Mister Smith Entertainment is launching international sales on the film at the Cannes Film Market with CAA Media Finance and UTA Independent Film Group co-representing North American rights.
The film, currently in pre-production, is scheduled to start principal photography this fall.
Set in December 1944 against the war-torn Belgian landscape as World War II pushes toward a brutal climax, “Perdition” follows the journey of a lone American soldier (Claflin), who miraculously survives a Pow camp execution. Steven Knight’s Peaky Blinders has captivated audiences worldwide with the tumultuous world of the Shelby family, as they navigated the treacherous landscape of gang warfare and political intrigue. Loosely based on the real-life urban youth gang of the same name, the series incorporates elements from historical figures and addresses prevalent themes such as anti-Irish sentiment.

However, amidst the compelling narrative, the show also includes characters embodying fascist and racist ideologies. Knight opened up about such a character Oswald Mosley, acknowledging the unsettling parallels between his beliefs and actions and modern sociopolitical trends.

“The Hunger Games” star Sam Claflin has boarded George C. Siougas’ short film “The One Note Man” as an executive producer.
Narrated by Ian McKellen (“Lord of the Rings”), the Christmas-set story focuses on a bassoonist wedded to his routine, which involves playing a single note each day in the orchestra he is part of before returning home. One day, after accidentally overhearing a mind-blowing violin solo the musician finds himself caught between “staying in his comfort zone or stepping out and changing his life forever.”
The film, which has qualified for Oscar submission after winning the grand prize for best live action short at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, stars Jason Watkins (“The Crown”), Louisa Clein (“Emmerdale”), Crystal Yu (“Doctor Who”), Paul Barber (“The Full Monty”).
It does not feature any dialogue, instead giving audiences an opportunity to enjoy an original score by “Shakespeare in Love” composer Stephen Warbeck.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but not everything you see in movies or television shows -- even historically-based ones -- happens to be 100% true to life. Shocking, I know. Director Christopher Nolan invented the pivotal conversation by the water between J. Robert Oppenheimer and Albert Einstein in "Oppenheimer," the racing movie "Gran Turismo" fudged some important real-life details (despite having "Based on a True Story" literally in its title!), and the acclaimed BBC show "Peaky Blinders" completely invented the character of Tommy Shelby, portrayed by actor Cillian Murphy. If this information has given anyone severe trust issues from now on, I apologize.
When it comes to the Steven Knight-created series in particular, that's not where the divergences from fact-based, historical events end. Savvy fans know that Knight and his writers pulled from all sorts of historical sources for events and especially major figures that factored into the story,...

Though you’ll undoubtedly forget many times while you’re watching it, Prime Video’s music drama Daisy Jones & The Six is not based on a true story. At least, not really. Adapted from Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel of the same name, this series about the titular band was inspired by the real life drama of classic ’70s rock group Fleetwood Mac.
While Fleetwood Mac is very much real (and great!), Daisy Jones & The Six is not real (though also great!). Still, that does not make the Behind the Music-esque drama they experience in these 10 episodes feel any less real. Contributing to that sense of verisimilitude is that the cast of Daisy Jones & The Six all fit their roles to a tee.

This article contains spoilers for the first three episodes of Daisy Jones & The Six. Details about the real life band they were inspired by may lightly spoil future events in the show.
The Prime Video series Daisy Jones & the Six is an adaptation of the 2017 book by author Taylor Jenkins Reid. The novel tells the story of a fictional 1970s California rock group who break through when a charismatic songwriting female lead vocalist grabs the mic. The identity of the group’s real-life counterpart is very thinly veiled. The tagline of the series proclaims “Their music made them famous. Their breakup made them legends.” They can’t be talking about the Beatles, who were legends before they split. Fleetwood Mac, however, sustained multiple breakups before the ensemble even thought about calling it quits.

Sam Claflin says his audition for “Daisy Jones & The Six” couldn’t have gone worse.
Speaking with Variety about the upcoming series, the actor, who plays lead singer Billy Dunne, says he landed the role despite his “terrible” song performance.
Based on the book of the same name, it follows the rise and fall of a Fleetwood Mac-like band the Six.
As Claflin was preparing for the audition, he learned he would have to a sing a ’70s rock song. The U.K. native admitted he wasn’t a big music fan and chose something from the Apple Music app.
“I went into a recording studio for the first time in my life, confronted with a microphone and people watching me in a fishbowl,” Claflin recalled. “I sang Elton John’s ‘Your Song.’ Terribly.”

