy in New York (2017)
Would be better but the Thomas character was awful
Anything with Daniels and Beckinsale is worth a watch but something about the guy who is playing Thomas.
The part itself was written to be a guy without real depth, unbelievable cynicism and lacking in the most important element of a story, I disliked him and didn't pull for him to succeed.
That's possible with a spoiled brat from NYC who is rebellious, lost and wants his father's attention but not here.
That doesn't work for a story with a hero and I think I will turn this off or fast forward and maybe stop a few times to listen to Jeff's advice or see Kate's smile...
The Many Saints of Newark (2021)
Should have expected it would be this bad.
Some great actors were cast but that's it. Even a few of them looked like amateurs because the script was so bad. Even if America wasn't jacked to see this and the overwhelming disappointment, this movie would still stink.
If David Chase actually tried to make a quality film then he should get his head examined. The script, which was so great in the HBO series, was the absolute worst and seemed like it was written in an afternoon by a Jersey Tollbooth Operator during his lunch break.
This series, that was not just groundbreaking and kicked off the new type of TV which brought us Breaking Bad, The Wire and many others, but was a work of art and should have been left alone...
The Legend of Swee' Pea (2015)
Great doc especially for basketball junkies
I knew of Lloyd Daniels when I was younger and he was a mythological streetball legend from NYC like The Goat and others.
I never heard what happened to him after San Antonio and this documentary gets into his biography and shows him coaching kids now and details the struggles and achievements of his life.
But my favorite aspect of this was getting to know Daniels as a person. He grew up in an extremely difficult situation and had tremendous obstacles to overcome off the court.
I came to really like Lloyd as a man who is extremely honest, personable, funny and a caring friend although, as he will fully admit, he made major mistakes.
Unfortunately, these derailed a career which had he not faced basically raising himself as both parents were gone and living in a dangerous neighborhood, his name would ring out like Magic and others because his talents were that great.
The director and editor did a very good job allowing us to know Lloyd well enough in 90 minutes to come away thinking he's a good guy and feel hopeful that the rest of his life he'll continue on the road to making peace with himself.
JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass (2021)
Stone deserves tremendous credit. Great documentary.
Unless you still think the media is on the level, then your eyes are wide enough to know it's a card trick they've been playing for years to deceive the public. And the Assassination of JFK is exhibit 1.
For 64 years they've pushed the government's ludicrous story of the BS Warren Commission and jokes of human beings they prop up like Posner who support that idiotic story.
The truth is we don't know exactly what happened but anyone who has taken the time to investigate it well enough, especially with documents and interviews online, they'll see too many questions unanswered or lied about to know LHO certainly had intelligence connections and we'll very likely never know who pulled the trigger.
Whether you like JFK or not, the assassination led to many of the problems we face today and needs to be answered. Oliver Stone deserves tremendous credit for keeping these questions in the public eye.
God Bless America...
Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021)
LeChina Flop Crybaby Overrated Player Sux and so does this flop of a movie
3.6/10 because it stinks. Michael Jordan is the greatest and this biatch who needs Wade, Irving or Davis to win a title and isn't really that good and is surrounded by cops when he's in public yet claims he and other black peoples are being hunted everyday shows he's ignorant and probably should have gone to college to get an education because he's stupid and that's why when he's photographed reading a book it's always on page one because he doesn't really read. He's the worst thing to happen to basketball and sports in American history. He should play in the Chinese Basketball League...
Judas and the Black Messiah (2021)
Disappointment & Missed Opportunity
Fred Hampton is one of the most fascinating people from the 60s although not as well known as he should be.
I was looking forward to watching this film biography of Hampton but this was a tremendous disappointment.
There's are some documentaries on Hampton that will educate anyone on his life which this movie failed to do.
If you have critical thinking skills about movies then you'll recognize all of the typical mistakes so many directors make.
The worst aspect was it was slow and boring with inserted scenes of intensity that is a trick drive-in movies used to use.
When I saw it was produced by that idiot Bron who is semi-literate and who has shown his ignorance many times, I should have known it would be junk.
Ever wonder why LeBron is always photographed reading the first few pages of a book? And when asked about X's autobiography he was reading, he said nothing of substance...hmmmm.
Great soundtrack, with a few great actors despite a horrible script, but it has an agenda that's shallow and will be forgotten.
