This article contains spoilers for the Gen V finale and The Boys comic.
With the bloody first season of Gen V now over, Amazon Studios has released first look posters for the next chapter in this universe, The Boys season 4. Season 3 of The Boys and Gen V have both been building toward an important presidential election, and these images hint at who may end up winning.
The images are simple – the first shows Homelander (Antony Starr) standing triumphantly as confetti rains down upon him while the second shows Butcher (Karl Urban) staring down at the aftermath of the celebration, clearly disappointed in the results.

“The Boys” Season 4 will pick up where “Gen V” Season 1 left off, just ahead of an in-universe presidential election. And from the looks of the first promo images released by Amazon for the new episodes of “The Boys,” the Vought supes led by Homelander (Antony Starr) are going to have a good Election Day, and Billy Bucher (Karl Urban) and The Boys are going to be left crushed by defeat.
Amazon has not yet set a premiere date for “The Boys” Season 4, but confirmed through these photos it will stream in 2024.
See the pair of first-look photos below, which feature Homelander, who is backing vice presidential candidate Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) and her running-mate presidential candidate Robert Singer (Jim Beaver), standing stoic and triumphant while red, white and blue confetti rains down on him. Meanwhile, Butcher is solemnly starring at a confetti and balloon-covered floor.

By 1983, Stephen King had rocketed to the top of the publishing world within a fairly short period of time. His first novel, Carrie, had been published only nine years before but he was already considered the modern master of the horror novel. The adaptations of his work, Brian DePalma’s Carrie (1976), Tobe Hooper’s TV movie Salem’s Lot (1979), and Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining (1980) had only served to feed the fires of his popularity. King had become a cottage industry by the third year of the new decade and the three films based on his work released that year remain among the best connected to his name while exploring some of the greatest issues he grappled with in the early years of his career.

‘The Boys’ Season 4 Adds Jeffrey Dean Morgan in Mystery Role, Marking Another ‘Supernatural’ Reunion
Soldier Boy’s daddy is joining “The Boys” for its fourth season — kind of.
In a move that is sure to bring joy to the “Supernatural” fandom, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been added to the cast of the Amazon superhero series for Season 4, marking yet another reunion between an alum of the long-running CW series and its creator Eric Kripke, who is now showrunner of “The Boys.”
“Walking Dead” star Morgan will be a recurring guest star on the fourth season of “The Boys,” with details about his character being kept under wraps for now.
On The CW’s now-ended “Supernatural,” Morgan played John Winchester, the demon-hunting father of Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki), whom he taught the “family business” from a very early age following the death of their mother Mary (Samantha Smith) at the hands of a yellow-eyed demon in the series opening moments.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “The Instant White-Hot Wild,” the Season 3 finale episode of “The Boys.”
Jensen Ackles knows a thing or two about playing men who have less-than-healthy relationships with their fathers following his 15 seasons starring as Dean Winchester on The CW’s “Supernatural” and his role as toxic-masculine superhero Soldier Boy on the now-concluded third season of Amazon’s “The Boys.”
But which of the two Ackles characters — one who did everything his demon-hunting father John Winchester (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) asked of him and his brother, Sam (Jared Padalecki), and the other who went so far as to have a corrupt company inject him with a chemical that gave him super powers in an attempt to win his father’s approval — had the bigger “daddy issues” complex?

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “The Instant White-Hot Wild,” the Season 3 finale episode of “The Boys.”
“The Boys” ended its third season Friday with a finale that included multiple character deaths, changes in alliances and cliffhangers so huge that even Starlight would have a hard time flying down from them safely. Luckily for the Amazon Prime Video series, fans have grown accustomed to this madness and likely knew they were in for a wild ride when they tuned into the Season 3 finale.
But for the sake of underlining how much went down in the episode, here we go: Homelander (Antony Starr) kills Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell); the Deep (Chace Crawford) kills Robert Singer’s (Jim Beaver) VP pick and the slot goes to secret supe Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit); Starlight/Annie (Erin Moriarty) flies with just a little assistance from Hughie (Jack Quaid); Queen...