Sam Claflin was preparing to audition for the role of Billy Dunne in “Daisy Jones & the Six,” the Prime Video adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s bestselling novel about a fictional 1970s rock band, he was told he’d have to sing a ’70s rock song. So he scoured the Apple Music app for a genre playlist and chose the only track he felt comfortable with.

When "Peaky Blinders" aired its final episode back in 2022, it represented the end of an era ... in more ways than one. Not only did it bring the sweeping story of Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and his fearsome gang to a stirring conclusion on the small screen, but it brought the timeline of the series ever closer to the milestone that creator Steven Knight has had his eye on for quite some time.
Having previously gone on record that he intended to end the early 1900s-set series right as the air raid sirens signaling the opening of World War II began, Knight subsequently walked those remarks back and revealed his hopes to keep the story going right through one of the most horrific conflicts the world has ever seen. For the already-traumatized Tommy, a veteran of the first World War who remains profoundly damaged by his experiences in the claustrophobic tunnels below the European battlegrounds,...

Up until its recently-completed final season, each and every installment of "Peaky Blinders" has featured a big name actor in the role of the main antagonist. While Finn Cole's Michael Gray took the centerstage in season 6, throwing the Shelby family into turmoil as he finally came to blows with his estranged cousin Tommy (Cillian Murphy) in an epic power struggle, prior seasons carefully built up each standalone threat as a new headache for Tommy and his gang of Peaky Blinders to deal with. From Sam Neill's odious Inspector Chester Campbell to Adrien Brody's Luca Changretta, the Shelbys eventually managed to take care of every major obstacle in their path -- all except for one.
Sam Claflin's Sir Oswald Mosley, based on the real-life historical figure who whipped pre-wwii Britain into a fascist frenzy, has posed the most significant challenge to Tommy's grand plans. Brought together out of mutual benefit,...

Writers know better than most how taking historical figures and dropping them into a world of fictional characters can sometimes run the risk of overwhelming the story at hand. The plot at the center of "Peaky Blinders," for instance, shares several parallels and intersections with actual historical events taking place during the time period that creator Steven Knight chose to cover -- specifically set during the moment in time between both World Wars in early 1900s Birmingham, England. While audiences have gravitated towards the drama of Tommy Shelby leading the Peaky Blinders from the local horse-racing scene in Small Heath to the seat of power at the center of the entire British empire, Knight wrote his scripts in such a way that he could easily integrate several historical figures into the action as well.

Before "Peaky Blinders" built to its thrilling climax in the final season, pitting Cillian Murphy's Tommy Shelby against his own flesh and blood Michael Gray (Finn Cole) in a power grab for the ages, the popular BBC series largely featured one primary antagonist per season -- often portrayed by established character actors or even big-name stars. Early seasons saw the street gang come up against the relentless Inspector Campbell. Soon followed Noah Taylor as mobster Darby Sabini, Paddy Considine's loathsome priest Father Hughes, Sam Claflin as fascist Oswald Mosley, and even Tom Hardy as sometimes-enemy, sometimes-ally, Alfie Solomons across the entire show's run.
"Peaky Blinders" took a turn, however, once Adrien Brody turned up in all his stereotypically New York/Italian glory as the formidable Luca Changretta in season 4. Vowing revenge on Tommy Shelby and his entire family for the brutal killing of his father, the mobster ended...

From long-lost relative and apple of Aunt Polly's (Helen McCrory) eye to sworn enemy of Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) on a relentless quest for vengeance, Finn Cole's Michael Gray was never quite the main villain of the final season of "Peaky Blinders" — that honor would undoubtedly go to Sam Claflin's fascist Sir Oswald Mosley — but he certainly posed the most immediate and personal threat to our Ptsd-ridden main "hero."

