Dead Asleep (2021)
Great True Crime Documentary
Ignore the bad reviews. If you love true crime & documentary-style shows, you'll love this. I had never heard of this case before, which is rare, because I'm a true crime fanatic.
This documentary is well put together, with interviews from the perpetrator, his family, police and friends. I would have enjoyed hearing more of Brooke's side, but we get to draw out own conclusions. Definitely check this one out!
Disaster Movie (2008)
Unfair rating
This movie is campy and fun. I was shocked to see a 1.9 rating. It's not meant to be an Emmy winner; you guys clearly don't get it. (facepalm)
Come and Find Me (2016)
So Forgettable
I came across this movie recently on Netflix. The plot is right up my alley and I LOVE Aaron Paul....
I didn't even realize I had seen this movie previously, until ten minutes in. Yes, it is THAT forgettable folks.
Skip!
The Cabin (2018)
Sometimes You SHOULD believe the rating....
I should've known better. The 3.0 star rating, the title screen showing, "A Night In The Cabin", when the movie title was shown as, "The Cabin". First scene, I should've known then...the guy gets ready for bed, but stops to light long tapered candles on his organ, and proceeeds to play scary organ/church/horror movie music. REALLY??? I guess it was gross curiosity that made me watch 30 more minutes -- plz don't waste your time!! It's not one of those films that SOME ppl will claim to like. Won't happen. Sometimes you SHOULD believe the rating...
Even Lambs Have Teeth (2015)
Not Quite The Advice I Would Give..
Having a 17 year-old daughter, my advice to her would NOT be, once you get free - drive straight to the hardware store, buy all the torture devices you can, and drive BACK into harms way. This IS a good flick, but there are no REALISTIC tones, whatsoever. You take that stolen car and you drive STRAIGHT to a hospital or police station (outside of that forsaken town). So that pushed this movie over the edge for me. I do know that sex trafficking is real, don't get me wrong. But the whole way this happened - nah. Didn't buy it. Sex traffickers don't like to prey on the girls w police/FBI parents. Usually runaways and the such. Not always, But usually.
Yep. So they lost me there. They were home free, but did NOT seek help. Two 100lb girls who just endured what they did....they forego the police and/or 911. SO. BEYOND. BELIEVABLE.
The Ninth Passenger (2018)
IGNORE THE LOW RATINGS
You could do A LOT worse, like say - 80% of the thriller/horror movies on Netflix.
I found this for FREE on Tubi. Sounded cool & different, and I was almost put off by the 3.1 rating......So glad I made up my own mind.
It's NOT low-Budget, it has twists, turns, and is exactly what you might be lookin' for.
I watch a crazy amount of movies - of all genre's, etc. Watch this one, you won't be whining and giving it a 1 star rating; unless you are expecting something that'll go down in history. Super fun, NOT slow-paced, just go for it. Oh, and Jesse Metcalfe - come to Mama!!
The Wrong Babysitter (2017)
Ignore The Low Rating!!!
Obviously this isn't up for any Oscar awards.
It's similar to a Lifetime movie, if you enjoy those. The acting is just fine. apparently those reviewers haven't seen any true amateur movies. This is not one of those. These kind of movies are great for when you want something light, but still interesting enough. Perfect for a lazy Saturday afternoon :)
Nothing But Trouble (1991)
A Very Underrated Must-See
I've been in love with this movie since my tweens. I recently found it for free on Vudu, and it made my YEAR! I had actually purchased it on DVD years ago, but lost it. This is one of the most underrated 90's comedy. Easily in my top 10 movies.
This movie is truly unlike any other - maybe that's what I love about it. I was shocked to see a 4.9 rating. It has an all-star cast (Demi Moore, Dan Akroyd, Chevy Chase, John Candy, there's even a cameo by a teenage Tupac & Digital Underground).
The judge is SO creepy, the "funhouse" and Bonestripper...I can literally say that I enjoy each and every scene in this movie, and know it word-for-word. If you have the chance to see this movie, don't pass it up! 10/10.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019)
Long-Awaited & Worth It!!
Had this release in my calendar since Dec 18'. I know just about everything there is to know about the Ted Bundy case. Therefore, the movie was easy for me to follow, even though it does flash back between his courtroom situation and real life events. I would recommend watching "The Ted Bundy Tapes" (also on Netflix), before this movie, if you are someone who does not already know the case. The 70s rock was a great addition and many of the songs stayed in my head for the remainder of the day. Zac Efron played Ted seamlessly. I have only seen Zac play heartthrob/frat-bro roles, so this was a fantastic role for him to expand his talent. His piercing blue eyes reminded me of the real Ted, especially in his jailhouse interviews. 7 out of 10. Was hoping for 10/10, but no matter what, I'm never a fan of flashbacks. Definitely still worth a watch!
My Little Sister (2016)
Fun Little Slasher
Are some of these reviewers honestly complaining that the Bad Guy "walks" and yet, "is everywhere"? Uh, hello, welcome to Horror movies. You suspend belief. It's called watching a MOVIE.
April Fool's Day (2008)
I Bought This Movie
I was really surprised to see such a low rating for this. I actually own this movie, and although it's not Oscar-worthy, to me it's one of those B-movies that you never get sick of watching. Yes, the acting is a bit silly at times - but the cast of characters and the set are beautifully done. Definitely worth a watch if you're looking to be entertained for 90 min.
Growing Up Chrisley (2019)
Cringe!
I cannot believe this show made it on the air. You would think that after SIX embarrassing seasons of Chrisley Knows Best, they could speak without it sounding *directly off a cue card*. I am 300% ready for a new reality-show family, but THIS family is not it! "I'm not gonna lie", this whole family is painful to watch! I can't imagine the torment the younger son must endure. And the 23 year old MALE that calls his father, "Daddy"?
Ratter (2015)
Listen Up..
This movie is garbage. A young girl, probably 18 or so, moves into a ridiculous apartment in NYC. Clearly 6-8k month, so suspend your disbelief *eyeroll*. The entire movie is on a webcam/phone. It skips on purpose, and freezes ON PURPOSE. You will be very disappointed. I cannot stress that enough.
Wolf Creek (2005)
TOP 5 FAVORITE MOVIES EVER
Wolf Creek is a movie I came across Only a few years ago. I saw it was rated as one of the Top 25 Scariest Movies Ever. It sure is! I bought the DVD, and when I lost it - I went out and bought a new one. THAT is how good this flick is. 9/10, you won't be disappointed.
Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006)
GREAT MOVIE!
The person who left a review claiming that all of the high scores must be being made by people connected to the film needs to get their head checked. I just spent my morning trying to find this gem. I saw it on Shudder when they first released it, and I loved it!!
It's part comedy, part documentary/mockunentry and of course, part SLASHER. I love the different feel to this movie and the main character is quite sexy!
