ABC News President Kim Godwin is departing the network, just three months after Debra OConnell was appointed to oversee ABC News operations and evaluate Goodwin’s performance.
Godwin stepped down on Sunday night, announcing her departure in an email to staffers which read, “I have decided to retire from broadcast journalism.”
“Anyone who’s passionate about what we do knows there’s no other business like it, so this was not an easy or quick decision,” Godwin continued. “But after considerable reflection, I’m certain it’s the right one for me as I look to the future and prioritize what’s most important for me and my family.”
“I leave with my head held high and wish the entire team continued success,” Godwin added in her memo to staff.
No successor has been named as Godwin’s replacement at this time. The Wall Street Journal first reported the news on Sunday.

A new episode of Chicago Med focused much of its time on a doomed helicopter trip but also said goodbye to another doctor.
Fans who have only seen a few episodes from this season of Chicago Med might be able to guess who got fired.
One particular doctor has been having problems at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center since she walked through the doors, and recent drama exacerbated things.
For Chicago Med fans who haven’t caught up on the current episodes, there’s an easy way to catch up.
All previous episodes of Chicago Med are available for streaming on Peacock. That includes classic episodes featuring Dr. Will Halstead and Dr. Natalie Manning.
“Dr. Marcel. Good morning. Listen, I wanted you to hear this from me [first],” Sharon Goodwin stated as she pulled aside Dr. Crockett Marcel for a chat on the latest episode.

Almost ten years after its release, Zootopia’s story isn’t over yet — having become a $1B phenomenon with the highest ratings, the movie made it pretty clear that it needed to seize the moment.
Back in 2023, it became official that a sequel for one of Disney’s biggest hits was coming to the screens pretty soon — and now seems like it’s been some time since the production started.
Right now Zootopia 2 is set to be released on November 26, 2025, but, despite being more than a year away from hitting the cinemas, the animated comedy is already in the works.
Around a week ago Ginnifer Goodwin, who voices rabbit Judy Hopps, shared two behind-the-scenes photos that seemingly feature her preparation for daily work on the movie.
The first photo shows Goodwin wearing a rabbit ear headband and a tiny Judy Hopps-shaped purse while also holding a Zootopia-coded cup...

Chicago Med hiatus: When does the show return and what should fans expect from the next new episode?
Chicago Med is still on an extended spring hiatus as the show takes a break before racing toward the season finale.
Some fans may already be upset that the One Chicago shows have taken such a long break during April, but new episodes are on the horizon.
As a reminder, two Hollywood strikes paused the production of the NBC dramas. It delayed the new seasons from premiering for many months.
When the shows finally returned in January, Chicago Med fans were reminded that Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) had left the show.
Dr. Halstead’s final episode was the Season 8 finale, where he quit working at the hospital and traveled to Seattle. When he got off the plane, he was greeted by Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and her daughter.
Several new doctors have joined the fold on the Chicago Med cast this season, adding some freshness to the show.

Plot: Based on Viet Thanh Nguyen’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, The Sympathizer is an espionage thriller and cross-culture satire about the struggles of a half-French, half-Vietnamese communist spy during the final days of the Vietnam War and his new life as a refugee in Los Angeles, where he learns that his spying days aren’t over.
Review: The initial teaser released in 2023 showed that The Sympathizer would be something special. Featuring writing and direction from Park Chan-wook alongside writer Don McKellar and featuring Oscar winner Robert Downey Jr in five distinct roles, The Sympathizer is not only an adaptation of a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel but a masterpiece of visual storytelling. A satirical blend of dark humor and visceral drama, The Sympathizer is unlike anything in recent memory. The Way Home Season 2 saved its biggest moments for last. The March 31 season finale of the Hallmark Channel drama featured some major moments for almost every character, including Kat, Thomas, Colton, and Jacob. Big revelations – and lingering questions – set the stage for season 3, which will air on Hallmark sometime in 2025.

The season finale picks up just after Kat realizes that Thomas Coyle (Kris Holden-Ried) was likely executed in 1814. She decides to travel back in time to say goodbye and perhaps prevent his death (even though she knows from experience that trying to change the past is futile).
Kat encounters Thomas on the beach. He tells her he’s sacrificed himself to save Jacob. He gives her some coins and then they share a passionate kiss that’s sure to satisfy Kat-Thomas shippers.

Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers from “Bring Me to Life,” the Season 2 finale of Hallmark’s “The Way Home,” which streams on Peacock and Hallmark Movies Now.
“The Way Home” added another jaw-dropping twist in the Season 2 finale, “Bring Me to Life,” which aired Sunday night on Hallmark. Jacob (Spencer MacPherson) returned home to the present day, bringing Kat’s (Chyler Leigh) Season 2 quest to a close — but that wasn’t the most shocking moment of the finale. After Kat declared, “I wish Dad was here to see this,” to her little brother, the show moved to a flashback of a very young Colton in period clothing talking to an old woman about how it wasn’t his time to go in the pond. Another flashback revealed that it was actually adult Colton (Jefferson Brown) standing in the bushes watching himself with a young Jacob (Remy Smith) at the...

It's great to have Chicago Med back, but Marcel's conflict with Washington was a lot of nothing.
On Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 7, Marcel accused Goodwin of siding with her boyfriend instead of with medical science. Then, everything changed for the patient, and the conflict evaporated.
Will this rear its ugly head some other time? It moved so quickly that it felt pointless despite some great performances.
Marcel and Washington's argument was a classic medical drama trope. TV hospitals are full of medical personnel who think surgery is too risky and surgeons who think the patient's prognosis will be poor if they don't go under the knife right away.
In this case, it was complicated by Sharon's relationship with Dr. Washington, which made Marcel believe she was not being objective in her decision about who to listen to.
Washington's plan initially made a lot of sense. If radiation could shrink the tumor,...