Warning: contains spoilers for the Peaky Blinders finale ‘Lock and Key’.
Towards the end of the Peaky Blinders finale, when all the ‘black cat’ traitors had been killed or ousted from the Shelby family, the gang gathered in the woods of the recently dynamited Arrow House for a farewell banquet. Exclusive: Spoiler Alert: This post contains details about the series finale of Peaky Blinders…: Peaky Blinders, the award-winning, fan-adored period gangster epic created by Steven Knight drew to a close in its TV series form on Sunday night in the UK (it debuts in the U.S. and elsewhere via Netflix on June 10). The finale, which has been unanimously praised, also leans in to the much touted movie to come, which Knight, in our discussion below, says will take place during World War II. Here’s our post-mortem on Peaky, and a look forward.
Deadline: So, let me just start with this: Thank you for not killing Tommy
Steven Knight: You can’t kill Tommy! It’s good the fact that it’s the last episode cause people think he might actually die, whereas if there’s another series… you know what I mean? So you do have that on your side.

Spoiler Alert: This post contains details about the series finale of Peaky Blinders…: Before it debuts on Netflix on June 10 in the U.S. and other markets, period gangster epic Peaky Blinders‘ sixth and final season concluded with a feature-length episode on BBC One in the UK tonight. Created by Steven Knight, who cautioned me before the finale to “expect the unexpected,” Peaky went out in top and twisty form with operatic and Godfather-esque flourishes. Since debuting in 2013, and gaining a rabid global fanbase, the Shelby family is meeting its end as a TV series, however, Knight has confirmed that a movie is going to happen — and given how the finale played out, there is still much to explore.
So, how did this iteration wrap things up for Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and the rest of the Birmingham crew? Throughout this season, we’ve been reminded of the words...

The Garrison Tavern really needs to vet its staff more closely. Back in season one, it hired a barmaid who turned out to be working undercover as a spy for Churchill and the Royal Irish Constabulary. Her name was Grace, and her threat was neutralised when she fell in love with the owner Tommy Shelby and became his wife.
The Garrison’s next spy wasn’t neutralised with a wedding, but with a gunshot to the head. That was barman Mickey Gibbs, executed by Tommy in the season five finale after Gibbs was discovered to have been taking bribes from enemies of the Peaky Blinders to inform on their plans. Gibbs was responsible for alerting mercenary Paddy Rose to the presence of Colonel Ben Younger in Small Heath, which resulted in the car bomb that killed...

Warning: this Peaky Blinders review contains spoilers.
What better tribute could Peaky Blinders pay to the character of Aunt Polly – and to the equally redoubtable Helen McCrory – than birdsong and fire and a portrait titled “Fuck Them All”? What better tribute could Peaky Blinders pay to the character of Aunt Polly – and to the equally redoubtable Helen McCrory – than birdsong and fire and a portrait titled “Fuck Them All”? Warning: contains major season five spoilers.
The very first image you see in Peaky Blinders season five is a lone green weed growing in a field of mud. In most dramas, that’d be a symbol of rebirth and recovery – a representation, say, of Tommy Shelby’s gradually returning conscience years after war blasted it to pieces. Peaky Blinders though, isn’t most dramas, and in the season finale, the symbol is revealed to have darker meaning. Identifying with Tommy Shelby as a fellow WWI soldier, Winston Churchill says that whenever he hears British Union of Fascists leader Oswald Mosley MP speak, he can see “the green shoots of another war growing up around his feet.” That would make the lone green weed fascism – a regrowth yes, but of violence and not hope. Season five shows Tommy’s attempt to pull that weed up by its roots, and how deeply...

Sophie Rundle’s favourite line from any role in her career so far came in Peaky Blinders’ first season. Playing Ada, the younger sister of 1920s gangster-bookmakers Tommy, Arthur and John Shelby, she had a scene sitting in the Penny Crush cinema, watching a Rudolph Valentino film. Cillian Murphy as Tommy entered, cleared the place, and demanded to know the name of the man who’d made her pregnant. After he left, Ada sat alone in the theatre and yelled at the projectionist “Oy! I’m a Shelby too, you know. Put my fucking film back on!”
It’s Ada’s iconic line, says Rundle – outrageous and funny and the first in a series of excellent threats she issues in Peaky Blinders. Another comes in season four when she terrifies a pub landlord who initially mistakes her for just another unaccompanied woman, and who fails to provide ice for her whiskey.

