The Swindle (1955)
7/10
Fellini film

Augusto, Carlo, and Roberto are a con-artist team. They con poor farmers dressed as church holy men. Iris is Carlo's faithful wife, but she doesn't know his real work. Augusto reconnects with his estranged daughter Patrizia who influences him.

It's a lesser known film in director Federico Fellini's catalogue. I don't like these characters for the most part. It's a character study of these small time criminals. I dislike them mostly for their victims. Nevertheless, it's interesting to watch their journey. I get a sense that cinephiles are trying to get their bones by proclaiming that this is Fellini's best movie. I wouldn't go that far.
