Was nicknamed "The Green Goddess" after she began appearing regularly, dressed in her trademark green leotard, as fitness instructor on BBC's Breakfast Time (1983) in the 1980s.
Has written several books on health and diet, including "Get Fit with the Green Goddess" (1984), "Fresh Face" (1993), "Bone Boosters" (1995) and "Live Longer, Feel Younger" (2005).
Was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 1988, from which she subsequently made a full recovery. She chronicled her battle against the disease in the 1989 book "A More Difficult Exercise".