The enemies made by Tommy Shelby over more than a decade of criminal ascent could fill St. Andrew’s Stadium, but in season six one looms larger than the rest. “In this series, his enemy is himself,” writer Steven Knight tells Den of Geek. The fabled man that Tommy can’t defeat, as mooted in the season five finale? It’s him. “Tommy Shelby is what scares Tommy Shelby,” says Knight. That’s who the character was facing down when he held a gun to his head in last season’s closing moments, which is exactly where the next episode finds him. And it isn’t the first time Tommy has pulled that move.
“In my mind, before the series began he was going to shoot himself and then thought to himself – and the quote in my mind is the Francis Bacon quote, which is “Since it’s all so meaningless,...

Warning: contains Peaky Blinders Series 5 spoilers.
Since Peaky Blinders broke through on Netflix in the US, its creators have dropped hints about the Hollywood superstars lobbying for roles in the Birmingham-based gangster drama. Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Snoop Dogg, Samuel L. Jackson and more are all fans of the show, and apparently keen to come aboard. Those names don’t appear among the series six cast announced below (though who knows about the planned follow-up feature film), but it’s obvious that Peaky Blinders has no trouble attracting serious talent. Series six welcomes acclaimed This is England, Boardwalk Empire, The Virtues and Line of Duty‘s Stephen Graham, and welcomes back Tom Hardy once again as the apparently unkillable Alfie Solomons. Both will appear in Peaky Blinders’ final TV series, alongside one of the finest British regular casts around. We’ll update this list as more details are confirmed.

Almost a year after the BBC announced that Season 6 of “Peaky Blinders” would be the series’ last, the network has released a trailer for the final batch of episodes.
Joining star Cillian Murphy for the final season are Tom Hardy, Paul Anderson, Finn Cole, Anya Taylor-Joy, Sophie Rundle, and Stephen Graham. Helen McCrory, who co-starred as Polly, died in April 2021. No word on whether she or the character will be featured in Season 6. Watch the trailer for the upcoming season in the video below.
The show, created by Oscar-nominated director Steven Knight, tells the story of Tommy Shelby (Murphy) and his family’s rise to power throughout the city of Birmingham’s working-class post-World War I. But Season 6 takes its characters firmly into the mouth of World War II, with glimpses of both a Nazi and an Oswald Mosley Blackshirts rally, as well as much drama, intrigue, and gunfire as fans have come to expect.

To celebrate the release of Michael Shevloff’s documentary, Mosley: It’s Complicated, Miracle Comms are delighted to offer three copies of the DVD to giveaway.
Mosley: It’s Complicated is a no-holds-barred study of one of the most successful yet controversial figures in motorsport, Max Mosley. Born under the dark shadow of his infamous fascist father Oswald Mosley, Max has fought his entire life to make his own mark. First in the 1970s as the owner of March, the upstart underdog Formula One race-winning team, then with friend and fellow team owner Bernie Ecclestone, Mosley wrestled control of Formula One from the Fia leading to F1’s most lucrative and popular heyday. Mosley himself went on to preside over the Fia striving to improve driver safety following the deaths of Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna in one weekend in 1994.

There are many questions you could put to Oswald Mosley’s son Max, who ran Formula One before doing battle with the Daily Mail. But they’re not asked here
“Complicated” feels like an understatement when describing Max Mosley. Growing up as the son of the fascist politician Oswald Mosley, he was used to being pilloried – and in his adult life relished being under attack. So, when the News of the World came after him in 2008 with a front-page exposé of his “depraved Nazi orgy” with prostitutes, Mosley did not slink away in shame. He sued.
The trouble with the unprobing approach in this film is that it never really pushes Mosley – interviewed before his death this year – or gets under his skin in ways that could be interesting. The result is that the film feels more like an authorised biography than a documentary, and for that reason it’s a little dull.

Oscar and BAFTA-nominated writer Steven Knight (“Dirty Pretty Things”) is a busy man these days. Production on the sixth season of his hit series “Peaky Blinders” is underway, to be followed by a film; his take on the Lady Diana story, “Spencer,” starring Kristen Stewart and directed by Pablo Larrain, is due to roll soon; and he’s on board to adapt the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel “All The Light We Cannot See.”
Knight had a freewheeling chat with Variety about wrapping up “Peaky Blinders” with season 6 — a revelation that grabbed international headlines earlier this week — and the film projects he’s cooking up, as well as the likelihood of a Netflix deal in the future.

