Rock'n Roll (2017)
The trailer got me
The trailer was fun and engaging, I was really keen to see this film. It started well, there was a good and fun concept behind it, the actors were great (and French royalty!).
And then, it went to "n'importe quoi" (rubbish). I'm not sure where the direction or moral the story was trying to go, but it became hard to watch. I expected a good laugh, an enjoyable movie, and instead it disappointed me. A shame.
SeaChange (1998)
Season 4
I didn't realise this wasn't the first season!
What a great feel-good, quirky and fun series. The location is great and unique. The characters likeable and each with their pinch of humour and little crazy. They face challenges and we vouch for them and their little village. The ambiance is heart-warming, and I loved the radio intros and outros.
Just watch and you'll feel happy and fluffy inside.
Le grand bain (2018)
Great story about male friendships and life
A great cast with many of France's beloved actors. I would call this film is a low-key comedy (as in not the dumb-dumb stuff we sometimes see) tangled with real life drama. It's a pleasure to watch as we delve into each character's life, where is more than meets the eye. It's well acted, well directed, and overall makes for good viewing. Rather on the feel-good side of things - it's mostly believable, and when not, remember it's a comedy ;)
La grande boucle (2013)
Feel good movie in the spirit of the Tour
An entertaining film, ideal for the whole family. The story is romanticised and we take it as such, a lovely journey with some challenges which the hero tackles one after the other, with the support of his friends and family. It is a delight to see some emblematic names of the world of French sports in the cast.
Transferts (2017)
Hooked from the beginning to to end
An excellent series which will surprise you and make you think (of ethics, religions, love, metaphysics, etc).
Well-written script, high level direction, and top level acting, this is GOLD. Pili Groyne is particularly fascinating in her role. I loved the show and was very moved by the characters' arcs and the world they live in.
Waiting for Season 2!
