Stand-up comedian / actor Bill Burr just made his feature directorial debut with the Netflix-released comedy Old Dads (you can read the JoBlo review at This Link), which is cool and all… but here on Arrow in the Head, the horror side of the JoBlo Network, we’re more interested in hearing Burr’s opinions on horror films. That’s why it caught our attention when YouTuber James Whale Bake Sale made a video to go with a clip from Burr’s podcast Monday Morning Podcast in which the comedian discusses the horror classic Friday the 13th – and goes on to explain why he stopped watching horror movies.
The video can be seen at the bottom of this article, and over the course of its five minutes he admits that the final jump scare in Friday the 13th really did scare the hell out of him, says that the franchise...

In Sean S. Cunningham's 1980 slasher flick "Friday the 13th," Kevin Bacon plays a camp counselor named Jack who meets a memorable end. Jack and his girlfriend Marcie (Jeannine Taylor) enjoy a zesty round of marijuana and coitus while, unbeknownst to them, the corpse of their friend Ned (Mark Nelson) is stored in the ceiling above them. Marcie leaves to take a shower, and Jack lays back on the bed to relax and have a toke. A drop of blood lands on his brow. Jack is momentarily confused. His confusion doesn't last long, however, as the hand of a mysterious killer -- possibly the presumed-dead Jason Voorhees -- pops up from under the bed and grabs him by the forehead. An arrow pushes up from underneath the bed, puncturing Jack's neck from behind. The arrowhead emerges from his throat, and blood spurts up onto his face. Jack dies wearing a startled expression.

Three years ago, Paramount Pictures gave the 1980 classic Friday the 13th (watch it Here) a Blu-ray steelbook release to celebrate the film’s 40th anniversary. Now the folks at Fridaythe13thFranchise have caught word that Paramount is set to give the film a 4K steelbook release on October 10th – three days before an actual Friday the 13th rolls around on the calendar. They even got their hands on a picture of the 4K steelbook, and you can check it out at the bottom of this article.
It looks like this steelbook will be using the same artwork as the Blu-ray steelbook, but it will also come with a slipcover featuring artwork that was used for Waxwork Records’ vinyl release of the film’s score.

As most diehard fans know, the original Friday the 13th was filmed at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco, an active Boy Scouts camp in Hardwick, New Jersey. Unfortunately, the campgrounds are off limits to the public, meaning you can’t actually visit the filming locations outside of rare special events that the camp offers. And that’s where Crystal Lake Tours comes into play.
For the last few years, Friday the 13th fans have been offered the opportunity to tour the real-life Crystal Lake, and a special event this June will take that experience to the next level.
The team announces, “We made history in 2019 with the largest gathering of cast and crew from Friday the 13th since the movie was released. It was an amazing event and the fans that travelled to the camp from all over the world still rave about it. We had plans for an even larger reunion in...

A new episode of The Manson Brothers Show, which is hosted by the writers/stars of the horror comedy The Manson Brothers Midnight Zombie Massacre – Chris Margetis (Stone Manson) and Mike Carey (Skull Manson) – has just been released, and in this one the boys head out to Camp Crystal Lake for a viewing of the 1980 classic Friday the 13th (watch it Here)! Directed by Sean S. Sean S. Cunningham directs this legendary Friday 13, the first of an endless saga of terror films that gave rise to one of the bloodiests baddies in the history of movies: Jason Voorhees
Friday 13 was the second slasher in the history of movies which for many might not seem to be much, but for fans of horror films, this was a revelation and for producers a product with great rentability.

It’s fair to say that a lot of people won’t recognize the name Robbi Morgan since she did kind of come into the business and then drift away for a good while. One can easily think that she was raising her kids with her husband and wanted to spend more time with her family, which is understandable since anyone with kids knows that it’s a full-time job. But apart from doing whatever else has kept her busy for this long, she has had a kind of sparse history in show business that has seen a couple of roles, one that

As iconic as Jason Voorhees, the music of the Friday the 13th franchise is synonymous with the killer Crystal Lake films that chilled and thrilled horror fans throughout the 1980s (and beyond). With the sounds of Jason ingrained in ’80s culture, it's only fitting that the music of the Friday the 13th franchise gets its time to shine in the blood-spattered spotlight of the upcoming ’80s documentary In Search of Darkness. After recently sharing a clip of Keith David discussing John Carpenter's The Thing, we've now been provided with an exclusive In Search of Darkness interview clip in which Sean S. There’s no denying that the 1980s were easily the most influential era in modern horror, between all of the incredible movies and filmmakers that rose through the ranks and changed the landscape of pop culture, the mind-blowing special effects that continued to raise the bar for the industry, and a cavalcade of memorable characters and performances that have continued to endear themselves to legions of fans in the years to come. Simply put, ’80s horror is the best.
Right now, the Kickstarter campaign for In Search of Darkness is nearing the finish line, with only a few days left for genre fans to join in on what is going to be the definitive look at this influential decade in horror history, and one of the latest stretch goals announced for In Search of Darkness is all about celebrating the women who slayed throughout the 1980s.

Recently I discovered two very awesome things about Boston, Ma-based metalcore unit Ice Nine Kills: first, they're all big-time horror movie fans; and second, their obsession with fearsome flicks manifests itself in a big way while the band is traveling between live gigs – and I'm not just talking about horror DVD marathons on the bus, either. While on the road, the band decided to seek out and document some of their favorite horror movie locations and hang out with the creators and stars of those films, preserving those memories in photographs for a horror-themed travel journal. The band graciously offered to share several of those photos with us, which you can only see right here. So that's enough setup... let's witness some high points in horror history, recorded for posterity by Spencer, Justin and Conor of Ice Nine Kills! Scream Above Right: Spencer with writer-director Wes Craven, taken during a...

Chicago – Every time a movie gets remade, you can expect the original to appear in some varying degree of “special” edition on the home market. A week-and-a-half from the Michael Bay produced and Marcus Nispel remake of “Friday the 13th,” Paramount has unleashed deluxe editions of the original on Blu-Ray and the first two sequels on DVD.
Blu-Ray Rating: 3.5/5.0 The funny thing about revisiting Sean Cunningham’s original slasher hit is that one is reminded of the fact that it’s really not that great a movie if you judge it outside of its influence. Cunningham was never that interesting behind the camera. The film is a slice of nostalgia that holds an important place in movie history and is a must-own for even the most casual horror fanatic, but it’s really not that well-made.