One week after exploding genitalia in its Season 3 premiere and increasing viewership by 17 from Season 2’s debut, “The Boys” has been renewed for a fourth season at Amazon.
While “The Boys” star Karl Urban previously spilled the fourth-season beans when he said at Variety‘s SXSW Studio on March 12 that he was “shooting ‘The Boys’ through the end of the year,” well after production had already wrapped on Season 3, Friday’s renewal marks the official Season 4 pickup from Amazon.
Of course, giving “The Boys” a fourth season was always a no-brainer for Amazon, as the Eric Kripke-created show is at the center of the streamer’s first multi-series franchise, which now includes animated anthology spinoff “The Boys Presents: Diabolical” and the currently in-production untitled spinoff, which is set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes.

The Boys will continue to cause mayhem at Prime Video.
The Amazon-owned streaming platform has renewed The Boys for a fourth season. The pickup comes just a week after the show’s third season premiered on June 3. It will continue with weekly episodes through July 8.
“From our first conversation with [showrunner] Eric Kripke and the creative team about season three of The Boys, we knew the show was continuing to get even bolder — an impressive feat considering the wild success of the Emmy-nominated second season,” said Vernon Sanders, head of global television at Amazon Studios. “The Boys continues to push boundaries in storytelling while also being relentlessly entertaining and threading the needle on social satire that feels all too real. Amazon’s superhero series “The Boys” got a little more super(natural) in its Season 3 debut on Friday with the introduction of Jensen Ackles to the cast in the role of Soldier Boy. His arrival on the series marked a reunion for Ackles and “The Boys” showrunner Eric Kripke, as Kripke is also the creator of The CW’s “Supernatural,” which starred Ackles and Jared Padalecki as brothers Dean and Sam Winchester throughout its 15-season run.
So now that Ackles has made his way from one Kripke show to another, is there any chance we’ll see his on-screen brother drop by for a cameo either in the currently airing third season or the yet-to-be-picked-up-but-definitely-a-safe-bet Season 4?
“I would love a Jared cameo! He’s always welcome on the show,” Kripke told Variety. “Up to now, the guy is on a network show that has however many episodes — like, a lot more than eight.

This Supernatural article contains Major spoilers for the series finale.
A lot of fans were hoping that Supernatural would end the way its penultimate episode ended, with Sam and Dean literally driving off into the sunset in the Impala, to new and unknown adventures. When it comes time to re-watch the series no doubt many will choose to stop there; the episode even has a series finale-style montage of moments from across its 15 years to go with that classic conclusion.
But Supernatural didn’t end with “Inherit The Earth.” In a show where death was in danger of losing all meaning, it was never really going to be over until we’d seen the Winchesters finally die, for good, we really mean it this time, no take-backsies. Sam and Dean have watched each other die, grieved each other, and brought each other back from the other side so many times...

Spoiler Alert: This recap contains details about tonight’s series finale of The CW’s Supernatural, “Carry On.”
On Thursday night, The CW’s longest-running series, Supernatural, completed its 15-year run in dramatic fashion. In “Carry On”—directed by Robert Singer, from a script by Andrew Dabb—the beloved monster hunter Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) meets an untimely end, with brother Sam (Jared Padalecki) in the room.
Episode 1520 opens on an average, relaxed morning for the pair, in which they go about their routine, eating breakfast, doing chores and wiping down their guns. While waiting for any word of supernatural activity, the brothers are met with none, deciding to use their down time to attend an event called Pie Fest. Dean, for one, feels he was fated to attend this gathering. Sam, on the other hand, is caught up in his head, mourning his two lost friends, Castiel (Misha Collins...

Here we go, guys. After 15 years, which equates to 326 episodes, Supernatural has finally reached the end of the road. This Thursday, the record-breaking series – which has starred Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki as the Winchester brothers from the very beginning – comes to a close. And above you can check out a promo which teases how it’s all going to wrap up.
Episode 15×20 is titled “Carry On,” obviously a reference to the series’ iconic sort-of theme song, “Carry on Wayward Son.” As directed by Robert Singer and written by Andrew Dabb, the two showrunners, the plot is being kept tightly under wraps and this 20-second trailer certainly doesn’t give anything away. Neither does the brief official synopsis, which reads: “After 15 seasons, the longest running sci fi series in the US is coming to an end. Baby, it’s the final ride for saving people and hunting things,”