Compare this to Malcolm X and it's why it'll be forgotten.
The Little Things (2021)
Love Denzel but he often picks crappy movies.
One of movies best actors but I wonder why he chooses to be in so many movies which are average or awful. This is a thin, lacking movie which tried too hard. Roman whatever stunk. Many others.
Hurricane and American Gangster deliberately ignored major aspects of each of those guy's biographies resulting in a tainted depiction meaning lies. His portrayal was great.
Equalizer is just ok. As were Pelham, Safe House, 2 Guns, Man on Fire, most of these movies would've been garbage without his immense talents. I believe he just doesn't demand or request better scripts or directors. Or something else I'm not aware of. Look at his career biography and see if I have a point.
Malcolm X, A Soldier's Story, Fences, Mo Better Blues and others are great and better because of him.
Of course it isn't an attack on him personally, I'll never meet him but I'm sure he's an outstanding gentleman, but have wondered this for years.
There are a few other of the best actors I feel the same way about. And some stars or character actors who turn up again and again in the best movies. Steve Buscemi Emmet Walsh come to mind.
Too bad I can't read replies but because regular civility isn't part of internet dialogue we'll have to keep our opinions on this to ourselves.
Boiling Point (2021)
One sided documentary
Want to watch an intelligent documentary on Ferguson then check out "What Killed Michael Brown?"
Why didn't this mention any White, Latino, Asian or particularly Native Americans who are killed by the cops at a higher rate than Black people?
How many people can name anyone who isn't Black who was killed by the police? Anyone know Tony Timpa who was killed by Dallas PD like Floyd but the media ignores? There are many others.
Seems like documentaries like this push a Marxist message, particularly the tearing down of the American system, and reparations for slavery which has been stated to be $14 Trillion.
Good luck with getting that money.
Truth Is the Only Client: The Official Investigation of the Murder of John F. Kennedy (2019)
BS Propaganda made by Idiots
Nice try suckers, we can see through your lies. One example how they try to tell their lies.
Why didn't they include the fact that Richard Russell and others on the Warren Commission stated publicly they did NOT agree with the conclusions of the WC.
Even LBJ is on record saying the same thing, at least twice: once on the phone and the guy who he was talking to (maybe Russell) and another in video talking with W. Cronkite which he asked to not be shown until after he died.
So many intelligent and true investigations into JFKA that often conclude the full story isn't known because all of the files haven't been released and some have been deliberately destroyed over the years.
If you're a brain dead sheeple type you'll love this garbage; if you know it's stupid turn it's quite a laugh.
The Bystander Theory (2013)
Only watch this if you are a JFK Assassination Student
Horrible movie that gets 3 stars only because I love JFK. Nice try but just falls because the script is awful and obviously the budget was cheap and other flaws.
JFK: The Smoking Gun (2013)
The Conclusion is Ridiculous
I have watched everything available on film ever made about the JFK Assassination and his conclusion that a Secret Service Agent accidentally whacked JFK with the famous fatal head shot is pathetic.
It's just part of the campaign to coverup what a lie CE399 is as the Internet has allowed more people to realize what a joke that is along with so many other things.
Sprinkle in an Aussie detective with the Crocodile Dundee accent, with a simplistic recreations of the events, and their best method - deliberately ignoring important contrary evidence - and it's another attempt to avoid a reopening of the Murder of JFK and releasing of ALL files and subpoena power to find out what really happened.
The most intelligent researchers haven't reached a conclusion. Not possible without that.
This gets 3 because it addresses the ballistics and other areas in at least but the conclusion is laughable.
American Experience: Roads to Memphis (2010)
Disinformation Campaign
If anyone has researched the Assassination of MLK on their own, they know it's complicated and JER may have been involved, most likely unknowingly, but certainly like LHO & Sirhan, was not a "Lone Nut Assassin" as has been pushed by the MSM since 1963.
Just look up the video online of what Dan Rather reported after viewing the Zapruder Film (which wasn't seen by the public until 1975) and you'll see he said JFK's head moved "Violently Forward" after the fatal head shot - then watch the footage for yourself and you'll see he lied and his career was launched from that point.