Warning: contains spoilers for Peaky Blinders season 5 and the creator’s plan for the overall finale.
Two episodes into Peaky Blinders, the Birmingham-set gangster drama that thundered onto screen in 2013 and grew into a global obsession, Tommy Shelby says that he has a broken heart. He’s drunk and melancholy, talking to Grace, the woman he’ll eventually love, marry, and lose to a bullet that was meant for him. When Grace warns Tommy that the sad song she’s about to sing will break his heart, he tells her, “Already broken.”
In 1919, Tommy’s heart isn’t the only thing about him that’s broken. He’s just back from France, where he and his brothers Arthur and John killed for King and Country. They returned physically intact but mentally shaken loose, carrying the brutality of war back to the streets of Small Heath.
With little understanding of psychological trauma in the population,...

Exclusive: With yesterday’s news that BAFTA-winning period gangster epic Peaky Blinders will conclude with its sixth season came a promise of the series continuing “in another form,” creator Steven Knight said. Elaborating on that, he tells Deadline, “Covid changed our plans. But I can say that my plan from the beginning was to end Peaky with a movie. That is what is going to happen.”
A film has long been considered for the series, and while there are no details for the moment and Deadline understands that nothing has been formalized, it would seem a logical extension for the show which has become its own industry — or as Knight has told me in the past, Peaky is “a beast that will not die.” There have been tie-in books, clothing lines, an official soundtrack and a video game. Knight has also been approached about a spinoff ballet version and a West End musical.

Season five of Peaky Blinders - which hit Netflix in the Us on Oct. 4 - is a wild ride, and the good news for fans is that season six of the show is definitely happening. The show's creator, Steven Knight, confirmed that at least one, if not two new seasons are on their way, and scripts for season six have already been written. Speaking to the Birmingham Press Club, he said, "We are definitely doing six, and we will probably do seven. After series four, it went mad." So what can we expect from the Shelby family in the future?
Who's In the Cast for Peaky Blinders Season 6?
Don't worry - Tommy Shelby isn't going anywhere. According to Knight, "We've talked to Cillian Murphy, and he's all for it, and the rest of the principal cast are in for it." That means we can safely expect the return of Paul Anderson as Arthur Shelby,...

The BBC's moody drama Peaky Blinders has become a worldwide hit, and it's easy to see why. The movie-style cinematography, the killer soundtrack, and the amazing performances from the likes of Cillian Murphy and Helen McCrory make the Sunday night crime drama absolute must-see TV. But exactly how much of the story is based on true events?
The answer is complicated. The name "Peaky Blinders" is real and refers to a gang that was operational in Birmingham at the time the show is set. The show's creator, Steven Knight, is from Birmingham, and got the idea for Peaky Blinders from stories shared by his family.
"My parents, particularly my dad, had these tantalizing memories of from when he was nine or 10 years old of these people. They were incredibly well dressed, they were incredibly powerful, they had a lot of money in an area where no one had money and . . . they were gangsters!

Peaky Blinders has finally returned to our screens and, as per usual, the Shelby family means business. This season, among other adversaries, Tommy and his family meet the controversial British politician Sir Oswald Mosley (portrayed by Sam Claflin). Though most Peaky Blinders characters tend to be fictional, sometimes the writers weave real people from history into the story. Mosley is one such character, a real historical figure who led Britain's anti-Semitic fascist movement during the 1930s.
Episode one of Peaky Blinders season five is set on Oct. 29, 1929, around the time the real-life Mosley was the chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, a private estate owned by Her Majesty the Queen. He was previously the MP for Smethwick, situated on the opposite side of Birmingham from the Shelby family's stomping ground of Small Heath.

Peaky Blinders fans in the U.S. still have to wait until Netflix drops Season 5 of the epic gangster drama on October 4, but in the UK last night, the season drew to a close on BBC One with a series high 3.8M overnight viewers. The figures edged the record previously set by this season’s episode 3, and come with a higher share at 22.6% of the audience. Overall, the Cillian Murphy-starrer has been blowing away numbers from Seasons 1-4 which aired on BBC Two. The first four episodes of this season have averaged 5.9M in 7-day consolidated viewing across all screens.
When the season debuted in late August, Peaky blazed back onto UK television with its best-ever launch at an average 3.7M viewers in the overnights (6.2M consolidated). Before the move to BBC One this year, Peaky’s highest overnight was the Season 4 finale at 2.4M. The Steven Knight-created...