Spoiler Alert: This article contains details from tonight’s episode of The CW’s Supernatural.
Following a six-month hiatus brought on by the coronavirus pandemic, Supernatural returned to The CW tonight to begin wrapping up its 15th and final season.
Kicking off an upcoming run of seven episodes is “Last Holiday,” which sees hunters of the supernatural Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) plotting to kill a vengeful God (Rob Benedict), as their de facto brother Jack (Alexander Calvert) wrestles with the loss—and redemption—of his soul.
When the pipes in their bunker hideout start to malfunction, Sam and Dean head to its control center, hoping to reset the system with the push of a button. Unexpectedly, it reactivates Mrs. Butters (Meagan Fay), a wood nymph helper of the Men of Letters, who had been trapped in standby mode since 1958.
At first, the brothers enjoy the magical being’s presence.

Production has shut down on the Vancouver-based “Riverdale” and “Batwoman” due to delays in processing Covid-19 tests in British Columbia, sources tell Variety.
Warner Bros. Television is also delaying production on “Legends of Tomorrow” and “Supergirl,” both of which were supposed to begin filming this week. A representative for Disney Television Studios — which is filming ABC’s “A Million Little Things” and “Big Sky,” as well “The Mighty Ducks” for Disney Plus and “Mysterious Benedict Society” for Hulu — did not respond about the status of those British Columbia-based shows, nor would a representative from Netflix give any details about the status of the streamer’s Vancouver productions. “Maid,” a Wbtv show for Netflix from John Wells Productions, has been shut down as well. The status of Sony’s “The Good Doctor” for ABC is unknown.

In 15 seasons of “Supernatural,” Sam and Dean Winchester have fought vampires and demons, they’ve been to hell and they’ve died a lot. But would the show survive Covid-19? It was a very real question after the Vancouver-based production shut down on March 13 because of the coronavirus pandemic, one day into filming the series’ penultimate episode. After successfully filming 325 episodes of the show since it premiered in September 2005 on The WB, a network that no longer even exists, was “Supernatural” really going to end its run without a proper finish?
There was no need to worry. The show’s loyal fandom will, in fact, get the ending they’ve been waiting for. One week ago, “Supernatural” completed production on its series finale, bringing the story of the Winchester brothers — Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) — to a close. British Columbia, where the show films, has handled coronavirus well,...

Once upon a time, when there were just three major networks, the schedules would be filled with glossy, interesting, high-concept miniseries, usually aired during the vital November, February, and May sweeps periods when the ratings were used to set advertising rates. This is what gave us great concepts like ABC’s Roots or, in 1983, V.
Metro subways and bus stations were plastered that spring with red-suited people, wearing sunglasses and big smiles, wrapping their arms around ordinary folk and we were assured: “The Visitors are our Friends”. A few weeks later, they were replaced with replicas but now a spray-painted V covered them and we got a hint of the Visitors’ true, reptilian nature.
The V miniseries, wonderfully written and directed by Ken Johnson (he of Incredible Hulk fame) was a taut two-night affair that presented the aliens coming to Earth and befriending us before their true intentions were revealed and a resistance movement began.

Supernatural may be ending, but it will be bringing back some more fan-favorites before it wraps up for good.
EW is reporting that Genevieve Padalecki and Danneel Ackles are staging comebacks on the March 23 episode of Supernatural.
Padalecki is, once again, playing the role of Ruby, while Ackles is back as Sister Jo/the angel Anael, who will come face-to-face with Ruby during the wild installment.
According to the episode description, “a search for the one thing that may give the Winchesters an edge against God leads Sam and Dean to Jo’s door and to a secret that may have died with Ruby."
"Meanwhile, Castiel asks Jack to do the unthinkable to help the brothers in their quest.”
Padalecki took over the villainous role from Katie Cassidy during Supernatural Season 4.
If you watch Supernatural online, you know that Ruby exited at the close of that season when Sam and Dean killed her.