Dan Rather has been part of this and other for generations and labeling anyone who disagrees with the government conclusions are "Conspiracy Theoriest" and other names rather than allowing for an intelligent investigation on issues the American public has continually stated they don't believe the "Official Story" as high as 90% in some cases.
PBS has been decimated over the years until they are now a liberal or progressive propaganda force putting out this type of garbage on JFK, MLK, RFK and other controversial events in a simplistic view rather than the complex way they are.
Anyone who believes JER was stalking King to assassinate him should look deeper into this case. JER was a small time crook then like LHO & Sirhan became a Patsy.
Oswald (2012)
Garbage
Whomever cams up with the idea for this pathetic portrayal of Oswald knows nothing about him and is just ignorant or was paid to make more garbage trying to portray Oswald as the lone but rather than deal with the mountains of evidence of JFKs Assassination in an intelligent way.
Anyone involved with this movie should be ashamed of themselves..would give it Zero stars because One is too high.
The Private Life of a Modern Woman (2017)
Pretentious crap but Sienna...
Is worth 3 stars and Baldwin another but fast forward through the rest.
Frequency (2000)
Great premise but...
Great premise but could've been much better. Worth a watch but felt like a TV show instead of a movie.
After the Wedding (2019)
Turned it off once I realized it was a Danish copy.
Williams & Crudup made me tune in but it felt like such an unintelligent and underhanded attack on NYC wealthy white people.
Plus they casted a daughter who looks like she's from NYC but definitely not the offspring of those parents.
Doesn't Hollywood have enough original screenwriters to do anything other than copy Danish, Spanish, German, Korean and other great movies and act like it's an original film?
Papa, the Man, the Myth, the Legend (2016)
Fantastic - a filmed theatre performance.
If one is interested in Hemingway at all, you'll love this. It's a one man performance of Hemingway's life and a one woman who plays different women of his life.
The description written for this IMDB makes it seem like a documentary which it is not.
Da 5 Bloods (2020)
Spike Lee isn't a historian
He's made a few great movies (X & DTRT) and a few pretty good but this is awful. The only thing that saved him was the great actors in the film. The script was just weak and narrow, predictable characters in a lame plot.
If this "Soul Brother" was so "down" with Malcolm X, as Lee should have known, then he would have never gone to war for the US in the first place.
If he wanted to teach about black Americans military history then make a documentary like Oliver Stone did and just stick to the film.
But mostly it's the continuous agenda Lee has and his stereotypical characters in his movies time and time again, saved by all the great actors he gets. In conclusion, he's still a midget.
Blue Jay (2016)
Horrible attempt at a deep dialogue movie
This could have been a great movie just because the idea is simple that we all can relate to and B&W was a nice touch.
Plus we need more movies that aren't comics, shootouts and overall garbage mostly made for teenagers and China.
But from the first scene it's awful and mostly because of the guy. I don't know anyone who would act like this because they don't exist...
Could he have been a bigger dork? And jerk?
Nervous in his 40s to talk with an ex-girlfriend?
But without a script and the actors (again, specifically the guy) able to pull this off, it's basically like watching someone else's home videos. Plug in a witty and talented actor (probably the director needs changing too) and this could be an intelligent and deep movie we'd love.
I read there was no script but that's no excuse. Even Curb Your Enthusiasm, which is all improvised, has some structure.
I'm about halfway through and feel like throwing up. If it improves I'll change this but I can't see that happening.
American Experience: George W. Bush: Part 1 (2020)
PBS Whitewash of a Horrible President
If anyone thinks PBS is a Stalinist creation then watch this garbage. Fox News couldn't make a better puff piece on a pathetic joke of a man.
FYI-I don't like Reps or Dems.
This is a new low in propaganda. Bush Jr was not intelligent nor hard-working and an obvious puppet who was hated by millions. And his handling of major issues demonstrated this repeatedly. A biography of Clinton would probably be done the same way by them.
PBS like all media outlets in America in comparison to intelligent and independent options available to us online is just worthless.
Jane Fonda in Five Acts (2018)
Interesting Biatch...
What a self-absorbed woman who is more full of herself than Oprah. Call it contradictions but she lacks humility, class and a true ability to realize she ain't all that but born into fame and loved it so much whether she was a pseudo anything - activist or rich broad.
Phony woman who did live an interesting life but like so many famous people think they're more important and interesting than they are.
