There are some who will not find all of it pleasing

It looked, at first, as though this was going to be a comedy, and the first scene promised a very well-acted one; but it developed into an escapade drama. This escapade was not pleasing in itself; was such as only a very fast set would allow itself. If the picture's object had been to give scenes typical of such a social set, it would have been all right, but the real object was to develop a comic situation for the sake merely of the human values in it. The result can hardly be whole-heartedly commended. Mrs. Early always took her own time and was always late. Her husband could stand it no longer. That night he tore up the theater tickets and went away to the club. She came down, found him gone and the scraps of the tickets on the floor, so wrote to an old flame of hers asking him to take her to dinner, Her letter smacked of the demimonde. The husband also chanced to take a girl to the same restaurant that his wife and her friend chose. His wife saw him, got jealous and made a scene. Later, she promised to be early thenceforth. There is comedy in it. but it isn't all comedy and there are some who will not find all of it pleasing. - The Moving Picture World, December 9, 1911