When it comes to reviewing TV shows, you can imagine how different covering a season premiere is from a Blu-ray release. In the case of premieres, you may be afforded one to five episodes from whatever network it may be, whereas the home video set will have the entire season at your disposal – and you’re viewing it in hindsight. Obviously, the former option has you screening something for the first time, so it’s understandable the producers and other folks want some cards held close to the vest. But the double-edged sword here is that the more a critic is given, the better they’re able to formulate an informed opinion of the final product.
To be entirely honest, I was actually hoping that I’d eventually get to review Supernatural: The Complete Fourteenth Season on Blu-ray. For those of you in the “Spn Family” who’ve read my critiques before,...

As it enters its fifteenth and final season, we take a look at Supernatural's impact on its fandom and beyond.
Supernatural has survived to see the rise and fall of many shows on its network. It even survived the death of a network. When The WB, where Supernatural first premiered in 2005, merged with Upn to become The CW in 2006, Supernatural went with it.
Supernatural holds the record for longest running American scifi/fantasy show and will no doubt hold the record for a while, even after it ends following Season 15 at 327 episodes. It’s only understandable that such a long running show has amassed itself quite the loyal and fervent fanbase. Supernatural has had a real impact on their fans, and the fans on the show itself.

With Supernatural coming to an end, we speak with Misha Collins and executive producer Robert Singer about their mixed emotions.
Misha Collins has a unique perspective on The CW’s mega fandom hit Supernatural. His character Castiel was introduced in season 4 and never meant to become a series regular. The popularity of Castiel among fans secured his place, and now he’s closing out the entire series eleven years later.
“You don't get into this line of work for job security and none of us ever expected to work on anything for this long,” Collins said. “I mean, it's not hyperbolic to say that it feels like a family. You know, we just all know each other so well and been through so much together. It's such a significant chunk of our lives. We haven't dreaded going to work. We really like the show and we like...

When it comes to the definitive conclusion to any work of fiction, you have to think the writers behind it are tasked with something unimaginably difficult and simply can’t satisfy every fan out there. According to many Game of Thrones devotees I know, they wish they could scrub season 8 from their memories. As for shows I dug, Gotham‘s series finale satisfied me for the most part, whereas iZombie‘s wasn’t akin to anything I envisioned. I mean, it was technically good, but I never thought the tale would leave off like it did.

‘Supernatural’ Cast, Producers Not Writing Off Future Incarnations Of Long-Running CW Fantasy Series
The CW has become a network of “-verses”: The Arrowverse, the Archieverse, and the DC Comicsverse. Many of whose shows are also sub-verses of Greg Berlanti-verse.
However, despite previous efforts, CW president Mark Pedowitz said at this morning’s TCA executive session that its long-running series Supernatural, entering its 15th and final season, will never have a “-verse” of its own.
The executive said no spinoffs are planned for the fan-favorite, dark fantasy series created by Eric Kripke, following the adventures of brothers Sam and Dean Winchester portrayed by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. Spinoffs attempts have failed to be developed into series.
Supernatural panelists confirmed there was nothing specific in the works for a spinoff. However, they seemed less definite than Pedowitz that the show or one of its elements might find a new incarnation in the future.

It seems Supernatural will be taking the lyrics of Kansas’ “Carry On Wayward Son” — aka the show’s unofficial anthem — to heart for its upcoming series finale. As the tune promises, “there’ll be peace when you are done,” and that will be true for the Winchesters.
In the past, when asked how he’d like Sam and Dean to go out, “I always said I wanted them both to die,” star Jared Padalecki shared at San Diego Comic-Con. “I always said [like] Butch and Sundance, and people would yell at me and throw stuff.”

One lucky “Supernatural” fan walked away from the long-running CW show’s final panel at San Diego Comic-Con with an exact replica of Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean’s (Jensen Ackles) famous ’67 Chevy Impala. And Padalecki and Ackles picked the winner themselves.
Ok, the winner didn’t drive off with it, but studio Warner Bros. Television is going to get it to them once they return home from the fan convention.

If you’re someone who’s familiar with Supernatural‘s lineage of showrunners, then you’re aware of how series creator Eric Kripke stepped down following season 5. In the time since, he’s been succeeded by Sera Gamble (seasons 6 and 7) and Jeremy Carver (seasons 8-11), with Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer closing it out by overseeing seasons 12-15.
But now that the end is imminent, some fans have no doubt wondered if Kripke will have any input in the final chapter of the Winchester saga. Truth be told, I’ve pondered the possibility myself, not having seen him being given a writing credit since season 6, though he’s remained on as an executive consultant in the time since while moving on to other projects.