With just two weeks to go until the Oct. 4 launch date, Netflix has released a brand new trailer for the fifth season of “Peaky Blinders” — and it’s full of real and imagined violence, and one unfortunate scarecrow.

Peaky Blinders blazed back onto UK television on Sunday night, scoring its best-ever debut with an average 3.7M viewers in the overnights. The Cillian Murphy-led series, now airing on BBC One, comfortably won the 9Pm slot with a 22.8 share, and peaked at 4M viewers.
The six-episode 5th season marks a move to Sundays and to BBC One from Peaky’s previous home on BBC Two, after it took the Best TV Drama BAFTA for Season 4. That run was Peaky’s most-watched, and the show the top drama of 2017 on BBC Two at a consolidated 3.3M viewers.
Because the Steven Knight-created series shifted networks this year, comparisons are not apples-to-apples. However, the 5th season premiere blasted past previous overnight launches which were led by Season 1 (2.4M average viewers), Season 4 (2.3M), Season 3 (2M) and Season 2 (1.7M).

Anticipation for S5 has been ramping up as the global fanbase eagerly awaits Peaky’s return, nearly two years after Season 4 which was its highest-rated yet — the trailer for the upcoming run has garnered more than 3.5M views since its unveiling at the end of July. The Steven Knight-created series is also coming back after it scored its first Best TV Drama BAFTA, for Season 4, in 2018 — a rarity for a show that many years along.

On Sunday afternoon, a gunman opened fire at the Gilroy Garlic Festival, an annual summer festival in the quiet city of Gilroy, California, located about 30 miles south of San Jose. The gunman killed three people, including a six-year-old boy, and injured at least 12 others. Police said the gunman had been shot and killed and that authorities suspected he may have had an accomplice, who was still at large.
Although authorities initially did not reveal the identity of the shooter, local news station Kpix 5 reported he was a 19-year-old man named Santino Legan.

Be prepared for “shocks and surprises to come,” said Peaky Blinders creator and writer Steven Knight at tonight’s packed-house London premiere of the gangster epic’s 5th season. “It gets better and better,” Knight promised an enthusiastic crowd — some of whom came dressed in 1920s garb to the highly sought-out event.
Peaky will return to UK television later this year, moving from BBC Two to BBC One after its 4th season Best TV Drama BAFTA win in 2018. It will also, I’ve learned, be trailered in movie theaters ahead of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood which releases in the UK on August 14. Such is the cinematic quality of Peaky — which stars Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory and Paul Anderson — and the belief that the BBC has in the ongoing series. Flat caps were out in force on Wednesday in Birmingham, England as the town welcomed the Season 5 world premiere of gangster epic Peaky Blinders. Birmingham is home to Peaky creator and writer Steven Knight, and to the series’ Shelby family that’s led by star Cillian Murphy’s Tommy. At a screening of the first episode of the upcoming season, Knight excited the crowd, saying that much of the next season will be shot locally. He added, “We have two more series to do and we are bringing Peaky Blinders home.” Deadline last year reported that talks were ongoing with the BBC on Seasons 6 and 7, and Knight’s comments certainly make them appear likely. However, producers and the network have yet to officially confirm.

Peaky Blinders Season 5 will see Tommy tackle his most dangerous job yet – politics, as a member of Parliament.
Peaky Blinders Season 5 has officially been a thing since the December 2017 Season 4 finale aired in the U.K., upon which the BBC confirmed that a fifth season renewal was already a done deal. Thus, fans have been waiting nearly two years since we last left Tommy and the Shelby clan.
Of course, Peaky Blinders Season 4 reaped record ratings for its U.K. airing, on BBC Two, culminating with 3.6 million viewers tuning in for the finale. We’ll probably never know the hard figures for its U.S. performance on Netflix, due to the streaming giant’s secretiveness over those things. However, the binge habits of American audiences clearly renewed the show's momentum.