When you think about it, it’s kind of hard to believe that whenever we bring up Supernatural in conversation a year from now, it’ll be in retrospect. But now that we know season 15 will be the last, well, it’s time for the “Spn Family” to brace ourselves for an emotional rollercoaster ride.
Of course, everybody has their own idea of how the series should end. Truth be told, I’m sure that some fan fictions detailing possible conclusions already exist online – though I hope they’re not ridden with lurid fantasies as they often tend to be.

Now that nearly every show that I enjoy has aired their respective season finales, I must admit that Supernatural‘s had the most profound effect on me. Boasting one of the series’ best cliffhangers to date, “Moriah” saw God/Chuck revealed as the ultimate villain, as he’s quite literally bringing about the apocalypse. Sam and Dean Winchester may have averted such things before, sure, but the sh!t’s never hit the fan to this degree.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains details about the Season 14 finale of Supernatural.
The penultimate season of Supernatural closed out on Thursday with “Moriah,” a hellacious, reality-shaking episode that shares its name with the Biblical mountain region that was divinely designated as the site of Isaac’s sacrifice in the Book of Genesis. The knives were certainly out in the intense episode which began with familial division and ended, essentially, with the end of the world as we know it.
The show’s family of characters are divided by the out-of-control actions of Jack (Alexander Calvert) and the proper way to respond to a reckless hazard who also happens to be a close compatriot and has sacrificed parts of his soul to save the Brothers Winchester, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles). We truly never thought this day would come: Supernatural is ending with a 15th and final season on The CW.
The series starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as demon-slaying, monster-hunting brothers Sam and Dean Winchester was the network's longest-running scripted original. Padalecki, Ackles, and fellow star Misha Collins (who plays Castiel) made the unexpected announcement on Friday via an emotional video shared on Twitter.
"We have some big news we wanted y'all to hear from us," a teary-eyed Padelecki said, before Ackles cut in. "Though we're very, very excited about moving into our 15th season, it will be our last. Fifteen years of a show that has certainly changed my life, and I know it's changed these guys' lives . . . though we're excited about next year, it will be the finale. After a groundbreaking fifteen years, Supernatural is finally about to reach its end. Stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins released a video on social media yesterday afternoon that revealed the news that the upcoming fifteenth season of The CW’s jewel in the crown will be its last. A joint statement from showrunners Robert Singer and Andrew Drabb then followed, along with an outpouring of grief from the devoted fanbase.
Now, original creator Eric Kripke has commented on Supernatural coming to a close as well. Directing his response to the fans, Kripke encouraged them to remember that the bond of the community that’s built around the show will outlive the thing itself.
“#SPNFamily please remember: shows end. But family is forever. That never changes & that’s what you’ve created here. All my love & thanks to the cast & crew & most of all you, the family.”

It’s been on the air for a whopping decade and a half, but Supernatural is due to round up its record-breaking run next year at the end of its fifteenth season. The CW’s monster-hunting series – the longest-running sci-fi/fantasy show in U.S. TV history, don’t you know – was announced to be ending earlier today, shocking the devoted fanbase and eliciting those usual cries of “about time” when a long-running program ends.
The news first came from stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins in a post they all shared on social media. The more typical press release from the show’s producers has now arrived though, with Supernatural‘s EPs Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb saying the following in a joint statement:
“Firstly, we would like to thank all the people who have been involved with the show both in front of and behind the camera.

After 15 seasons, Supernatural, The CW’s longest-running scripted series will come to an end in the 2019-2020 broadcast season. As fans settle in with that reality, Deadline is taking a look back through the years with a photo gallery of some key moments.
Created by Eric Kripke, Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as Sam and Dean Winchester who follow their father’s footsteps as “hunters,” fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds including monsters, demons and gods that roam the Earth, as they travel across the country in their 1967 Chevy Impala. Misha Collins, Mark Pellegrino and Alexander Calvert also star.
It is the last remaining series from the CW’s predecessors, the WB and Upn, having originated on the WB, launching in 2005. Supernatural will end its run after 327 episodes, ranking as the longest-running sci-fi/genre series in the history of American broadcast television.
